I swear I could just watch you cut beautiful opals all day and never get bored
Justin's puns and great sense of humour are part of the reason Black Opal Direct is my favorite opal cutting videos to watch after work. Keep up the great work!
Believe it or not, I watch his videos without the sound. He is just as interesting without any.
I totally agree. Rock on Justin!
I love watching you cut stones it is so beautiful the way it starts shining through. You do a fabulous job. And you're teaching me a lot about Opals
I love watching you cut opals, it's like opening gifts on Christmas morning!!
I have been home from work for 5 weeks with a broken ankle. I found your Chanel and have been quite entertained with the beautiful stones you produce
Thanks
Kevin

I just did a 10 hour marathon run of your videos and I can't get enough, I have learned so much and enjoyed every stone you cut and went on the roller-coaster of emotions ☺️❤️🙏. I absolutely love opal and really miss my necklace that I got for my wedding and my something new, it was lost and with it the lovely memories I had visiting Australia 😭.
If you have pictures of your necklace there are jeweler that can make a replicant
I’m glad you are showing us some of the ones that didn’t work out. That is so instructive.
Omg I wish I could have seen you rub that last stone, Justin, it was GORGEOUS!! 😍 I don’t think you should slice it through the middle though, keep it heavy and sturdy and rub and polish the other side so it’s a double sided opal!! It would be sooooo beautiful that way and much more valuable as well! I have always loved crystals but finding your channel has made me fall in love with opal and this craft!! Thanks for taking the time to share with us!! Much love to you and yours!! 🥰🙏🏼♥️💎💯
I would adore that piece with the black center. Maybe not worth a lot, but it's magnificent in its own way.
You mean to tell me I have to wait until NEXT TUESDAY to see you cut that opal open?! I’ve never been more impatient about a rock in my life
LOL 😂
Just found your channel and its really interesting how opal is created... How opal is "prospected"? How its polished etc
EVERYTHING!
Makes me calm when I'm watching you so Thank you for that good sir!
Glad you found me. 🙏😊
Thank you all for the time and passion you all put into your videos. You all make allot of people's day's more enjoyable with your infectious enthusiasm for your trade and family like atmosphere it really is so infectious. I am sure you all make a big difference in this world by passing on that attitude to other people who will do and pay it forward. love is the key 🗝️ to happiness on earth 🌎. Great job guys and gals 👍
Unfortunate for me I discovered your channel about 2 years too late to get in on the drawing but I’m still a winner because I get to see all your beautiful gems and enjoy your great personality
the whole family enjoy watching.we've developed a great understanding of the process of how the king of stones,is completed.thank you Justin and crew
That was so much fun. Amazing stones. Can't wait tell next week. What a beautiful gem. Nova Scotia is pretty quiet, no snow yet. But I'm sure it is. We're doing good, and staying healthy.
Stay safe and healthy.
❤😀👍⭐
Ok,I am here in FL. No snow( please send some)I should be doing other things, not I'll watch you, gives me energy. Can't wait to see the results.
I love watching you cut opals! I can’t get enough, and you’re helping me through chemo for my breast cancer, what’s not to love?!
love watching you cut into Black Opals...I am in Shreveport, La, USA and have learned so much for you....Such a joy.
Since finding you here I've watch every time I can't help watching its fascinating and so interesting and keeps me glued to my screen every second as every second someone amazing can happen in the time your working on every master piece a master craftsman at work thank you for sharing 😊 I will try get into your link for your amazing competition the chance to own a piece of work of yours is like a real maganet keeping every thing crossed but it duz make it exstreamly difficult to watch you work with crossed eyes 😵 👀 ha HA ha
I'm so glad you brought up that wonderful piece with the 3 color bars again. I watched you cut it the other night and it brought up a lot of questions to my untrained mind. .#1. I've watched you do some extremely fine slicing, and I didn't understand why you didn't slice the stone into 3 separate stones outside of keeping the karat weight. #2. Is there a way that a stone can be sliced for precision with a computer? Is that something that exists? BTW, entering the competition, if by 1 in a million chance I should win I'm having it set into a commissioned piece for my nose ring.
