your shop looks incredible mike
i wish there was somewhere like this in the UK !
DROOLING over those Zeppelin Classic Records pressing. I'm going to be driving from St. Louis to San Diego in December. Making it a point to stay overnight in AZ to visit your shop.
I visited your store last week from New Jersey. It's pretty awesome, love the archive on the far wall. Outstanding.
This collection is all over the shop…I wouldn’t want to meet a Billy Joel /Marilyn Manson fan in a dark alley.
Why?
Are you afraid I would talk your ear off about music? 😄
Also 50 percent was sealed. Must not have been a huge listener!
the seller must have either run a record store or was a big time hoarder. but what cache of inventory for Mike & Angel to sell. awesome find
Seriously. Sealed box sets stacked on top of box sets up to the ceiling? He clearly wasn’t into playing any of them.
Did the guy die?
If the fact that the George Benson collection is still sitting on the showroom floor an indication as to how long this collection will be there, I guess it'll be a while before anyone has a chance to look through those t-shirts. Not that Mike really needs the revenue of t-shirt sales... obviously.
Ridiculous the GB collection still sitting there and continues to buy collections. Must be nice to have that kind of money to just leave it all sitting in boxes.
Reasons people sell their collection (if they're still alive)
1. Need money (debt, lost job, college tuition for kids, U.S. Medical bills)
2. Need to make space in their home (various reasons new kid, grandpa moving in)
3. Dude's getting older & his kids don't want to inherit & sell it (too time consuming to sell it all)
4. Never cared for the music he just collected for profit & wanted to sell before the collecting bubble bursts & the trend ends.
5. Wife threatening to divorce her "hoarder husband" if he doesn't de-clutter their lovely suburban home.
The Simply Vinyl pressing of Antichrist Superstar is excellent.
I have the first pressing with the white labels. I wanted that album on vinyl back when it was a new record, and it took years for that Simply Vinyl version to surface.
The CD always sounded too tinny to me. That vinyl pressing was the first time that album sounded “right” to my ears.
Rumor has it that the master was destroyed, and the two Simply Vinyl pressings were the only time it was used to cut the master disc.
All subsequent pressings were mastered from the CD.
Love him or hate him, that Marilyn Manson album is an essential, scary and excellent rock record.
OMG. Zeppelin Classic Records. I would love to grab those but may be out of my price range. I have been looking forever for that CSNY Live 74 vinyl deluxe boxsets. May have to come down to the store.
Mikes got that fuck you money and it shows when he buys this types of record collection
Wow!! Thanks Mike. Would you consider shipping internationally?
Having a huge collection all sealed…. I’m glad he sold, he didn’t deserve it. Spin this shit.
I am watching your videos , and even tried to buy some but you do not deliver outside of US , I am a newbie and enjoy watching you
Awesome video. I’ll have to keep refreshing your site to try to get some of this stuff. The kill ‘‘em all boxset already sold 🥺. But a lot of amazing records to hopefully get
it's a little sad to see the new releases in there. hope everything worked out for that guy.
90K seems like a small amount of $ for this collection.
Wow Mike, I admire your guts looks like a lot of work you need any help I'm available😀👍
Hey mate what’s your site? I’m from Australia so I can’t vist sadly😕 you have great records!
I think you need either a larger store or a larger warehouse!!! Yikes Awesome collections.
Christmas is coming
I want all the Zep Classic Records
sealed boxes sounds like an investor to me, hoping to flip longer term. maybe had have to sell to get money.
i know hoarder is possible too, but in my experience hoarders have way too much stuff and its in variable condition as they are more about having stuff and never throwing anything out.
I know of people with collections like this, they buy every major release keep it sealed, big name artists like dylan. if its something they do like they get a second play copy. I've done the same with some lego sets, nintendo stuff - but I would struggle to do this with vinyl lmao. most of these boxsets are ripoff anyway, as the secondary material isn't that great (exceptions exist for sure).
my parents won't give me my inheritance because they say i'm going to spend it all on vinyl records, it's around $300.00. I'm going to go vinyl crazy when i get it.
If only your store was in Nashville. 🤗♥️
Wow! That's impressive!!! Great collection Mike!
Damn what a score, excited just watching.
I sense Phoenix is going to get an influx of visitors real soon lol
Wow. Great haul Mike.
