This is a very interesting little smoker. Please make a video that specifically shows starting the smoker. For instance, how many briquettes are needed to hit 275 degrees and how do you maintain that temperature for 4 - 5 hours. I’m tempted to buy one of these but can’t find any videos on the start up process.
UPDATE…I’ve had the RBS for 2 years now and I mostly cook ribs in it. The BBQ guru adapter and the kick ash basket are great upgrades. Once I started using them I easily hit temps between 275 - 300 with the water pan filled. I fill the kick ash basket with a chimney full of hot briquettes and throw a chunk of smoker wood on top. If the temp drops after a couple hours I throw a couple pieces of lump charcoal on top to get the temp back up. If the temp spikes too high that usually means I need to add some water to the pan. If you’re using the BBQ guru fan then close the air vent on the front of the smoker. Now that I have my RBS figured out, it consistently turns out fantastic ribs.
@@PuenteBBQ …👍when using the charcoal tray that comes with the RBS I was hitting a temp between 225 - 245. When you use the charcoal tray you’ll notice one end of the tray has a air hole. Put your tray in so the hole is towards the front of the smoker where the door damper is located. The bbq guru and kick ash basket allow you to pump more oxygen in the chamber thus you can get a higher temp. I set the bbq guru fan on 275 and it usually holds that temp for 1.5 - 2 hrs before I need to add more charcoal or water. I’ve found the easiest thing for me to do when the temp starts dropping is to add a couple B&B Char logs. It took a few cooks to figure out what works for me. Good Luck!
I noticed many other cabinet smokers have their fan device port in the front Can the guru be installed in the front ? I noticed a hole in the fire box in front Or the side just better
Toby Johnson check out the red box cooking chicken on how to bbq right. We will be adding many cooking videos in 2020. It’s a mini backwoods so it already has 30 years of bona fide cooking history.

Does the jam nut install with the tabs facing in towards the firebox wall or out towards the basket?