I have learned so much about Opal watching your videos. Thank you for such entertaining education 👍💚.
Welcome 🙏
Love you showing the zeros and the heroes. Lots of guts.
each stone you work on is an experience and increasable to see you work on. Truly I could do this all day long
I'm in WEST VIRGINIA love watching anything about opal I'd love to be able to do what you guys do .
Three separate color bars, I've never seen something like that before, just amazing, and the color on that one is unbelievable, and the size of it, omg what a beauty.
Had to work again missed the live feed. Just watched it, I have to say I enjoyed the feed because it demonstrates what all us cutters that take on rough to cut, not every stone works. Thanks for the great input. Cheers Phil.
Looks like I missed it. I'm through watching. Those are some beautiful stones. I can't wait to see you slice that one into. It's going to be gorgeous! I really enjoy watching you do your magic.
I love the way those stones turned out and I know you can make those other ones come out and just dance beautifully with the colors
Love the website just wish I had enough money to buy gem quality black opal .... but I’m also a new subscriber and found your website just by lookin on the web ... then came on RUclips and found you here 🙏🏼👍🏼
Welcome ..
We all love Justin ..enjoy
Just look at opals direct and global opals because some of these black opals are small but nice. Etsy too. Because there are black opals and then there are Justin black opals and you could always upgrade later to a Justin stone maybe.
She’s going to come out a beauty no matter what you can find the best cut on those stones that’s why I follow you I’m learning so much from you
Great stuff Justin !!!❤ Truly enjoy your cuttings and descriptions along the process, very informative!!
Justin you got some stunners today!! Sorry I missed the live stresm, I was out buying a new couch. Can't wait for the next video. Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful gems with us.
Out of all the old people that I have seen you reveal, I think I like that one that you showed towards the end of this video that is a dark opal. it's not a black opal but it's got a lot of red in it, 😍 beautiful stone 💚💚💚
Thank you so much for making these videos, It makes my day to watch these after work. Ill be dreaming of opal tonight and tomorrow at work.
Love watching you guys just found y'all
Have a great holiday in the blue mountains Justin. Sounds like a a lot of fun. See you on your return. Those were good opals you cut. Thank you
I absolutely love your videos!! When i get a notification i get excited. I learn from you!
Is the jelly lavender, (that is what I always want to call it) specific to Lightning Ridge ? So beautiful ... You are such a master at your craft. What fun to watch your videos. Thank You 🌈 Marilyn
Yes, it is! mostly found in LR
What is your favorite color in opals
It's fascinating and rather soothing to watch you at work.. keep up the good work Justin.
Thank you Rob
You know every stone you cut you always come out with something beautiful in them every time
I never knew opal. I've seen a couple rings with small white stones faintly flash, just a tease really of the truly spectacular jemstone. I don't know what's name of that feeling it gives you inside is but I call it sparkly. Thank you Blackopaldirect for the pleasure of seeing what opal really is
So welcome Richard
It’s awesome watching a master at work .
Cheers for the videos mate👍🏻
I love your videos! I cant believe I just found you, and ofcourse I subscribed!!! No questions about that. Thank you so very much for sharing everything you do! I love opals and I love that you made this channel to share with all of us.... Thank you, thank you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🌸❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤️🙏
Dang it. Dang it. Dang it. I once again missed the live show by getting lost puttering around in my garage. Thank goodness the live feed wasn't one and done and I was still able to enjoy it this morning. Lots of love to Black Opal Direct.
By the way Justin. I think you have some real beauties in that bunch. I'm looking forward to seeing your mastery at the wheels reveal them.
You say not so good, I say Wow, Wow, Wow. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and stay healthy 😷⚒
I love the passion you have, and you are awesome at it, I will make sure to watch all vids
Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷
Definitely my favorite channel to watch..
