Yes, it's more of a z than a u and its a horrible job on your knees. Designers for contemporary style homes are using "shadow mould" around door jams and floors and I hate the trend...minimal effect for huge cost/effort. It's not a job for the average taper, the floor and the door jams have to be installed first. Board and tape majority of house leaving bottom row off then floor is installed, protected then drywall. Pain in the ass! Check out Trimtex plastic reveals"shadow mould, z trim, ect"
What is the finish on this? I just got a sample of the clear anodized and it doesn't look as good. Please also let me know the profile - it'd be a huge help!
Martin Lehr it's raw aluminum no anodized finish they just paint over it. Not sure what you mean by profile but the slot is 1/2 x 1/2. Make sure to wash it or your tape won't stick because of oil from manufacturing.
By profile I meant the reveal profile, it looks like this one is a U-shape with flanges on the face, with the screed tapering back into the drywall. The project I'm working on has the connection detail as a flange behind the channel. Thanks for your feedback - hopefully I can get it coated in the necessary finish.
+Martin Lehr yeah it's a 1/2 x1/2 reveal. Un anodized for paint. Go to website and search the specs there. Brand Ame is Fry Reglet I think...trimtex makes various profiles in plastic bit I prefer the quality and precision of steel with can be cut in miter saw.
+Patrick94GSR yeah I'm not generally inclined to spend more than I have to LOL, recently I have just used strips of 1/2" drywall 4 inches wide. Kind of acts as a guide for the knife and move it as I go.

Bushwoman Pinay guapa kaayo x2
I never seen that before! Interesting...I may have to try it!
all kinds of grids or patterns could be made on a wall if you are willing to put in the time
I'm learning still, what is that for? Google didn't explain it the way an installer can. Thank you
Could you please explain what the reglet is for in the middle of the wall. I understand why they're used at the bottom behind the baseboard.
It's strictly for looks...to give some design details.
Cool look...have you used the channel against the floor instead of baseboard?

Is that your new house in p.i.
HI Jack, no its a house I worked on in Vancouver.
You're in Canada now? :O
I could be anywhere now ;) Lots of footage to edit!
That's Schluter KERDI-board for those filler strips. Some expensive foam right there!
Yeah it was left over from the shower backing, seems odd to me to use for that purpose it's kind of flimsy.
It cut nicely in the table saw.
Ah yes I can understand if they were scraps. I wouldn't want to use KERDI board directly for that purpose, though.
