May I ask COE, you speak of not having to go back and heat body while you are working on legs. Is it 33? Is that one of the reasons people pick 33 over soft glass, I use soft glass and I think mine would definitely crack.
Soft glass is definitely more sensitive, but I believe the soft glass insects like Vittorio Costantini makes are done the same way. Progress your heat radially, from the center out. If you are in doubt, you could anneal the body with the extensions first and then add the legs to the tips of the extensions while the piece is cold.
I could show my child how our glass spider we bought in Venice was made. Now I appreciate my little artwork more.
That was wonderful and so instructive. Great techniques.
Nice! Thank you!
