- MandRproductions reviews the 1999 LEGO Star Wars 7150 Tie Fighter & Y-Wing set! The set features some rough designs, especially for Darth Vader's TIE Fighter with a very hard to access cockpit space! The Y-Wing on the other hand isn't half bad!

I find it funny how on the box art that Vader is just chillin in the trench
He be vibing
He is havin’ a Vibe checkin’
Wait, Vader can't hear the Y-Wing coming at him! He's got airpods on!
He is in a hanger not the trench.
LEGO Boba Fett it could be the hanger but from the design from the box art it is in the trenches of the Death Star
Still better than the stud launchers they have now
Supersheep 859 to be honest I would rather take them than there’s
It do be like that do
*stud shooters
OLd GoOd, NeW BAd (it is a joke)
Anyone else enjoy the simplicity of Darth Vaders tie fighter? Ahhhhhh the nostalgia....
thats what i like about the older lego sets. there are little to no technic mechanics and its just straight forward bricks
Childhood nostalgia man, I think this was my first Lego set
Lego darth Vader be like "I find the lack of printing disturbing."
Random Stuff just about to comment the same thing
I would love to see a modern remake. Roughly the same price and piece count, new pieces and techniques.
If they make it today it don’t matter if the piece count is the same its gonna be like 130 bucks cause of how money has changed
Ah I loved this set as a kid!
The y wing has evolved so much over the years
I think you keep forgetting the context in which these 1999 sets were released.
It's not only that they were the 1st Star Wars sets ever released...it's that LEGO was NEAR BANKRUPT when they released them. So when you keep that in mind, you'll probably start appreciating how amazing the sets were back then and how just financially impossible it would be for LEGO to make them with the level of detail of today.
Not only that, we in 1999 clearly loved them. So much so that these sets were responsible for saving LEGO from their end. Keep that in mind ;)
I was looking for this, and I remember when these launched. I wanted this set so much, but couldn't afford it. Got the snowspeeder and landspeeder instead, both of which I really liked.
So much bang for your buck with these sets back then, though. Two ships that, honestly for the times and for a kid, look great in one set, damn.
3:00 - that face print was pretty common back in the 90s - you could find this figure in most helicopters and other such sets at the time. If I recall correctly, it originated in the Aquazone line from 1995 (yes, I'm an AFOL that's about 12 years older than you).
Ryan: This is awful it looks awful I hate it awful and also bad.
Me: I love it 🥺
This was the first Lego Star Wars set I got as a kid. The nostalgia!!
You expect way too much of sets that are 20 years old...
You know, I wish they kept making all the unique pilots from a new hope, I’m really bummed out about that.
I have the re-release from 2004 and I've lost a couple pices from the Y-Wing. Still a great set after 17 years.
This is so nostalgic for me since I had the blue tie fighter with the light-up Darth Vader. It still looks really good to me to this day (even the blue parts)
Interestingly if you look closely in the original movies, when the TIE Fighters move fast in Space Battles or when they chase the Millenium Falcon through the astroid field, they appear blue instead of grey.
If I was born before 1999, this would surely be THE set I would beg for! It’s soooo good!
THIS IS WHERE THE FUN BEGINS
I have the exact set! My three older brothers loved LEGO Star Wars(they’re 26 and 29 now, two of them are twins and are 26)and our dad just threw all their LEGOS into big bins and I was going through them a couple days ago and I found the cockpit of the TY-Fighter and I rebuilt the Y-Wing.
Bro build it all
Jordan Redgrave. I can’t find all the pieces
Dad just threw all their Lego *sets*
That’s sad
2:51 LINDE!
You pretty much have enough Legos to stock a whole Lego store in your bedroom……
You mean Lego *sets?*
I got this set for my 30th birthday back in 1999. Now I'm trying to search through my boxes of Lego to remake the Tie fighter, 22 years later :-)
Would love to watch earlier but 3 people uploaded at the exact same time
Go man
Can you do a comparison video on all 3 sets please I would like to see the changes that they made through the years.
Love your vids
Hey Ryan, if you where to get any free LEGO set, what would it be?
Personally i would like a free 501st
Battle pack
I would buy this back in the day if I saw this in a store when it came out!!!
I still have those models, I was so happy when I got those.
The 2005 TIE advanced that was re released has a much better design-it has an extended center section that represents a hyperdrive
Yeah, I see all the common Lego pieces from the space legos of the 80's and early 90's from when I was a kid.
Space Lego *sets*
Loving that they reused an Aquanauts head for Dutch Vanders!
I have this set you said that Dutch Vander's eyebrows are off set mine are not. So I wonder how many have this problem. I did get mine in 1999.
Alternate title: Ryan judges one of the first sets in the entire line based off of criteria from 20 years later.
Its pretty crazy to think that this set in my vision its an interpretation of anankin trying to kill his past since ani had an y-wing.
