Found the Osbot Tail to be the most impressive, as movement was very smooth and the image quality looks really good, too. Thx for this really nice test.
I'm majoring in producing video at George Mason University, located in the suburbs of Washington DC. Your channel is a real gem! You are the real deal, with so many great tips. A lot of your methods are so practical. Your passion for art and media comes across. Thanks for everything.
As someone who also got a bachelor's degree in video production, let me tell you this. You can learn far more on youtube... however, university life can be fun and it's mainly about the CONNECTIONS you make that propel you beyond college into the field. Not necessarily what you learn... because like I said, everything from computer programming to car mechanics can be learned on here in great detail.
What a blast! You certainly got your steps in with this review. Thank you for saving us a crap-ton of money by avoiding crappy gear **side-eyeing the Edelkrone**.
@@MarkusPix The amazing thing is: they are going to release the OBSBOT Tail Air in a couple of weeks on Kickstarter and it's going to be even better than the OBSBOT Tail. I am already in talks with OBSBOT to review it on my channel which I'll promptly do as soon as I get the devices.
Not gonna lie, you make me wanna do whatever i want. Like i feel inspired. You actually show yourself when reviewing these. Its refreshing to see someone be open and silly but also real. Great vid.
Boy did you just bless me!!! I am always behind the camera, but when I needed to be in front doing a sermon or documentary, couldnt do it myself. Thank you for this..that Osbot is great...gonna get one...thanks you for your great reviews!!!!
As someone who owns the Edelkrone Pan Pro V2 (Large and Small) it's more for elegant automated product shots. I don't think it's a product for a person who is testing security cams, or webcams, etc. it's more for professional filmmaking which means there's always a learning curve as the hardware and software are both at the Professional/Higher Prosumer level. If you had to setup the FR-7 via a network switch, or OBS, and were doing a multi-cam shoot you're looking at hours and hours of setup, you also did not get the Focus Module which is needed unless your camera has superb Auto-Focus, but if you have the Edelkrone Pan Pro Head and Vision Module setup properly it's rock solid. You can see other channels who went through the correct setup process get flawless results.
As usual thank you again for sharing your adventures with gear. I really liked the radio transmitter unit, because you can be behind stuff and it still knows where you are. You also showed they don't all deliver as advertised. That save the rest of us lot of time.
Nice video. I have the Obsbot Me, works great with Sony RX0Mk2 and for the other cameras I have the Feiyu Tech (?) Scorpio mini gimbal with a little tracking module, works fine too
The reviews were helpful. I was especially impressed by the audio- matching your lips & getting tripped-up by the rocks. Synced perfectly. Pro. Thanks for doing these.
I was most excited about the PTZ Optics Move 4K. I plan on purchasing 2-3 of these for live-streaming options for my clients. Granted, I will only use 1080 for streaming as I will run SDI back to my switcher. I like how you set this up on a V-mount battery and the Ninja. That is a way I never considered. It would be a fantastic small studio RUclips cam. Great idea! I swear, you do the most real videos and put things to the actual test. I am so tired of RUclipsrs doing this in a perfect studio environment. I love how you are so down to earth! Thanks, Markus!

Great rundown on a very good selection of this class of tracking device. Thanks Markus. You certainly seemed to get a good workout whilst creating this one. :)
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode Mr. Markus, if I were to grade an overall brand for the average consumer to prosumer... I'd lean heavily on the Obsbot models. Even with your face not looking at the camera it followed you nicely. I remember 10 years ago I was asked about if there was A tilt/pan device one could attach to a camcorder. Pricey, glitchy and didnt work all the time in the tilting department there were a few, I believe one was called "Follow Me" & I think the primary target market was for equestrian riders/trainers (interestingly enough.. there is another Follow-Me" business for spots & par-light following. Thanks for another wonderful video.
@@MarkusPix Oh no doubt for todays standards and usage, that would be the route to go (including stadium events), but this was 10 years ago and the technology just wasn't there yet. And I agree that the Pixio unit is incredible.
