Ladies I follow both of you rarely comment but when I had a garden I purchased lady bugs and let them loose every year and no pun intended I washed all my plants with Irish original soap shavings melted in water. Thank you both for being spots of relaxed joy. I can no longer garden but I love nature and gardening. I love people but truly am a introvert and a only child so I get it. Stay blessed ladies

I’m most proud of my garden (Pennsylvania US) when I see neighbors spraying their lawns with pesticides while all the pollinators and toads flock to my yard 🐝🐸🌸

Wonderful, i watched a video where a lady jn america has turned her lawn into a garden much to her neighbours displeasure as they apparently love their lawns. It looks beautiful and saves her a lit of money in water bills, how great is that.

Loved you two together ! In England they encourage no Mow May this is to allow the bees & other early pollinators. Apparently it helps with nectars for 10x more bees & insects

Karens garden is amazing, love it. Feel so much better seeing Karens garden pots, my back garden is just pots because the previous owners paved it and had artifical grass fitted. I use Google image very happy with it.

I've had no budget for a garden for several years now because money is tight. I've made use of the library's seed collection to start a lot of container veggies and flowers. Maybe check your local library for seed collections? Its free. My garden soil is more than 10yrs old, adding compost to it every year. And I've also collected seeds from what I grew to use for next year. I collected sunflower seeds from last year. Marigolds are easy to germinate and collect seeds from. Their stems are sturdy and hardy. Anytime you guys go out, please take us with you, it's great content. Thank you for sharing. Greetings from Canada!

You two are the best, you just brighten my day and just talking s**t is OK with me. When I was a young girl in the 50's my great aunt had a big house with a beautiful garden and a large greenhouse with wicker chairs. When we visited in the summer we used to sit in there for afternoon tea, she used to call it "The Chattery" as its where she used to sit with family and friends for a chat. Such wonderful times in a different age.

Loved this weeks offering, I too was laughing along. I agree about how untidy the tulips look when dying back, what I do is plant them up in the container then sink the container in the border, that way when the flowers die off I can pull the pot out and put in elsewhere to die back.
This is a really helpful tip for sinking the container 🙏🏼
I was listening to you chatter at work giggling while I processed reports. By the end of the show my boss and the accountant from down the hall were both sitting in my office listening and laughing too.

You guys are always so entertainingly fun together. Karen’s garden is coming along really well. I found it so funny when you guys said slug snots 😅…just something I do… broken egg shells around your plants help to keep away pests slugs 😊.

Love gardening and love the laughter. I was crying with laughter. We had such a wierd Spring, and didn't have the usual rain, so cold ,then hot,and now mosquintos already, it stole some of my joy. You two restore the vizion.

Catherine if you take a pic with your iphone then go to the saved picture there is the i with a 3/4 circle around it with stars/info next to the heart for favourites if you tap on the i it will tell you all about the plant.

Tell Karen put down a few beer traps in the borders. I’ve a slug riddled garden in Dublin and before the traps, any young plants got eaten down to the ROOT in the first night or two! Now there’s the odd nibble but nothing is properly damaged 😁

There’s clothing for wearing out in the sun with lightweight long sleeve shirts etc. Coolibar is one brand. So if sunscreen is a problem, u might try the clothing.

Love her garden 🤎🤎Very pretty, I too like the pot thing, so I move the pots away out the back when they stop flowering and put something in its place. It is great to see how people make their small gardens look lovely as many of us now days have smaller garden spaces.

Catherine, I started following you years ago, although I got off RUclips, fb and other social media for some time. But I’ve started watching cottage gardening recently. I found and am now following Karen. I just love her! When I saw you sit down on the swing with her in the episode with the barrows I got so excited! I just love you two together. You’re both so funny. I’ll be following you both much closer. Y’all are the bestest! 🌱🪴
Oh I had to add this! I wipe my aphids off too. I do them every morning if I see them. I just hold that piece and rub up the foliage with my thumb and pointer finger and smash them. Some hop off but I get most of them. I have washed them off with the hose.

Beets are easy to pickle… once cooked, slice and put into a container.. I pour Bragg’s Organic Vinegar on my cooked beets and the are delicious by themselves or in salads.
