For all the jokes about sad girl company and dysfunctional asylum, Phase is really stable all things considered. One graduation since it's inception and that wasn't even management's fault (as far as i know).
@@TheRealSkillaholic Embezzled donations and other financial shenanigans from what i could gather, but it's never been confirmed so take it with a grain of salt.
Holo and Phase keep pushing out Gen after Gen. Tack on all the indies, and all the small corpos. The market is flooding really fast. People only have so much time, and so much money to give. The bubble will burst eventually, and it's gonna suck for quite a few people who tried to make this their main source of income.
I'm not sure the "bubble" will burst exactly, that's like saying the streamer bubble will burst and I think that's always going to be a pretty big space with people rising and falling and lots and lots of small fries that never really make it. I don't think vtubers are any different really.
@@badlatency9979 Streaming is such a broad thing though. There are all kinds of streamers. Not just for games. Vtubers are incredibly niche however, in comparison. The JP market is completely over saturated. So much so where you have people like Tenma/Clara/Peo/Tetel catering to an english audience even though they are JP (Maybe not Clara, but she debuted with Phases JP branch. yet I see SO many clips of her speaking english). Maybe some of that is wanting to speak the language, but I would bet money that it has to do with a bigger prospective fan base too. Eventually the EN market is going to be as dire as the JP market is. I guess time will tell though. It's just speculation at this point.
Yeah, I don't think it'll be a bubble burst situation. I think that it'll just be like what happened with RUclipsrs and streamers in general. The market will oversaturate and only the lucky/talented/committed will succeed.
Definitely not wrong, it's quite a overcrowded space, and needs something more that makes a corpo look more like a complete package that can stand out rather than the new slogan of "we will properly support talents needs" It's a difficult balancing act: needs a lot of understanding of vtubers, juggling of projects and talents ideas/goals, and monetary sacrifice. I think if the corp has earned the trust of the audience and has sold them a tangible idea then they should be able to float their way towards the green
The issue with a lot of small corpos is that because of vtubing being a relatively new industry they tend to have little in the way of experience and you have a lot of talent, often just out of school and college or never having had another job, looking to them to provide direction and security. One thing I'll credit Fishman with was that he was quick to admit when there was something he didn't know and he brought in people who did have experience in those fields to tackle problems before they became insurmountable. Can you imagine if there were no sad girl wranglers in the sad girl company? The warehouse would be in flames by now.
My prediction is that vtuber turnover rates are going to spike dramatically. Corporations are going to put out more waves, but with shorter life spans. Talents will become like new 5 star units in gatcha games, people will whale the new talents for like 2 weeks to 2 months, fall off really fast, and get graduated in less than 6 months. Then these they will become Indie and have a similar life span that they did as a corporate vtuber before leaving the space forever.
I can definitely see more holo and niji grads in 2025 Holo because of rumors on less streamer stuff and more idol stuff; likely more EN grads Niji because its niji
I had this out of pocket hope, but if any of you old enough to know yogcast, i hope phase will become the yogcast of vtuber, sure yogcast not as relatable like the olden day, but they still striving today, sakana can dream as big as he want, but i hope he maintain the integrity of their talents and company as a whole
@Leo-ok3uj Me sorprende que una empresa que se ha dedicado a tomar malas decisiones estos años no haya caido en eso aún. Es decir, hasta Rwby es una vtuber
I think that the "world of entertaining" is a bad thing actually, because it creates an environment that is self-sufficient for some time, but when it depletes the inner resources, it starts to suck the life out of its inhabitants (so you need to add new people all the time to keep the metabolism going) while also restricting them in a way... That's actually abusive. That's like a golden cage, i think. Here's an example: Holo won like in half of the VTA categories, and that's the second VTA where they raked the awards. Now how many Holo vtubers were there on this show, participating in skits or interviews or just in any other way? You see what I mean? I might be wrong, but I think last year at least Ollie was there for one minute. Am I wrong? I might be... Anyway, this whole "world of entertaining" thing is a delusion that we should shatter, I think. That's not healthy neither for you as a viewer not for vtubers (I bet some of them would love to be more open for inter-corpo and inter-vtuber-world collabs and events like Wrestletuber and VTA and so on). That's how cults start
@@andremorr I could be mistaken but I think the phrase is "gilded cage". Agree on the rest though. I think there's still a lot of VTuber fans that want their sieso idols and nothing else. I still like Hololive but I found myself enjoying Phase more because the limitations and demands of the former were becoming more apparent and the magic wore off because of it. And we all know how badly some people need to maintain an illusion, and not just in the VTubing sphere.

Like from what I see, Sakana is a smart guy that knows what the game theory is (I am not smart, so maybe here's me misunderstanding what it is, that would be funny). But the thing is - if you create a good environment for everyone, you create an environment that is good for you. And if you just take and take and take and you fight for something new to take, that would destroy both you and your competitors eventually. And also what you're fighting for. Also if you just make your lawn look pretty, while the whole neighborhood is covered in shit, your lawn wouldn't stay clean for long... So yeah. Kevin is smart and that's why I actually wrote in the chat while this stream was online, that Phase is the best western vtuber company. And there's no competition at all

I'm legitimately surprised you didn't say she would become _more_ breedable.
Still at it lol

It was termination
AFAIK, the only talent to ever leave Phase so far was terminated for stealing company property (a completely acceptable reason to fire someone)
@@CantusTropusI started tuning into Phase shortly after that talent's graduation. What exactly went down with her?
