      Hi Anand,
      Once you feel comfortable with concepts and have completed basics (stage 2), you can start to factor in the time taken for solving each question from around midway through stage 3. From here on till the end, you can monitor your timings extensively.
      Best wishes for your preparations!

    I have scored about 590-600 (Q41,V31) in my mocks and I am tacking the exam in two weeks. Is it possible to reach 650? Should I focus more on Quant or on Verbal?

    • @Wizako
      @Wizako  3 года назад

      Yes, it is possible to score 650. Revisit the mocks you took and go through the mistakes you've made. Solve those questions again and if need be, get your concepts clear. Regarding Quant or Verbal, I would suggest you focus on Quants as any score above Q46 and with the same V31 will fetch you a score of 650+
      Best wishes for your GMAT!

    I revised my school books, my engineering books, my course material for last 3 months and I am still unable to solve even a single Quant question till now. I must have practiced around 600-700 questions so far, I am that weak in maths and now I am loosing hope and feeling disappointed. I could not solve even 1 question in practice set or mocks.

    • @arishahidayetkhan9419
      @arishahidayetkhan9419 3 года назад +2

      Try solving easier Quant questions first. Dont start with high level questions and dont set timer in the beginning. Try solving and understanding the concept. Look at the solution if you cant solve. Revisit the same problem after few days to check if u retained what you learnt from the solution. Its class 9th and 10th maths basically on steroids 😂. Good luck.

    • @Wizako
      @Wizako  3 года назад +2

      Take one topic initially. Say, Averages. Understand the basics. Pick only easy questions from Averages from any source you have access to and solve. As you build momentum and confidence, you can navigate to tougher questions.
      Then start a second topic and build pace. Do not bother to set any time limit when solving at this phase of your preparation. Speed will definitely improve once you are confident about the concepts.

    hello sir, my last mock score ( kaplan) was 430 , my GMAT exam is on July 30th 2021 , I need 620 , I am currently working on basics, I currently have a ton of resources, am I stressing and confusing myself with different types of resources?

    • @Wizako
      @Wizako  3 года назад +2

      To get a 620 you can target a maximum score in either quant or verbal. Focussing on too many resources will not help your cause. Narrow down your resources to the GMAT Official Guide and any 1 structured course material for now. If you find time even after completing the above 2 then go for the other sources. Sir, Thank you for the insights. Should one get the basics right by revisiting class 9-10 Mathematics and then join classes or join a tuition and have the basics sorted then? So should one get into tuitions before or after the step 2 of the process?

    • @Wizako
      @Wizako  3 года назад

      Ideal situation is that you revisit 9th and 10th math and then start classes.
      Practical advice - we all start with good intentions and belief that we will have the discipline to revisit school math. Most often, we end up not sticking to the schedule that we set.
      Joining a class is the equivalent of throwing you in the deep. You will find a way to swim to the surface. So, unless you are super confident about sticking to a study plan to revise 9th and 10th syllabus, join a course. You will have someone pushing you to study.

      Hi Supriya,
      First up, don't get tensed. It's good that you've already taken up the diagnostic test and got to know where you stand. You need to dedicate at least 300 hours for your preparation in quants and verbal to get a good score in the GMAT.
      Start from the absolute basics. Build concepts from thereon and practice questions rigorously. As you build momentum and confidence, you can navigate to tougher questions in both the sections.

    Good Evening Sir. Hope you are doing well and safe. I am terribly bad in math and have lost connection with the subject from last three years. Is it possible for me to crack the exams with a good score by self study? if yes, then how much time it would take for me as per your idea? It would be really great if you can give me a little perspective on this. Thanking you in appreciation. Good day!

    • @Wizako
      @Wizako  3 года назад +2

      Yes, it's definitely possible to clear the GMAT by self study. The time invested in search might be high if you are looking for free resources over the internet. Going with a well structured course by a provider might be a better idea. However if you feel you need an external aid or help from a mentor for your preparations, two way live classes is your best bet as many classroom programs have been halted due to covid restrictions. Any test taker requires about 300-350 hours of minimum preparation for the GMAT (including all sections).

    Sir, what is the importance of applying in first round? Do we get any advantage of first round?

    • @Wizako
      @Wizako  3 года назад

      Applying in round 1 increases your chances of admission as: It shows serious intent and planning to the admission committees. It also conveys that a particular business school is your first preference and their admission committee could reward you with an admit as well as a scholarship.
      First round applications, in the statistical sense, also tend to offer the highest chance of acceptance as schools will often take the largest fraction of applicants from this pool while also being a smaller pool than the second round. Therefore, you have a higher chance within a smaller pool.

      Hi Keshav,
      GMAT score is valid for 5 years. If you're done with your preparations, it's highly recommended that you take your GMAT now. We highly recommend taking the GMAT early, as you can spend the time leading up to the application deadline on your actual application essay questions. Also, if you aren't satisfied with your score, you would have a lot of time to prepare and give your next GMAT.

      Hi Vignesh,
      Your GMAT score and work experience will play a crucial role in your applications if your U.G. scores are poor. People with low U.G. scores have indeed made it to good business schools with a high GMAT score and work experience. I would recommend you to get started with your GMAT prep right-away if you're interested in doing an MBA. GMAT quants is not that difficult unlike M3. It basically tests your aptitude and basic high school math concepts! If learnt from the absolute rudimentary basics in the right manner, GMAT quants is an easy nut to crack.
