Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about Urban Paint in the comments below! :)
we need a free trial
Great presentation, as always and thank you!
Thanks!
Very good and useful extension waiting since long for this type of extension. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
To those who are complaining about its cost; even without the discount, this plug-in pays for itself on my first use in just an hour or two. Have some of you not watched all the quick-design options in this thing? Make sure you're watching it all the way through, and not balking at the first sight of the round number of "$100" and being put off. It's not the cost of the plug-in that's the problem; it's the amount you're charging or being paid. We ALL need to work on that these days. This is a great value - and I am not affiliated in any way, just a designer out here making a living in a world of SE Asian render farms , no-charge "designer" salespeople, and AI. I can up my game for comparative peanuts with this thing.
What are render farms mate
Thank you for all your posts and work on behalf of this community! Black 28-year-old who LOVES sketchup here. You've been doing this for years and you're very good at it! :)
Thanks very much for the comment! :) Glad I've been able to help a bit
happy is the one who will buy this extension :)))
Wow. Incredible extension. Well worth the price, imho.
For certain applications, I think this be a big timesaver - not for everyone, but for the people it works for? Very helpful
This looks like a really great tool very steep pricing though.
Great video, but site no longer has the option of using the discount code. The price isn't excessive, but it would be nice to have a trial or educational version.
Thanks for the explanation and the time that you take for this.
My question :
IS it possible to create the same with a curved line (this is a general case in Europe :-))) for the streetscapes .
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hello! Justin; I see those Lollipop trees again . I see this is what's needed to keep the data small. Also, my computer is not responsive.
Really interesting, is it possible to use customized models for buildings and the rest of the objects? Maybe adding the templates into the library?
This one I'm not sure about - I've not tried this
Great extension. Can you drape it over topography?
Not that I've seen - it looks like it's flat only at the moment
Are the same elements groups or components?
This tool seems fantastic, especially if it's going to be updated in the future;
I'm guessing no since you didn't show it, but does this work with slopes? Like, if I wanted to make an uphill road with houses or something, would it work? Or does it have to be completely flat? That would be the "make it or break it" for me. If I can outline a path on a landscape that goes up and down up and down and just click and it generates it just like that then I'm buying this thing in an instant. Otherwise it's kinda meh since flat terrain almost doesn't exist so it wouldn't help much for most existing sites.
Currently as far as I can tell it's flat only. I hear what you're saying, but practically I'm trying to imagine how this would work. Since the way the generation happens is based on a path, if you just sketched a path you'd get all sorts of jumps in your paving, etc unless you just drew a smooth curve, arc, which is also not really a thing that happens in the real world. I'm sure someone smarter than me could figure something out, I'm just not sure what that solution would look like.
$129.99 is too high, it would be great if you could import google maps. thank you
Daniel Tal once told me he liked my work and I'm still chuffed about it
Lol - I would be too :)
Who is D Tal and how do you know him (besides this plugin)?
@@johnjlopez Daniel Tal is a world famous Sketchup guy, he did awesome NPR renders with Sketchup back in the day and he has put out a ton of educational stuff, we briefly talked on Upwork once.
@@Thesketchupessentials got to say I'm also chuffed you're doing so great with half a mil coming up soon, good going buddy!
@@user-iu7go2pd6f Thanks very much - really appreciate it! :)
DO THIS WORK IN SLOPE TRARRAIN
Really good extension, can it use google maps like placemaker can?
No in the sense that it doesn't import the map data. You could import map data then just draw lines on it to generate roads though. These would be more detailed than the Placemaker roads
@@Thesketchupessentials , Yea that would be good, especailly for rendering large scenes, pity there is no demo, just to try it out
Will it follow a line from 'draw on surface' ?
I don't believe so, at least based on the brief testing I did
I really love tools that aid automation but im very mixed on this. The idea that one needs purely fake cityscape is going to be rare unless you are making a game or something like that so at its high cost really begs the question of when is one going to actually be able to make use of a tool like this. Having said that, it is cool for what it but the niche and cost likely makes it limited. I believe Blender has tools like this as well. Also, i wish the buildings had windows... but it is cool ... XD
That was my take - I don't think the cost is high for what it is considering the time it would save for the people doing this kind of modeling, but it is pretty niche. I'd be interested to see if it could be expanded somehow for additional use cases. What I do like is it's actually one of the better tools I've seen for building/cityscape creation across multiple softwares because of how controllable and easy it is. Similar city generators in Blender require a lot of "make sure you model these pieces to these exact specifications, drop them in proper groups, etc", while this one allows very specific results with just a few inputs.
This could be very useful for me when doing archviz with extendent environment though the price is very steep compared to what you get.
This should be around 40-50$ tops for me. I would definitely buy at 40$ one time.
At 100$ thats way too much..
A one time payment of $100 is too expensive as a professional? On the LOW end if it saves you 4 hours its paid for itself...
@@Thesketchupessentialswell u are kinda true but we need to consider there are a lot more things to buy too
