  • This is a very quick video to just show what lines are deleted underneath the upper plenum and where to connect by bypass lines when doing the "under plenum coolant/water line bypass" procedure on a NA. (This exact model was a 1990 300ZX NA 2+2 Automatic)

      Nismo i'm about to put everything back together this weekend. is the drilling of the throttlebody stuff I see part of the coolant bypass or no? Man you have been a big help with this delete.

    One thing to note is that the EGR solenoid hard pipe is on the same bracket as the throttle body coolant lines. If you haven't deleted the EGR yet, you will still need that pipe, or extend a longer vacuum line to the EGR solenoid. I followed the write-ups on the Coolant line delete, and made the mistake of throwing away the hard line. Just a heads up for others with an NA

    Great video!!
    Just making sure its only the 2 pcs of hose required for the NA with no other vacuum line adjustments?
    Also, I am seeing conflicting thicknesses of hose required. Is it 6mm or 8mm thickness?
    Thanks so much for everyone's assistance!

    Thanks for your response. Can you recall how much (length - in feet) of coolant hose you needed/used on doing the TB bypass?

    Cool.This is very helpful. Another subscriber here. I have one question though, do you have to put a cap or cut it off the hardline pipe / hose connector sticking out on the throttle body? or is it safe to just leave it as it is? Thanks!

  • @NismoDHS

    You don't have to do anything with the hard lines under the plenum....even though on my other Z I cut them off so that they're not visible during car shows.

      I have a 91 300zx NA and I have pull the plenum to remove the coolant linea. After following your reroute instructions do i need to cap off the unused fitting that was supplying the coolant to the plenum?

    • @NismoDHS
      @NismoDHS  7 лет назад +3

      D Canyy - Nope.... as long as you use the hoses that I showed at the end of the video connected to the hard water pipes behind the upper intake plenum to circulate the coolant, there is no need to cap off any coolant lines under the plenum.

    Cool video man thumbs up 2 ?'s whats the purpose on doing this and does it void cali smog test?

    • @NismoDHS
      @NismoDHS  10 лет назад

      Thanks man....the main purposes are that it makes future upper plenum pulls a lot easier and reduces a very tiny bit of clutter/weight.....and no, it should not mess with emissions at all.

    Thanks for the no shits and giggles, straight to the point video. The only question I have is, Can I get to the two hoses you re routed without pulling the intake?

    • @NismoDHS
      @NismoDHS  9 лет назад

      I guess it's "possible" (but not likely) to get to them without removing the intake...but in my opinion, 1,000 times faster & easier to remove the intake/upper plenum to get to them.

    So this is a noob question.
    Is there a way to connect these hoses without removing the plenum?
    Or do I have to block all the piping underneath the actual plenum that once had hoses connected to?
    Thanks in advance.

    What's the difference on the tt

    • @NismoDHS
      @NismoDHS  9 лет назад +1

      diego castro - You'll also have the water/coolant lines running to/from the turbos on a TT would be the difference from the end part of this video.

    Nice video... I have a 1996 n/a so using just them two tubes bypasses all my water lines? and I dont have to do nothing else at all? My lines leaked before under there when I had a compression test done and I want them gone!

    • @NismoDHS
      @NismoDHS  6 лет назад

      Thanks....and that's correct in regards to just bypassing the extra water lines under the upper intake plenum. (Some people even just weld the extra small ends of the pipes for NA's.) Of course, 99% of the time people will also remove all the extra lines under the plenum as pointed out in the video.

    • @MrSicwitit2008
      @MrSicwitit2008 6 лет назад

      NismoDHS what did you do to your lines did you weld or close them off.

    • @NismoDHS
      @NismoDHS  6 лет назад

      I just removed all the water lines underneath the upper intake plenum and threw them in the trash (no need to weld or close anything off under the plenum)....and then I just connected the hard lines together on the large water pipes as shown in the video with those red rubber hoses.

    • @MrSicwitit2008
      @MrSicwitit2008 6 лет назад

      NismoDHS so they won't leak sorry for all the questions? So just two hoses connected to the back and bang no leaks no nothing

    • @NismoDHS
      @NismoDHS  6 лет назад

      Correct - b/c the 2 hoses you connected to the spots shown in the video bypass them connecting anywhere underneath the upper intake plenum.

  • @Funnydad1977
    @Funnydad1977 7 лет назад

    Can you just do your red tubes connections and reconnect them for the bypass and just leave all the other pipes in place under the plenum?? Once they are bypassed it shouldnt matter if they are connected , disconnected or not ? Obv is cleaner to remove but not necessary?

    • @NismoDHS
      @NismoDHS  7 лет назад

      Paul Brear - Yeah, I guess you could do that.... but no real point doing it that way unless you have a current leak in the lines under the plenum or are just trying to prevent the possibility of one.

    • @carloshuazano3987
      @carloshuazano3987 7 лет назад

      Just to make myself clear !can I leave the pipes under the Plenum and just make the connections of the Bypassed ??

    • @carloshuazano3987
      @carloshuazano3987 7 лет назад

      My its Twin turbo ! its the same way ????

    • @NismoDHS
      @NismoDHS  7 лет назад +1

      Carlos Huazano - yeah, you could... IF a NA... but same basic answer, it's almost pointless to do and not remove all the junk under the plenum besides reducing chances of the lines underneath from leaking.

    • @NismoDHS
      @NismoDHS  7 лет назад +1

      Carlos Huazano - No, twin turbo models line routing is a bit different due to the coolant lines going to/from the turbos.

  • @bluesmanreturns
    @bluesmanreturns 9 лет назад

    CAN I DO THIS BY PASS SYTEM WITHOUT TAKING THE plenum OFF BECAUSE I JUST INSTALLED IT AND HAVE LEAKS AND IF I CAN BY PASS USING YOUR SYSTEM MAYBE I WONT HAVE TO TAKE THE plenum AGAIN

    • @NismoDHS
      @NismoDHS  9 лет назад

      bluesmanreturns - I guess the short answer would be yes, it may be possible.... but you could probably re-pull the plenum faster than trying to do the bypass with the plenum still on....not to mention a huge pain to even attempt with the plenum still on due to accessibility...even if you only did the bypass part only with the hoses in the rear. I would just take the plenum off again and do the bypass....b/c once you do it, you're next upper plenum pull will be A LOT faster!...especially if you're area doesn't have emissions and you go ahead bypass or delete the EGR stuff while you're at it.

    • @bluesmanreturns
      @bluesmanreturns 9 лет назад

      Yeah its looks hard to get around this thing when thanks for responding to my question another question do bypass the vacuum lines also that are attached to the bottom next to the coolant hoses meaning rerouting them?

    • @NismoDHS
      @NismoDHS  9 лет назад

      bluesmanreturns - Well for the coolant hoses, you're bypassing the ones under the upper plenum by removing them/not using them and then re-routing the coolant lines to using a hose like the red one in the video. As far as vacuum lines, there are lots, so I'm not sure which ones you're talking about....could be EGR ones, PRVR ones, AIV ones, etc. (I removed all those on mine since my county does not have emission test and it looks a lot cleaner.) Here's a really helpful link if you want to delete some stuff: z32.wikispaces.com/

    Can't you just put rubber caps on the four outlets?

    • @NismoDHS
      @NismoDHS  6 лет назад

      Philip Williams - there’s a few ways you could do this, this was just one of the quick ways.... some people weld the small ends instead of just rubber caps due to pressure.
