Thanks for your videos. I have been to several Santana shows and the late Raul Rekow is my inspiration to play congas. I will never achieve Raul's expert level of playing but playing congas is still fun for me. Blessings to you and your family. Andy, Tampa, Florida.
Man, always something new, and relevant to becoming a better congero. Brah maybe im biased, but i dont even look for other tutorials. You got me busy learning as much as i can with what you give. Gracias papa. Dios te bendiga.
My thoughts exactly. I had to make a play list dedicated to conga playing and it's exclusively him. This man is a game changer. He actually teaches and you can tell he puts a lot of thought on how best to break down his patterns for his viewers. He does it so flawlessly that we don't even realize we learned the material. Amazing content and teaching style.
Love to add these to my exercise regimen! One of my instructors always recommended doing exercises starting with one hand and then do as many reps starting with the opposite hand and drums in a reverse fashion. It was great advice in helping to build ambidexterity which makes one a better player in my opinion.
I love the honesty and mistakes you make its the joy of learning and a sign of a good teacher that allows this to happen. I very much enjoy these teaching videos. Some great and foundational techniques here nice work!
Love this Eric. You can carry this advice into many disciplines. I'm a salsa dancer and being clean with each movement to be as clear as poasible is really good training
Verdad ! ! antes la velocidad, antes la virtuosidad, antes de todo : el sonido debe ser muy limpio, tambien despues horas y horas de concierto, o de ensayo. es decir SIN FORCAR NUNCA ! ! ! ! Gracias Maestro ! ! !
Nice one bro 👍🏻like I said, I'd let you know how the doubles are working out.. Wrist control improved immensely but only managing to do about 60min practice most days, some days a bit more.. Sitting around 65 to 70 Bpm. These exercises are another great addition to the daily practice. Much appreciated as always bro 🙏🏼
Greetings Eric, another excellent video. Congratulations on reaching 6k subscribers!! I have mastered the Armando Peraza tumbao thanks to your tutorial. i just love playing it as it truly swings. Regards, Blair MacEwan Crosbie
So this is what it's reaally all about; finding more and more intricate ways of annoying ourselves...? Not only that but getting to actually like it too! COOL!
I don't know what you do for a living, but I must say you're a very good teacher.

Can you include more drums in your videos like bongos, djembes, ngomas, pleneras, barriles de bomba, and tamboras? I would like to see more variety.

Tu eres rapido Eric. Entiendo que quieres ser humilde, esa es una virtúd. Pero el que tiene lo que tiene, lo tiene y mas nah !
In this video what size drums are you using
Super Tumba (14”), Conga (11.75”) and Tumba (12.5”)
If you speed up the exercise, it's no longer a tone exercise and now a dexterity exercise. I think the student should pick one or the other
Also mind games.......
👍
🤙🏾
If it were easy anyone could do it. It's real.
How to be a clean conga player: take a shower and wash ya hair every fucking day.
if someday we meet we will give you 100 dollars, thanks.
