AJ, totally agree. I don't run across a lot who know FJB but when I do they all say the same thing, love em' and why are they not bigger and more widely known. Heard "in a daydream" on the radio during a road trip thru Richmond VA almost 20 years and never stopped listening.
They definitely could have been bigger. They just couldn't keep it together for whatever reason. They needed the interplay between Wayne and Rob. If they could have gone beyond the egos then the sky was the limit. Look at Wonder. What an incredible song. But then so quickly after that, it was gone.
Love FJB , what was that early album like in 94 ? I remember hearing them on 92.3 a Bloomington Indiana station , college town IU always played some new stuff , most commercial radio were even thinking of playing.played at the Vogue in Indy several times.
I saw them at a bar in Chicago, near Wrigley field, back in '94. No more than 200 people and the band was literally hypnotizing the audience with their melodic music. I was just a 24 year old kid, but downtown Chicago, hot chicks, cold beer and a smoking band!! Great days!!
Maybe the most under appreciated band (except by those who get a chance to hear them!), I have ever heard! The first time I heard Blue Texas Skies in a cd store at the mall, eighteen years ago, I was hooked!
I was thinking the same thing...one of the most underated bands ever. The 90s was kind of a lost decade...the interenet was just getting going so was hard to get your name out there. Great talent for sure!
I first heard FJB in 1999 when I accidentally recorded their set opening for Toad the Wet Sprocket on San Francisco's KFOG radio. Didn't like Toad, but I've been a major fan of FJB ever since.
The present FJB has only Marty Lloyd as an original member. For a while the other guys were touring as the Original FJB. They all must have a had a falling out with Marty Lloyd.
Im local ATL.. They were soo good.