Are you guys have Sons of Liberty- Brush-Fires Of The Mind cd?
Wish I was there ready to buy a few goodies….🎶🎼🎵 👀
I am eager to purchase more online from you, hope you get these on the website. Looking for mofi and other limited audiofile vinyl.
This right here!
How much for lost dogs by pearl jam and Steve miller band Box set?
Amazing how so many vinyl collectors are also hoarders...
I decided to only buy what i will listen too many times over. Only 80 records in 10 years, but they all get plays often.
@@69texaseyes It makes sense. I'm lucky enough of not being dependent in any shape or form of my partner in order to pursue my vinyl addiction but now that's above 30k records and there's a room with roller racks with control temperature and humidity its pretty obvious I'll never enjoy a significant portion of my records.
I think the statistic last year was that more than 33% of new vinyl purchased is never opened and played.
@@mikefinney423 Sad but true. All my first editions of anything never are played because once you make 24-bit digital renditions of them its not worth it. And the new stuff I buy that are re-editions of something also don't get opened because I have the originals so... yeah... its crazy but I totally can relate with that number. It could be much higher in box-set releases. Like those Paramount Record cases (than won the Grammy for Jack White): a friend got a set and made a 24-bit digital master of his (after cleaning all the loose vinyl on them, those things come really dirty from the factory) and then he sent it to me and that's it, just catalogued my set and let it be. Actually! The more I talk about it the more crazy I look so better shut up now ;)
If i buy all that collection could you deliver to Armenia?
Noting all the sealed, I'm guessing he was strictly a collector!
More like a hoarder.
Is the Pearl Jam Lost Dogs available?
Zeppelin Road case??
The Seller traded one addiction for another.
Kind of nuts to build up such a collection, and than sell it. Did he sell at retail? I know a lot of that stuff shot up in price.
He didn't play them anyway!
If he bought at retail in 1998 a $9.99 sealed Hellbilly would now be worth $200.
Pay at 40% to 60% of discogs market value and you still make $70 to $110.
Pay $80 for it and sell it at $200 you make $120.
record collecting is a sickness!
🤢🤣 yeah I suppose in some ways. It's consumerism at it's core but atleast it's art and it makes people happy. However there is a lot emotional highs and lows when the novelty of an album wears off.
Damn I can't believe he was buying stuff up until the day you picked this up. Must have really needed $90k.
sounds like impending divorce maybe ? better to get the money and sell them yourself before she scratches them up and bins em !?
although these are all shrinked still so maybe he collected for sale later ?? i wonder if yiu had bought all of these at rrp at time of release what money he had made on them.
No way in hell this dude paid 90k for this stuff no way he has that kind of credit lone for a record store this size.
Insane 🙌🏽
Most of this stuff will wind up in Europe and Japan. They’re the ones who consistently have the deep pockets and thirst for all this. Too many quote-unquote “basic” fans cannot bring up the funds for these things. Not with what food, housing and necessities take.
Jesus christ, Mike! Amazing collection(s). Sounds like you better quit buying and get to sellin'! 😜
Work Work Work!
Awesome haul
Thanks Mike you do us record lovers a great service!
The GB collection has been sitting there for months.
I am from London Ontario -I love your store ans soon I will be visiting you -you are my vinyl hero-
$90,000 for 4000 LP comes to $22.50 each.
Lmao, how he just slams the stuff down. Lighten your decent, my dude!
How much for that lost dogs????
Manson would be great to have ! Any slipknot?
sort of like a large stamp or coin collection that takes up too much room.
i need those DMB live trax
I want to see a May Blitz Second of May original
This guy is sick
Wait, so this was all from a private collector you bought these from?? the musical taste is all over the place, as in it's like they bought it, just to buy it. Almost like they wanted to blow money on a hobby, without actually enjoying it. Kinda bizarre IMO.
THe mellon collie original double LP probably sounds like crap anyway. The CD was a double and long, I can't imagine them cramming all that material on to 2 LP's and the CD era was in full swing.
Asking the real real questions “is there any Zappa?”
Wow what a collection. I personally love most box sets. This guy will regret selling this collection very soon--I guarantee it--unless he just took ill--which I hope is not the case.
Unfortunately I give it till 2030 and the Vinyl resurgence will be over again. Down to a small niche of what it is now. You heard it here first. I will keep going though. Collecting since '73.