At 4:45 did he have a voice crack, Love your videos they help me when it comes to Lego
Great video
I like how Darth Badger is just, Vibing on the trench
fuck it, badger vibing to sims 2 soundtrack
Holy hell, I had this set's rerelease!
I need someone’s opinion, should I buy a used Poe Damerons Black and Orange X wing w no Character for 40 Bucks? I have the Poe Dameron character though so it doesn’t rly matter.
Where do you find these mint condition sets they look so authentic and not use.
Great vid!
Where did you buy this set??? I love this set very much ❤️❤️❤️. Because I want to buy it.
I just found your channel a couple years ago and you are litteraly exactly like me
Gus Klann I’m not saying this in a rude way, like fr, but how is he exactly like u, is it in exterior looks or?
Plz notes me I have been loving the vids
Do
a series of vids like 2000 v 2020 or 2017 v 2011 plz
Not a fan of Vader's TIE Advanced here but this Y-Wing is beautiful. It's so simple, and that's what makes it awesome.
I'd love to just display that next to other old LEGO Star Wars sets.
ep3 sets also had these ship combos
I have a question maybe someone can help me. How do you know if a Lego is complete? Someone is selling me this Lego set 7150 the box is opened but all the baggies that come inside are all closed so I can't count all the pieces because I don't want to open them since this is going to be a gift. However I would be upset if the person I gift this too tells me it is incomplete once they start building it :( please someone help me
I wonder what Dutch Vander's plan is.
Incredible
Excellent design. Wow.
I remember I really wanted this set back in the day because it was the only way you could get darth vader. I had some money saved and could not make up my mind between this and the lego pyramid/temple from the adventures line.I ended up not buying this one, and actually I don't regret it because two years later you could get the darth vader figure for cheap in the emperor's throne set!
hiii love your vids
Classic set my dude
I got this, the Rogue One Y-Wing is way better. Have you heard about the two new SW busts (Boba and Stormtrooper)?
ofc it is dumbass. this was made in 1999, and LEGO was almost bankrupt back then. literally over 20 years since this was out.
My first lego star wars set was 2005 Y wing, and it's still 4+ model. But this because of nostalgia is 12/10. I don't see a problem with things that you said even compare to modern models, which I like only 2017, and others .. bleh... I WANT COMPARISON OF Y WINGS. And there 1999 would be my absolute winner. I so love that simple (bad mean simple) design designions, but it's tataly amazing and charming. I love that lego period... before they star to do more accurate sets and more clean, lowering the fun and playabilitys. Unfortunate only no bomb storage with dropping it. But even I can't wait for Skywalker Saga, I want a comparison of y wings from you :3
And now, watching your reviews, I now want to do "my favourite star wars sets" and I have only couple of them. But that's ok. I'm so lazy to do dust job and there is no such space on my apartment for them. And they really expensive after all)
Thank you for videos. I really love them)
I remember getting this in 1999, I was 6 :D
Wy is this the first build with vader also why is he wust standing in space?
where did you buy it
Fantastic tie advance x1 👍😁
I use to have this ehen I was younger
Why does the Y wing look like it’s blue from the box but when you open it it’s yellow and gray?
Cause you’re colorblind
Niceee!Great set
Such a nice Darth Vader 😁I like the og better
Nice classic set
holy shit that alternate battering ram XDDD
When I was little me and my family went to a thrift store and I was stupid at the store I saw this set and the original x-wing set for 20 bucks each and I didn’t get either one of them
Dutch's head is a reuse from the Space Police II minifig
Do you have all the y-wings now? Can we exept comparison video soon?
@@supremeleadergnkdroid3202 yes, did not realize typo, fixed it
2:50 I have a plan
I LOVE IT ALL!!!!👍🏻👍🏻
Did you see Jang's new review format?
Still good even now
The best 1999 set in my opinion
Back in the day, this was the best Lego set ever. I have fond memories of getting this from my parents and playing with it as a kid. I still have the Vader figure from the set safely tucked away in the Episode 7 Millennium Falcon to be saved in my case.
Hey Ryan how is your day.👍
imagine being a kid in 1999 and getting this on christmas
This was a steal.
Can you review the OG Republic Gunship
Hey MandR i have $400 to spend on lego what set should i buy
your camera is so quuality that i can see the dust on the figures lol
hey mandr i have a question btw this isn't for ask mandr this is just a random question.

Nice stream yesterday
I literally just got this as well
Nice
I couldn’t tell what I was looking at in the thumbnail lmao
i’m thinking abt getting it
Decent set for the time
*Dutch Vander* seems too similar to *Dutch Van Der* Linde from Red Dead Redemption. Did Rockstar just make an homage to Star Wars or what?
How can I buy in Amazon with the channel support?
Convusquey255 you can get a used one on eBay for a lot cheaper
@@cheezysheen2984 oh thank you bro for the info
The front part of the cockpit of the Y-wing is pretty block not gonna lie.
I went on walmart.com and found the rynheart and diva lego set for 23 bucks and its originally 40
