My dog alerted to Eric's voice and came to look at the computer. She attended a workshop in Grand Junction, Colorado, a year ago. Somehow she remembers and likes his voice.

Watching this video, reminds me of my days doing workshops for natural horsemanship. The greatest challenge was not from the horse learning something new, it was from the horse's humans breaking old behavior habits and understanding the essence of being the alpha. Like these dogs, once the horse truly believed their human understood their role as the alpha, everything just fell into place. Also, the body language speaks louder than our voice and is heard and understood more clearly than the spoken word. I think my transition from being a retired natural horsemanship educator and trainer to a show dog handler will be smooth. Thank you Eric for sharing with us who cannot attend your clinics, by providing videos like this for use to view freely. You are a generous man.

Now THIS was the video i was looking for! Thanks Eric! I cannot get to a ringcraft club often and your videos help, being able to refer to this anytime i want, in order to train at home has really helped and if i may say has a lot more fine detail which is MUCH better than than my own club!

This video was wonderful. I love dogs but have no intention to show them (I own a rescue mutt) but this gave me a lot of respect for the training that goes into preparing a show dog. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing!

What I have personally gotten out of this video is...
5 Categories to self evaluate your dog to see if he/she is ready or should be shown.
    1 Great Character
    2 Silhouette
    3 Head & Expression
    4 Movement
    5 Coat*
If these 5 things do not match your dogs breed, then you should not show. We show to ensure the right dogs will continue the breed, by making the next generation. Keeping the breed standard intact.***
3 areas to realize what your dog needs to work on /// Green - Grooming /// Pink - Presentation /// Yellow - Structure*
Use a highlighter and highlight the 5 Categories. This will help you realize what your dog needs to work on.Green - GroomingPink - PresentationYellow - Structure
    ***
Hold the lead so you have control of the dog and you are the alpha. You will be able to keep the dogs head straight (in this video got to 11:09 Mr. Salas goes into depth with how to get the head straight, he also shows it here at 19:38 with a dog on a table) .
