Is there any chance you could do a heath ledger version. I really want to walk up to a friend and say "you wanna know how I got these scars" and it sound really good
I only seldom thought about voice acting, i know I enjoy copying voices, and I honestly think I have the right natural tone and capabilities to match something like Hamill's joker. How do I hone in on this, and should I simply ask a voice acting coach?

No central location so it's foraging time. What I'm interested in at present is breakdowns of celebrities like the Jimmy Stewart tape. Again, it would be awesome if they were grouped as such in a playlist. I'm currently working on a sketch where actors introduce my next singer impersonation. My guests who need the most work are Walken, Woody Allen, Doc Brown and Marty and the original Star Trek crew. Damn it Jim! I'm only an amateur! Thanks again for all the free training. Love the tips, super helpful break down for Mark Hamill's joker. As a life long Joker enthusiast, I have never heard a Joker that sounded like the voice you were doing but the laugh was decent and your tips and pronunciation were great. Id work on it more though cause.. 😬

@@NewYorkVocalCoaching Please dont take offense! Id argue its more impressive to correctly and helpfully break down how to do a voice when not sounding just like it. Unless your vocal range is the same or similar its very hard to mimic somebody else voice or impressions perfectly. I believe I held unrealistic expectations and gave deconstructive criticism that didnt help at all, upon reflection. Especially considering I am incapable of doing it myself. Thank you for the content! And forgive my lapse in decency

Prosody can certainly be important for characters but most of the time it doesn’t have to be exact. One thing however that is extremely important to know about the Joker is that generally he always appears to be happy even though he isn’t necessarily and he literally acts up absolutely all the time. The Joker and the Grinch can be crazy and they do share extreme variability/ variety in their voices but the thing about the Joker in particular to know is that he is just absolutely wild. I mean the Joker probably laughs and gets extremely loud a whole bunch and he may be immediately ready to hurt someone with a dark smile on his face. The Grinch may also be insane but at least the Grinch has control over himself sometimes. I’ve watched some shows and seen the Joker and typically I’ve known him for his appearance of himself being happy all the time and always acting up. I mean Harley Quinn shares this emotional disorder with the Joker. They’re incredible maniacs. Not to sound rude but disregarding the rapid emotion changes I personally think that the Jokers literal craziness and insanity is the central aspect of his prosody. Like imagine just how embarrassing it would be to go out in public with the Joker. You most certainly cannot ever control this man and you sure as god know that he’s going to drastically act up and do something traumatizing. Like someone call the police, this excessively laughing monster needs to be put in jail tied up in chains and pinned to the wall. Bring the food straight to him in jail and don’t ever release him. If only there was a way to keep the Joker in jail so that Batman wouldn’t have to keep fighting him over and over again

I can't believe I'm commenting here again but I just noticed from a scene from batman mask of the phantasm that Joker doesn't always do explosive T sounds and the S sounds he does seem rather soft.. I guess it varies though

Not to take away from this breakdown but, I've found that as close as this impression is, 8-Bit Misfit's impression of Mark Hamill's Joker sounds like he might have been able to sub in for Mark on the animated series. Again, I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with this video and I applaud you for actually going in depth with the lesson, which 8-Bit Misfit doesn't really do. Thanks for the tips!

Though a modern charachter, i think hes one of the most iconic and best fictional charachters in history up there with thor, charlamagne, etc.
