For everyone asking about size: Your yarn, hook, and tension will determine your end result. Laying flat, Mine came out to 21 inches wide and 26 inches long.

Not asking a dumb question but if you used a larger yarn and hook BUT used the same number of stitches it would be upsized to a larger outcome? Can't leave all the good stuff to the slimmernation.

Excellent tutorial.❤ I’ve been knitting winter garments for about 40yrs and just started learning crochet by following flower crochet tutorials. One flower uses several different stitches so it’s a good way to practice. I now have a vase filled with crochet flowers and decided it’s time to take the plunge and crochet this vest. I’m so grateful for ur step by step instructions.

WOW! I love this so much!
I didn’t see this in the comments.
if you want the carried yarn to barely show in any project, you’ll need to hold the carried yarn down and back or away from you when working on the front side.
And down and closer toward you when working on the back side.
    Happy crocheting!
    🧶 ❤

Does that mean that if I follow this pattern all I need to do to conceal the carried yarn is hold it behind or in front of my stitches and it won't turn out with so many spots where the yarn is visible?

I'm currently working on this pattern and holy cow, I'm not even up to the V on the front panel and I've already been working on it (at a relaxed pace) for 3 weeks. I also made the insane decision to not carry my yarn as I really wasn't a fan of how it looked, so I'm securing the ends as I go which is only making the process longer. As time consuming as it is it's such a nice pattern to work up, I'm using sidar 4 ply yarn and it's so nice to work with!

My daughter loves edgy, loves black and white, and when I saw Wednesday’s crochet sweater vest I thought “YES!!!!”

But I was afraid I was going to have to figure out the pattern all on my own.

Then this tutorial just happened to pop up in my feed. Bless you. I’m going to make this. She’ll probably wear it paired with her crochet skull shawl that I made her a bit before Halloween. She loves that shawl. It took her classmates and teachers a while before they noticed the shawl was actually made from lots of tiny little skulls joined together. I’d used very thin yarn to make it more lacy. That thing cost me several nights of sleep as I didn’t want her to know about my surprise and I desperately wanted it finished before Halloween. Seeing her face when I ‘casually’ left it for her to find the morning of the 31st of October was worth it. Now she’ll soon have an extra item of clothing to pair it with.
    THANK YOU!

      @@KnottingHookCrochet - LOL!
I’ve ‘lost’ so many projects to her! I actually do more lace knitting than crochet and she will often ‘hint’ at projects I’m making… especially if they’re black or white. She’ll always find a way to style them in an edgy way and with her model-slim figure (despite an ogre’s appetite) anything looks good on her. This one is going to make her positively squeal. I’m going to have to wait until school starts again to work on it without her seeing it -one of the few perks of being stuck at home on sick leave because of back issues. Crochet will be easier on my back than knitting and it doesn’t look like a very heavy piece either.
Next I’m going to look into making her a crochet lace collar. A girl needs options, after all. 🤪

@@eddavanleemputten9232 I tried the collar and just wasn’t happy with any of my results. Jenna does that to me too. Unless I state at the start this is for so and so.

    • @eddavanleemputten9232
      @eddavanleemputten9232 Год назад

@@KnottingHookCrochet - I’m looking into the collar, it doesn’t look ‘pointy’ enough compared to the one in the series. As far as I could see that wasn’t blocking. So I’ve asked a few of my Japanese friends what they think. They’re amazing knitters and crochet artists. Perhaps they have ideas.
And yes, it’s vital to state if and when a project is intended for someone or it’ll be subject to heavy hints, attempts at bribery, etc… 🤣
Although that will at times result in enquiries as to my willingness to make another one… for her! One of my current ongoing projects is a gingham blanket in white, light grey and dark grey. For her room my Teen Queen (18) prefers what I refer to as “water-jewel tones” (as accents to neutrals): blues with a hint of green. She’s been wondering aloud how a similar blanket would look in those colours. Subtle as a sledge-hammer. And I love it!
The blanket is on hold until I’m healing as it’s for a queen-size bed.

So cute - this is next on the WIP countdown... But how many balls did you use?

2 full skeins of black plus a partial 3rd skein. Each skein has 350 yards. Only one of the white yarn skeins, also 350 yards

Hi I love this pattern! Can we do less than 110 chains? I think unfortunately it’s a little too baggy for me😢

Decrease 1 stitch per row on each side of the v neck the sleeve side stays straight the decreases are done with 2dctog. Hope that makes sense.