Keep up the great work you do 💎💎💎😃
Please please please lets see that last stone cut, its so big!. This was a great video Justin, I love your reveals. Thank you Black Opal Direct, I cant wait til next Tuesday, woohoo!
Glad you enjoyed Top cat. ❤️
Love the extra talk about the color play and how it happens, thank you and God bless
You are so welcome
It is amazing that I just see a rock, and you see a whole world! What passion!
Just watched the latest episode, beautiful waterfall any more pictures forthcoming, anyway glad your back professor can't wait to hear that wheel turning 🙃
Justin, with that last one you can take a layer off to have one two sided and the other probably just a one sided in the same shape. But that’s still so great! I’m excited!
Just in.... Anyways. I buy lots of antiques and noticed lots of opals but surprising its not rings and pendents is animals cats butterfly's spiders beatles birds on brooches. Lots of small bits of opal like moasaces. Even if it's treated on gold with wire or platinum or I suppose even silver. It would be good to see modering designs again.. Lots of opal small looks better together and brooches are coming back.... Angel
Someone would love the eye. The Greek's believe wearing the eye keeps evil away 👁️
The last stone, you could slice the middle. Then if you take both sides off the upper section, you could make that into a double sided opal, whilst already having the first side which you have already cut
When Melinda comes in the room Justin turns into the rough opal in the room.
Yeah, Melinda is gorgeous isn't she?
One thing I have learned from working on bench tops, anything you drop on the floor that goes under the bench goes straight to dimension 7..but it usually kicks out a previously lost item 1 for 1.
😂😂
I SAW ONE OF YOUR VIDEOS A MONTH AGO AND NOW IM HOOKED SUBBED AND NOTIFIES ON
Hey justin i just got a parcel from lightning ridge cutting by hand with sandpaper i know its gonna take forever but its a labor of love!
Hi, have you ever got letters in your opal. I was working on a opal and I swear I saw some writing in the stone. One stone I rubbed was crystal and was clear in the middle but had color on each side. The sides had different patterns. I think I have caught the opal bug. 😂
I would love to enter the drawing but the comments seem to be closed. I’ll leave one here. If I were lucky enough to get my hands on that beautiful gem I would bring it to my dear friend and jeweler Lee Angelo Marraccini in Charlottesville Virginia and we would put our heads together and come up with a stunning design to best showcase this lovely opal. I’m partial to rings, I love a bezel setting, ( my engagement ring is a bezel set 4 carat ascher cut diamond on a wide band in 18 k that he made for me, it’s just stunning) but I could also see this piece as a pendant. Definitely in 18k to bring out the richness of the yellow color. Probably a choker length. Or something else entirely, I would probably give him free artistic license to be honest. Also just want to say again how much I enjoy your videos. I think we’ve all found strange little niche interests during this stressful time to soothe our souls, and watching you cut opals is one of mine. I can’t tell you how calming it is to watch you work, I really enjoy it. Thank you.
Damn I can't believe I miss a live show. I'm sorry I missed the show. As always thankyou for the great entertainment Justin
Hi Justin, I love watching your video clips! I knew little about Opal, and feel like I have learnt a lot from you!
I am a stone lover, and must say I love Opal above all else! Thank you for the ongoing education! From a KiwiOverseas..
I'm a gemmologist and jewellery appraiser and I think what you do is important to show appraisers why the value of a cutter is what it is thanks
Last one blew my mind. Wowwww 👏👏👏
Greetings Justin Melinda RESPECTS from Denver Colorado , long time watcher great admirer .
Justin, I am watching all of your shows. I guess, I am an addict, now!
Oh, I missed the live but what a nail biter, I guess the stone gods where playing difficult. Cant wait to see the last one cut, tease!
Excited to see what you have to cut and polish. Addictive
Awe damn I'm so sad I missed the live stream!! When will the next one happen so I can make sure I make it?