Later this 2023 Summer the new Obsbot Tail Air will be released, which is the upgraded version of The Tail which they just showed at NAB 2023 which will be a better stand alone camera & recorder but also having a Mic Input & HDMI output & will have more expansion accesories. Amazing that the used price of a Tail is $1000 as the original sales price was $699. Hopefully the new Tail Air will stay at the same price.
@@MarkusPix Yes! and the new remote can control up to 3 of them. I think the remote will also be able to switch between 3 Tails too but I have to check on that. Like the Tiny 2 it will be USB 3 output but also have HDMI output, Mic Input, longer power options & more. It was the first ever (sorry, can't remember the brand) but never really used it so i sold it. It was way ahead of it's time. I wish I kept it. But it was kind of slow.
Hi there! You saved my budget. I would have spent a lot of money on that "Edekrone Head Plus 2 with Vision Module." I needed something like that for my Sony A7s iii. Their advertising is very convincing, but I had a similar experience with the DJI Ronin RS 3 Pro gimbal and its imperfect and complicated RavenEye system (WiFi disconnection or losing the tracked object). I hope they come up with something better and more affordable soon, like the "Hohem mt2" gimbal with AI object tracking (unfortunately, the tracking range in "Hohem mt2" is only 3.5 meters, but the price is attractive). I'll wait a bit longer for a more refined system, and I thank you for your hard work and saving me from an unnecessary expense. Greetings from Elbląg, Poland.
Entertaining indeed😁 Especialy because You had real fun testning (at least some of) these devices. Running around the bushes like a child, even if it looks a little bit odd from that road😂 But that's a good recepie. A lot of valuable information, insight into different devices, combined with passion for photografy, while keeping pure fun filming it. That makes Your channel very unique
This video is among the most informative and entertaining I've seen on the topic. Great job? I'm sold on Obsbot. Not using this for remotes, and I want an integrated unit, so I ordered a Tiny 2. If I ever need to do remotes, an Me with an action Cam would be next.
The Pocket 3 came out after this video was made and is actually the best tracker as of this date, and Obsbot came out with a Obsbot Tail Air, which is the newer version of the Tail.
Thank you very much for this video. Your Sony RX100 on the Obsbot Me was all I needed to see. This is my camera (RX100-V), and I was looking for a tracking device with which I could use the RX100. I'm buying the Obsbot Me. Thanks again for this VERY informative video. Greatly appreciated.
Excellent review. I have purchased so many cameras and gadjets since I started watching your videos. Thank you. For me, the armchair youtuber the Obsbot ME wins.
This is amazing! Thank you! The only thing I'd love to see as a follow up is your opinion on the Pivo Max (maybe as a short?). It appears with that one, it can be used with a camera. The part that holds the phone screws off from the pod, a camera can be placed, then a phone mounted to get the camera to "track"!
REALLY,REALLY GREAT AND INFORMATIVE SET OF REVIEWS, I TRULY FOUND THIS TO BE VERY HELPFUL TO MY DECISION MAKING WHILE ON MY SEARCH FOR TRACKING/PTZ COMPONENTS. THANKS A MILLION SIR!!

@@MarkusPix Thanks for responding! I put in the streaming system and am already using PTZOptics cameras. Love them! When I saw that one on your table I knew it was going to be the one they needed.
Thank you for this review, I never know that there are so many budget PTZ systems out there I can afford. I was thinking of a way to film my car driving past and the camera following, I can do it alone without someone to help out.
The best for that would probably be the Pixem / Pixio system because it doesn't require face recognition and can follow something on an area the size of a football field
@@MarkusPix Thank you for the suggestion, didn't expected you to reply. :D The Pixio is the best one for sure for the job, it is very simple yet powerful with its multiple trackers operation. But for my low budget solution, I think the Telesin can works with a bit of experimenting, I saw people using it with full face mask and it still track, which meant that if it doesn't detect face, it will follow anything that move if it isn't too fast.
