- I'm excited to show you guys these Aria Vents. They should be our new standard! They look 100 times better than traditional metal vents used most of the time for tile.
Cheap vents do not belong in custom homes fellow tradesmen!

Great effort, Nate! You’re a pro! Nice touch at the end explaining how to handle a grout line “in the Aria vent”. PERFECT!! 😍❤️
OHHHHHH You sneaky SOB!!! The fake grout joints in the one tile was freakin FANTASTIC!!! Very, very, very well done Bud. Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out again!!
Just my 2 cents I like the fake grout joints better.....
flush mount vent really slick look, well done dude and that false joint Perfect touch!!
Thanks Z!
I’ve never installed or seen one of those before really cool nice work.
Another nice one Nathan! That's a cool vent, I've not seen that before.
Thank you Brian. They are really clean looking. They're not as quick, at all, but look so good!
Positive feedback: your track selection is great for your vids, love that future bass sound, it's bright, bit exciting but good for backing track.
Just love your videos. Great vibes.
Thank you! Appreciate the thoughtful comment 🙏
Awesome job
the shallow cuts on the inset piece........OUTSTANDING!!!!
Thank you!! Saves a bit of time, and probably looks cleaner once done.
@@NathanTilesTheWorld its a step too many lazy installers wouldnt do.
and id probably put myself in that category on that small of a piece. i wouldn’t have thought to do shallow cuts. (i’m a little embarrassed)
We're all on this planet to grow my friend. And at our own rates ❤
I learn humbling information on the daily 😅
I like your videos. They have a cool feel to them.
I appreciate that 😎
Thank you for this video it’s so useful
Wow one piece and false joints holy smokes blew my mind
Visitors always want to step on these so you have to mount the insert frame so that it's robust and won't sink.
I had one sink because of this!! 😢🥴
@@NathanTilesTheWorld I was concerned about this, watching their install video. Doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to incorporate a better adjustment mechanism, one that's also load bearing.
They need to address it in my opinion
Yea, that’s exactly what I was wondering… those louvers aren’t meant to”hold up” anything… and the vent is normally drilled into the floor. I must be missing something here! ?
great job, u are the best 👌
I enjoy your videos.
I really appreciate that. I do too! More will eventually as well ❤
Right on, great video’s. I like that your not judgmental of others, just doing your thing. It’s obvious that you love tile, it takes a different breed. Lol
I love tile work as well!!
It's a good trade. Appreciate the kind words!!
@@NathanTilesTheWorld How far are you from Louisville, Ky?
5 hrs. Why do you ask? Believe it or not, i have a brother there.
@@NathanTilesTheWorld I heard you say your in Ohio. I’m about 45 minutes from Louisville. We moved here from California about 7 years ago. I’m super impressed with your work.
Oh nice! I really appreciate that man. Things good down there?
Great video! I am in… 🔥
great video!
Appreciate you!
I wish there profile matched the thickness of grout line. Other than that freakin sick!
Great work! The Aria vents look so slick and clean. You mentioned a false joint at the end. How do you create a false joint? Just grind a trench part way through the tile and fill with grout? Any videos on this?
Do you have instagram or tiktok? There's a few videos on there of me making them. I use the plunge feature on my wetsaw, and score about 1/8" depth, then clean it up with a two grit stone or diamond buffing pad
Aria needs to make the outside edge of the insert straight so that you can drop the insert in after the tile is installed. You can see the outside bevel at 4:58. Other wise there will be a 1/16" or 1/32" gap all the way around the vent so that it can clear the bevel when you drop it in after the tile is installed. You can also see the side bow at 4:39
Looks like they should make an old work and new work one. I have an opening, but it doesnt look like I can use this.
They have a old work box now but it doesn't look as sleek as there is a flange that sits on top of the existing surface.
Aria needs to come up with a better way of mounting the insert so that its height is adjustable. The downward angle makes the frame sink revealing the cut away edge of the tile.
How did you do the bigger horizontal cut? Plunge cut and then use an angle grinder?
Oh yeah. Phantom grout joints are so so sexy.
Can u please tell me what blade you used on your grinder or whatever that tool is to make that cut come out way better. Thanks
Nice work, excellent video! I wonder if the Flushmount Pro is the way to go since it has the metal body?
