What always gets me about the “we gotta sell toys” argument is that if you just make it good, the toys will fly off the shelves. That’s what the writers of the ‘80s G.I. Joe cartoon felt, for instance (and most of them spent much of the ‘70s writing for Marvel Comics). Whenever an exec (ESPECIALLY if it’s a toy exec) starts making story decisions for a movie or TV show or whatever in order to sell merch, it always gets worse and ends up poisoning the well, which leads to worse movies and poor toy sales.

It's kinda crazy to hear the worries of characters over shadowing the actor when I'm a tokusatsu fan. Where every year there's a new cast of characters, disconnected from everything else, each (usually) played by a new actor. Sure the actors are know, and obviously there's crossover movies or sequels years after the fact, but for the most part, toku fans are used to seeing new character every year. Which is so vastly different from what America wants. They want the same characters they're used to, continuously playing in a different play place
That Nicole Perlman story sucks to hear. James Gunn definitely gives off an egotistical vibe. Not sure how he'll do Superman, but I could see his DC universe not taking off beyond the first few. His sensibilities are way too juvenile to sustain an entire cinematic universe on. The Guardians films work because they're a refresh from the rest of the MCU, if every MCU movie carried that tone it would wear thin extremely fast... Gunn better diversify the tone and pick the right filmmakers to helm his DC films, or it's gonna fail right out the gate.
What do you think is happening? Gunn is making the core outlines of the story but the films will feel very creator driven. Things could change but for now that’s what seems to be the case

29 hours? Nope…need it now…gimme
Please and thank you:-)
27:49 That's quite a significant assertion. It's essential to back it up with evidence.
If only the video was LITTERED with ON SCREEN sources...
@@ItWasAShtShow No kidding. Just put the source in the description.
@@ItWasAShtShow You have the sources in the description, but I can't tell which one is based on the James Gunn 'writer credit' controversy.
Where is part 4 😢
Cant wait for the Phase 3 video now 😭
Coming in 2029
when will part four be on RUclips?
I wish with the Thor movie, they maybe used Hela or maybe focused more on space stuff and made it seem like Thor like Thor Ragnarok did like with action, adventure, and maybe a little romance
This was a really good watch
Bro PLEASE make a Saturday Night Live Edition of It was a Shit Show. Maybe break it up into parts since it’s such an extensive history. I’d love to help you edit
Had no idea that the first new Dr.Who was even in a Thor movie.
Part 4 on RUclips please. It’s been on Patreon for months. It’s time..
Or it’s time to pay up.
Can't wiat for pt4
I need Glen Howerton to be Mr Fantastic
19:57 IDK chief . It wasnt marve's year for like 3 years now. I think IN comparison with recent movies. DW is pretty good
Hey chief. Spell check.
When is pt4 released on RUclips for us mere mortals?? 😂
Holy sh!t I want to see Glenn Howerton as Star Lord so bad now