😄 Loved the Walk-Away End Scene. I thought of the Coyote leaving flabbergasted after a tiresome day of tracking the Road Runner. 😅 10:44 Markus You did it again. 😁 Now I had to buy an Obsbot Tail. I got mine for $430 (w/shipping). Well, because the new Tail Air is in the works and it's currently on Crowd Funding for around $420. I suspect though that the original has better Optical zoom and better Digital Zoom.
Thanks for sharing all these cool trackers. I guess the Pixio would be great for filming things like RC cars or anything that moves as long as you attach receiver to the car. Setting out the 3 sensors might be a bit of a PITA but it's good to know there is such a device. Zoom and tilt would be nice but we cant have it all for the price.
I would be curious to know if these can work like hanging from the ceiling (or something like a cablecam) with the camera hanging under them with the device mounted upside down (or upright but using the mounting screws in reverse). And as food for thoughs: 1)-What about screwing a sprocket or a pulley to the 1/4 camera mount and convert the rotation into linear motion(like on a slider or a small dolly)? 2)-Would be fun to experiment with lighting automatically following the subject (like spotlights traking a dancer/singer/actor on a stage for example) 3)-Would they track the faces of statues? and I mean a normal sized one like in a museum or a garden at the same distances or maybe a giant one at longer distances like a large monument in a square or maybe even flying next to Statue of Liberty or Christ in Rio de Janeiro
Excellent video again, insta 360 link is although a webcam but can track and can be used as camera, it is an economical and portable option and capable of shooting 4k video.

The best for that would probably be the Pixem / Pixio system because it doesn't require face recognition and can follow something on an area the size of a football field
@@MarkusPix Thank you for the suggestion, didn't expected you to reply. :D
The Pixio is the best one for sure for the job, it is very simple yet powerful with its multiple trackers operation.
But for my low budget solution, I think the Telesin can works with a bit of experimenting, I saw people using it with full face mask and it still track, which meant that if it doesn't detect face, it will follow anything that move if it isn't too fast.
This is eye opener. Thank you for the review
I recently saw a drone software update by one of the main manufacturers and it followed excellently .in sure you would love that
MARKUS RULES!! Always look forward to his new vids
Obsbot Tail does full 360 tracking. Also, they announced the Tail Air as replacement in April, but no news since.
Sometimes the performance of cheaper ones do surprise you.
😄 Loved the Walk-Away End Scene.
I thought of the Coyote leaving flabbergasted after a tiresome day of tracking the Road Runner. 😅
10:44 Markus You did it again. 😁
Now I had to buy an Obsbot Tail. I got mine for $430 (w/shipping). Well, because the new Tail Air is in the works and it's currently on Crowd Funding for around $420. I suspect though that the original has better Optical zoom and better Digital Zoom.
The Obsbot me, tail are impressive for the price. The sunpho is good for big cameras.
I really like the OBSBOT movement its very smooth and compact
Wow, that took a lot of effort. Thanks for saving me $$$. I went with the cheapo Telesin.
And as food for thoughs:
1)-What about screwing a sprocket or a pulley to the 1/4 camera mount and convert the rotation into linear motion(like on a slider or a small dolly)?
2)-Would be fun to experiment with lighting automatically following the subject (like spotlights traking a dancer/singer/actor on a stage for example)
3)-Would they track the faces of statues? and I mean a normal sized one like in a museum or a garden at the same distances or maybe a giant one at longer distances like a large monument in a square or maybe even flying next to Statue of Liberty or Christ in Rio de Janeiro
You’re the best. Thanks for making mistakes on our behalf, the learning curve has been reduced.
I really like your videos. Honest information from a cute and down to earth type of guy 👍
Awww thank you 😋
Nice, i actually use my old RS2 + Raveneye on a tripod to track a subject while I gimbal.. nice video btw
Great tests and reviews Markus. 😄
Thanks! 😃
Excellent video again, insta 360 link is although a webcam but can track and can be used as camera, it is an economical and portable option and capable of shooting 4k video.
Its a webcam though, I don't think it has an SD card to record onto
Not gonna lie, this is gonna step up my only fans production
😅
Those Osbot products are really good.
