Yeah. I think that whole process kind of stinks. I mean... if you're one of the top runners in the world... defending title holder... defending bronze / silver / gold medalist... and you get tripped or fall in a qualifying heat like that... you should get a pass or a 2nd chance or something. What if it was intentional? Tonya Harding style. Should Michael Jordan have to "qualify" for the Olympic team?

I am sure we will see plenty of keeley from now on she is a star now and has the face and nature to be in demand everywhere but i suspect she will concentrate on her running and getting better n better great athlete lovely girl i am a fan
Phoebe is frighteningly talented and very very strong down the finishing straight for such a young woman. I can see her as a future World Record Holder as well as winning many titles, if she dedicates to athletics.
The PARIS OLYMPICS should be a (barn burner)Ms. Keely Hodgkins and Ms. Athing Mu are not the ONLY 800 meter runners on (PLANET EARTH) my GOD .....There are the (MORAA SISTERS) the older one (Mary)won the last world championships last year in Budapest ,Hungary with (Keely) getting silver and (Ms. Mu )getting bronze.
True, but Mary Moraa was comprehensively beaten by Keely Hodgkinson in Eugene this year. Incidentally, watch out for Phoebe Gill, who aged just 17 years and 3 weeks, ran a 1:57.86 in May 2024, almost 2 seconds inside the European U-18 record. Since then she has won the UK National 800m in a 1:58, outpacing Jemma Reekie, the 4th placed runner in the Tokyo Olympics (Keely was in the 400m). A bit of a wild card given her youth, but at that age improvements can come on in leaps and bounds. She's also an excellent 1500 metre runner and has a lot of strength.
It’s unfortunate Athing Mu won’t be competing. But she wouldn’t have beaten Keely. Her recent health struggles probably would’ve put her chances of even making the finals in the Olympics questionable. Let alone a podium spot.
Keely was sick in this race and up until the last minute had not decide to run. Every other 800 metres this year she has won comfortably running away and see beat Mary Moraa in Eugene in a 1:55 running away from the field in the final straight. As for times, then the UK also has Phoebe Gill in the Olympics as well who, this year, aged 17 years and 3 weeks ran a 1:57.86, just half a second behind the time of Nia Akins in the US trials. Keep an eye on her, as she is very strong and simply ran away from Jemma Reekie (4th at the last Olympics).
I think she ought to be warned about displaying that flag, it could be a danger disrupting the Javlin and Pole Vault event if she is noticed out of the corner of a contender’s eyesight.

Love the intro where the run out like race cars.
Keely was ill before and during the race. So she did well to win despite not being 100%.
And now 17yr old Phenom Phoebe Gill has now well & truly emerged in the W800m @British Trials; GB's M&W's mid distance depth is very impressive!
Almost like late 70s 80s British dominance. Cool.
Jesus, that Keely is pleasant on the eyes, while ripping-up the track!
A skinny white Brit?? Easy beat
she has 800 meters of forehead

It's a shame we won't get to see Keely race Athing Mu in Paris.

Mu was not in same form as last Olympics, would have been no certainty to make Paris final.
Agree, but Mu isn't the same runner from three years ago. She would have been lucky to make it out of the trials, had she stayed on her feet.
Good race. Strong finish.

Well done Keely, good luck in the Olympics.
Where was Jemma Reekie?
She ran the 1500 metres, and was leading in the final lap but faded badly in the final 60 metres to finish 5th.
If young Phoebe can handle all that goes with being an Olympian do not be surprised to see her making the finals and doing well.