Oh, this is not a video I need to see before getting paid again…
Holy fuck Mike.
Wow man!!!
Cake boxset?!?!? I'll do some extremely questionable thing's for it! Lol jk, but probably not
Ha! Same!!!
The question is which of us is willing to do the most questionable things for it. Lol
i’ve got one. keep wondering if i should sell it
@@tim_brooks i got 5 on it.... Lol
@@willdarnell7215 five pairs of $100s and i’d think about it.
oh man the cake box set...
Wow Mike
I’d have so much anxiety trying to turn all that merch!
Atomic bomb of collection. Congrats!
So it’s 90k in Discogs #s but you didn’t pay anything even remotely close to that or you’d never stay in business… it’s like baseball cards people talk about book value but they never pay that amount or even a fraction of it usually. It’s cool to see the rare stuff but frankly it’s only worth what people will
Actually pay for it. The whole vinyl inflation thing is a joke. I have a lot of “rare box sets” but do invert expect to sell for what Discogs is charging hell no ..
want to hear re: Zappa
Ænima?
did your wife ask about soft machine? that's really awesome
I was wondering about that too! Is she a Soft Machine fan? If so, which era?
Holy shit
You know it is serious when Mike has gloves on
I was in Phoenix 3 weeks ago
Great store
Unfortunately Mike’s day off
Lots of boxsets up front and urge to hit the George Benson boxes
I dropped 7 billss
Wowwwww
j..you paid little ,this is worth 10 times.
Brian Harrigan: I'm dying to know how the story on the chat box ended. Were you able to get to Mike's shop and get the record(s) you wanted? Hope you did.
90K for 4000 items,
what a deal.
22$ a piece.
Money make money.
That guy would never sell piece by piece at 22$.
But the whole thing.
Most of this stuff is $70+ a piece and many into the hundreds.
@@Louis-o6e You sure know that outside the emotional value an object bring.
Its value is calculated on how much you can actually get and not whats its worth.
Again I'm sure you are aware of that.
Hockey cards being the biggest example and of course records, cds and cassettes.
My mustang boss 429 that I have only because my father bought one in 1969 in the book?
valued at 5000$,,,how much they sell for?100k-300k.
See it works both ways.
Sometimes we win sometimes we loose,
All best bro,
I know you probably know everything I typed here no disrespected intended but lot of teens read these comments.
Its about knowledge.
Any Connie Francis box sets in there for Mayo?
Whatever, this guy turns records into product..Just a rich guy buying mass-produced “collections”and then trying to explain how “rare” everything is-you can’t sell at these prices unless you convince the audience how rare and special it is… Not about the enjoying music just another hobby for rich people to blow money on… Seriously it is an addiction.
"...way too many records..." 🧐
Nice problem to have!
My personal opinion but I think it’s really lame that some people buy products to just hoard them & try to sell them later on for a profit. Why not just invest in the stockmarket? Save your space and get a better return on investment.
I think you forgot to say “box set”
Box set.
8:23 Money, Death, Wife
Sealed ??? I would open each and everyone of them just to play them once
imagine buying a sealed record, open it and it is scratched because of a production error...
It’s a hard life
Wow
Any living color?????
A little sad for the seller. Why buy and never listen??
Mike you're a f'kin legend dude! Nice one!
599.99 for a VG Tool LP, LMFAO … recording is probably shat
Supposedly it sold, lol. I fart in that general direction.
Well that answers my question. You are keeping antichrist superstar. Of course.🤬. Thats ok i dont blame you. How much for mechanical animals?
How the hell does he know to offer 90k?
Put those billy Joel records in the dumpster
Wow he started to put some up, I've never seen the Led Zep Classic Records go for so much..
prices have risen so much over the last 5 years, more and more people getting into records, pushing up prices and you have the investor lot, grabbing all the best copies they can hold for long term. that is what I find as a record dealer. there is definitely overpaying for sure out there, but good stock is good stock and people will pay the price.
Music has become a pure capitalist exercise now, it's all about making a buck
any WHO
rekkids
Oh no more Billy Joel
Your store must do 10 grand a day to afford all that and all the other collections u get ... oh...box sets take forever to sell... why isn't your store packed with customers...you would think so by spending the green like crazy...and the typical this is going home to me thrown in as usual
