      @@russellhuntley3334 Hey, yeah so you can do either. I tried line on both but I kept hearing a subtle hum but I when switched both of them to phono, the hum went away. So either works. Just don’t mismatch any cuz then you’ll either get really loud distortion or you audio will too quiet. If you want to use the Bluetooth tho, make sure your turntable and your speakers are both set to line. I have the atlp120xbt and the r-51 speakers just fyi.

    Can you recommend something between Klipsch R-51PM, SVS Prime Wireless Speaker, Audioengine A5+ Wireless and KEF LSX? For use with computer via USB/Optical and wireless via Bluetooth with a phone for Spotify or something similar. I like bass, but I won't have a subwoofer, so which one is better here? I like R-51M and KEF LSX from what I saw in reviews - didn't hear them. But the price... They are different in my country. Klipsch is around 600$, SVS Prime around 600$, Audioengine around 450$ and KEF around 880$ - a lot more than others. I think Klipsch being a bit cheaper than KEF, having a dynamic sound and that Dynamic Bass for lower volume could be a good choice, but I'm not sure.

    I have a pair of Klipsch R- 51 PM speakers. I really like them however when I purchased them online I didn't realize that there was only one main control speaker with the second speaker connected via cord / cable. I want each speaker to be totally independent and I'm wondering if that would cause problems with the transmitter,TV , phone, AV stereo? I don't want the connecting cord so I'm trying to make I guess 2 independent Wi-Fi speakers, not connected by a cable.. is that possible or do I need to buy a second pair and just not connect the slave / secondary speakers.

      The R-51PM, and the R-41PM are both powered speakers, and have an optical digital input for connection to an audio device, like your TV. The optical digital input will accept 2ch stereo PCM only, and would be suitable to use as a front left and right for your TV's audio.

    one doubt: whats the difference between reference passive speakers (R 51) and Powered speakers (RP 51)? apart from built in amp, how its beneficial?

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  3 года назад +2

      The passive speakers are designed to work with A/V receivers for all the benefits that can give which includes surround sound. The powered version of these speakers do not work with A/V receivers to be combined into a theater system. They are great where there isn't much space or stereo audio is all that is needed.

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  3 года назад +1

      Go for the Klipsch RP-160M if you have space, seriously! I have both the R-41M and the RP-160M. I know there's a big difference in size between these two, but you can get lots of discounts on RP-160M's these days. You can also go for the RP-150M if you want the same size as R-51M.
      Here's the thing: the reference premiere series is like another brand compared to the reference series. You may read lots of critics about Klipsch speakers lacking depth, this pretty much doesn't apply to the RP series. Much more depth, A LOT better mids and lows. If you go for the RP-160M, you don't really need a sub unless you want really high bass.

    • @crutchfield

      PA gear like the Bose S1 Pro is focused on loud volumes to fill venues. The Klipsch is designed for personal spaces like in a home, office, etc... so it won't play nearly as loud as the Bose, but since the home is a quieter environment, its focus is more on clarity/accuracy of the sound instead of super loud volume levels to fill larger areas.

      Hi Ricky!

      These speakers are powered, as such they have built in amplifiers. So you merely need to give them audio to play via bluetooth, or an inputs on the back of the speakers. they also have a built-in subwoofer output, which means you can plug a powered subwoofer such as the R-100SW into it, and it will play with the speakers.

      Sealed is still the best for music and when music is the primary audio source, it is still the recommended type. The subs with a passive radiator move more air than just a sub in a sealed box but still have the set amount of air space to control the movement of the cone. Here is a link to these options:

    Its a little thing, just a peeve of mine...these are NOT monitors. Monitors are self powered, individual speakers meant for reference use. A monitor can be used as a single speaker, taking in its own source. Each monitor is its own complete set. these are powered speakers...difference being there is one main speaker with all the inputs, brains and amp, and the other is a passive speaker. Also, monitors are unique due to the fact that they have to meet specific requirements to be "reference grade" in their frequency response....these Klipschs are not that!