It's tougher for sure, but affixing the inner grate with the metal screws is tough with those as well. LOVE the concept, but they're a little tricky to install imo. I still use lots of them!
Hi Nathan, if using these Aria vents (metal ones instead of plastic) do you know if, down the road, I need to clean the HVAC system by way of the vents themselves, can a vacuum hose be put down into the frame for the vent that is in the subfloor or are the louvers in the way of doing so? I assume the louvers do not come out from the frame? Thank you, great video! Best regards.
Great video. I love the look of the Aria vent. Installed a couple now. A little tricky to get the height adjustment correct as the pre drilled holes are downward angled and it wants to suck the whole body of the vent lower than you want. Did you have an issue with that?
YES. it was a real bugger getting them set correctly over concrete, so i lexeled the crap out of the insert that holds the tray. They're way easier to use over plywood.
I had the same issue with my vents. Aria needs to come up with a better way of mounting the insert so that its height is adjustable.
Completely random & off topic but, how comfy are those Adidas?? I LOVE them!! Have them in Blue/Grey, Off White & Red!! Slip on, slip off, freakin fantastic!! Hoping all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!
They ARE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!
what kinda wet saw do you use ? can you use a table wet saw instead ?
Good video, how does mortar bond to the metal plate/insert ? Try not to use markers guys, they might not be washable and can leave marks on tile. Pencil is best.
And if someone steps on the vent because that support under is weak
Where are these vents sold?
Hello, I’m a contractor in Colorado and do a lot of tile work. How do you like the Dewalt wet saw?
It's a beast. I've had 4 or them now. I really want the bigger 36000 now too!
What kind of blade were you using on the grinder?
4" amazon spacial diamond mesh blade
good work bro! ive never seen air vents on the floor? why do thye have these? what the advatange as opposed to....wall vents?
It's common in the states. Where are you located? Typically theyre used over a crawl space, or floor underneath. Not sure of the advantages or disadvantages. Thanks 🤝🏼
@@NathanTilesTheWorld in heating areas hot air rises.
Is this vent installed on the subfloor directly or can it be installed on the scratch coat that sits on top of the subfloor before the tile?
I think its drawn on the instructions as going against the subfloor. The depth of the top is set by the inner channel that the tray sits in. That inner channel for the tray is screwed (and i glue too) to the outer channel body with metal screws, which in turn is fastened to the subfloor.
whats your take on aria vents? Did you see the specs, to achive 100 cfm you need a ton of them. A 10in vent if properly calculated has such poor performance...
they look nice but they restrict airflow... not what I want to do to my hvac system
The details..
The details are where we dwell 🦾❤
The devil is in.....
According to Schluter, your heat cables are too close to the vent. I believe they say cable should be 4" from vent. I doubt it will be a problem but just stating what they say.
Yeah it was a mistake.
Yes, I noticed that too. Nate, good on you for owning it and knowing you’ll never do that again! 🙌
Mine fail after 6 month ,all that cold and hot air separate thin set from the tile
What about if we used Kerdi Fix instead? An “adhesive” rather than “thinset”? I’m doing my ensuite and I’m wondering. 🧐
Here’s another idea … maybe we need to “scuff up the bottom of the insert?” If it’s “shiny plastic” then there is nothing the thinset can adhere to?
Cringey about the life of that plastic. Will it get brittle?
Sure they look nice, but they shouldn’t be a standard. They are noisy due to the restriction of the air volume
Is this from hearsay or personal experience. I'm interested in these vent's but cannot find a lot of firsthand review regarding noise or airflow restriction. They have their specs posted online but I'm not an HVAC specialist so they mean nothing to me.
I have noticed nothing severe. Negligible to me, and my clients so far. Used on 5 or 6 projects only to this point.
@@NathanTilesTheWorld thanks for the feedback. I Love the look and agree if they do not have negative affects on a homes HVAC system that they should be the new standard. Home design has come so far and all we have is ugly metal grates or somewhat less ugly wood tone grates. These aria vents are beautiful and the ability to match any flooring is ingenious.
I expect this market to expand in the near future. It has to, lol!
@@NathanTilesTheWorld earned a follower just for being so responsive. Is there any way I can reach out to you if I have some questions unrelated to this video?
Vents are garbage, can't adjust airflow and they sag down when stepped on