I missed him now for the second Monday in a row. I only just started following him the Friday right before that Monday. I think these videos are so much fun to watch. And besides, opal is my favorite stone, next to rubies. My only daughter, my momma and my MawMaw, my Momma's momma were all born in October. I have a beautiful opal and diamond ring I got for a high school graduation gift from my parents. This was back in 83. Well, my daughter will get that ring. My oldest son who was born in July like myself will get the ruby and diamond ring I got for my 15th birthday. My youngest son will get the Alexandrite and ruby ring that I had bought so that I could have a ring with his birthstone, since he was born in June. It's my husband's birthstone too. My youngest and him even have the same birthday.
I was over two years late to get in on the script pattern contest. Oh well, I love all opal. My eyes are drawn to it 🙂
Killer stones. Do you by chance know whats the most regarded theory on how the pattern(s) are determined within opal?
Lots of laughs and excitement as allways thanks guys!
Dang it! That's two lives you've snuck past me! I'm never leaving my monitor again. Just going to sit and wait for the next one! lol! Thank Heavens for replay but it's just not the same. Sand has gone on my list with mosquitos and tooth aches! You really bring the whole process to life!
Hahah sorry I missed you
And now you're at a quarter of a million followers 😉👍
I love opal. And when u cut into it and never knowing how it's going to look inside is intense for sure. That's why I like Geo's as well
In regards of the dousing rods... How true is a man telling his own personal story? To produce a product worth believing, also for another time as proof, faith, product, experience, training, life. Yes with this product proven dousing...cool...i believe with evidente and suporte as product presents itself. Or as suporte for those Who believe thier success come from following wires with thier Hard work creating opal finds..blessings...m
Now I have to get a coffee, my nerves are like gitar strings, you had me on the edge of my seat.
Outstanding work of Opal Art Boss👍👍👍
Lol thank you
Missed the live stream😕...got so excited when I saw all the stones in the basket that I made some popcorn and prepared to hunker down! I need to schimpf you a little bit after you revealed the beauties at the end. Camera! Always use the camera Justin! I'm a true addict now! If I don't get my fix, I rewatch the old videos...whatever happened to the Rainbow Serpent? ❤ from 🇨🇦
Haha awesome The rainbow serpent is still living in a collection and it has moved to Egypt
Well known around the world....An artist at work..
Lol, you said this would be on Tuesday, but it’s still Monday in California. Love these live videos you’re doing, hope I can catch the next one :)
I think the crystal opals are gorgeous .
January is looking better and better. Need to buy more opal.
Is that the all seeing Eye of Sauron? That would make an intersting “Eye” ring! I’d love that as a ring set in silver!
I live and collect on the Oregon Coast I have not found anything like what you work with!! But I have purple cow agate.
When a painter sez "OOPS!" YA MAY WANNA GO SEE HOW BIG THE MESS IS!🤣
Nooooo, it looks like it has flowers in it. Beautiful.
Awesome that's the second time I have ever seen pink in opal.
Sorry I'm late! Can't wait to see what you cut. Just want to say HI FROM ILLINOIS USA
YES!!! do what you just said. There is fire there!
I am definitely going to buy some opal from this man, he is legit. I'd rather have some high quality opal as my first ever opal so that's what I'm going to do
I have purchased some and can not wait until they get here.
Good to see reality, that not every opal works out
what an awesome opal....so colorful
Looks like I missed the live but watching it now and enjoying it just the same!
The last rock 2 slices 3 stones 2 extremely thin 1 super gorgeous large stone. Do you have the hands for super thin cuts ?? My opinion dude "you got this" if its possible, you the opal master can cut the stones. We believe in you Opal-wan Kanobe
The blue one was beautiful and different.
I really like the stone with the dark center.
Was great to watch you working your magic, unfortunately the opals didn't turn out so well. Good you can cut a few smaller gems from them. Thank you Justin,
I'm so inspired to go down to my studio and do it
i love watching all of your videos...
That Gem would wind up in a museum the big one the small one oh my goodness
