Still have faith. I'd give him another full season. This was just a weird season. Lots of highs without something to show for it but also a lot of shocking performances.
I think, much like Arteta at Arsenal, we have to give the man a full -hopefully injury light- season based on rescuing us from rock bottom in first half season and 4th in the first full season.
History at Bournemouth proves that Eddie can 100% be the man that takes us to the next level. People moaning about half a billion spend are forgetting that we haven't had services of most of that spend. (Tonali, Barnes etc).
Pope being gone was the game changer for me. The defense looks piss poor. If the best defense in the league last season is the worst defense this year, it cannot just be about Eddie losing the plot. It is far more likely because Pope is the foundation of that back 5. The way we play is markedly different with Dubs.

We need to go with two defensive midfielders against Man City who track the runners. We know they specialise in playing between lines. If we play a counter-attacking game here it might suit us with the attacking midfielder as Willock and Isak up front with Almiron and Gordon/ Murphy on the wings.
I get disappointment from Jan but we are paying for lack of depth and so many injuries.
Need some perspective yes right or wrong but we have not got enough youth to rely on like the top 4 teams.
Eddie needs support a long with the team it been hard year for him.

At some point Eddie you need to stop being so loyal to under performing players. Sean Longstaff should be no where near the squad after his performances lately. He was an asset to us last season due to his work output; constantly chasing the ball and getting stuck in, now he jogs around doesnt go in for a tackle and everything looks half arsed. If hes not training well and under performing why are you still playing him?

Other options could be Jose Mourinho or Thomas Tuchel, with the availability of these coaches putting even more pressure on Howe to perform.

I can't fault the way he handles himself professionally, but the tactics he's been using the last few months has been nothing short of appaling, we've gone backwards to the bruce era because Howe refuses to adapt formation or drop players that are playing awful, and you can't use the excuse of injuries or being 17 when you play Burn over tino or Botman over Lascelles

Thanks for the Journos who asked important questions like why Longstaff is playing every single game. Some of you other lot need to give your heads a wooble. Imagine wasting your time asking what do you make of the fans travelling on away days and such softy questions. Toon fans endured the dross put on by Mike Ashley, their commitment is unquestionable in fact the levels are bizarre; maybe they should start shouting a bit more at the players given how they are playing lately.
The manager saying you can't regurgitate the same thing and expect deferent results... haha. Are you listening to yourself, man? How many times were people shouting do not put Big Dan Burn against the fastest wingers, and how many times he was rinsed? The manager saying he prefers players to play in their natural position but plays CB as LB. Try to be consistent, at least!
The manager says he does not have any midfielders, recalls Joe White who was having a good season at his loan club and parks him on the bench. Meanwhile Sean Longstaff carries on with an injection. The manager travels without an attacking option on the bench while having both Isak and Gordon play with an increased risk. Ben Parkinson is no where to be seen since his cameo at Dortmund and Bournemouth. I am sure he would not mind the odd minutes running around while Isak strolls on the pitch spent and unable to run or pressure.
When people ask you if you were angry, it is not because they want you to be violent or abusive. It is because whatever you are saying is not translating on the pitch. Maybe they can move the training pitch to the stadium for better results? Might I remind you, David Santon was a starter for Inter Milan at the age of 18. If you do not play your youngsters they are not going to develop. Alex Murphy was decent in pre-season, why is he not given a chance? Especially when we need bodies and we need to play our youth so that they get experience. You can't flog them on the transfer market if you do not play them.
Why do you wait so long to make a substitution? KDB came on shortly after half time, why was not a man-marking player was not substituted immediately. Isak was doing nought the whole second half and we were barely out of our half (same situation at PSG in Paris). Sure you are the manager and you decide the tactics but at least do not give an excuse, like there was nothing to try and we just close our eyes and hope for the best.

Problem I have or we have is, Eddie says one thing which is usually the same, same pattern no individual criticism of players, saying we haven’t had luck and we need to have a go, but then the players are doing the complete opposite.
We are scoring goals. We’ve done that all season. In fact, had Callum Wilson or Joelinton have been a tad fitter and a tad better against Dortmund we’d have scored and made it 1-1 at home and this would have been enough to do something else. Our season has been plagued not just with injury, but players playing without fully being fit. Not up to speed and as we’ve discovered in Europe and in the league and in the league cup, that’s caused problems and people instead of knowing this have overanalysed everything and picked faults in the whole unit. Over expecting also. Expecting us to get out a group of death, but there again good job we did because the injuries and poor fitness and performances carried on and we’d have really struggled more so.
But back to my point we’ve always scored goals. 8 against Sheffield, 5 against Villa and then 3, 4 against Luton, 2 against Man City, lpool, bmouth, 4 against Chelsea and then 2, 3 agasint Fulham and then 2, it goes on and on 3 against forest. But because of the imbalance with fitness, it’s very easy for players to get caught in situations. No one listens to Eddie.
This being said, after the city game we have winnable games. We will rest regroup and train. In warmer weather which I’m not a fan of considering how ineffective the tour of USA was, and we go again and can score, but the other end is a disaster.
We get players back and then we lose some. It’s not just one a month it’s constant. He’s had this all season long including the summer! Gordan comes off against Chelsea (cos he was tired not cos of knee in my view) and everyone still expects us to score three goals - doesn’t work that way! You need players for this! Especially attacking players. We barely have any but we score goals bcos we have good players who do that.
Another thing, Eddie just said we trained very very lightly yesterday barely at all cos of the busy schedule. But then just said they do a full session today. Only a day before they face Man City away! It’s odd. Either they need a rest cos of the schedule or they don’t, and training full before this game can’t do the players much good! So better decisions need to be made not just better fitness!

You were spot on up to last paragraph. On the training intensity a coach will always do a full training session close to a competitive game, so he can establish who's sharp, who's fit. Funny game football, and EH has not had it easy this season HWTL.

Very rarely do we or anyone do a full 3 hour session less than 24hours before a huge game lad. Happens but not for us in months.

Yeah - so he wants to protect Miley just because 'he's young' but doesn't want to protect Longstaff, who is injured and hasn't trained properly and doesn't play well if he doesn't train regularly!?! No consequences for underperforming for those favourites.

We are playing one of the top teams in the world, so maybe some things shouldn't come as a surprise. Bar Arsenal and Liverpool every other team in the premier would have their hands full going to Man City. I’m sorry to say this I don’t wanna say it but here it is, Eddie can’t change everything that went wrong at Bournemouth is now happening to us. He’s so stuck in his ways it’ll be his,downfall unless he can change this which I don’t think he can then I’m afraid he won’t ever excel at the top.. The bigger question is who else is out there that will come into a club so scared to spend money? No top top manager wants to come here for the fans they come if they can spend and spend big.. What planet are you on? Did Bruce ever get anywhere near European competitions, let alone winning CL games? If anything we overachieved last year and we’re paying the price now. A few injuries, plus a dip in form and we look very average.
I do agree that there seems to be some favouritism….Longstaff and Burn are obvious examples, but something is definitely going on with Botman too. If players aren’t 100% fit, don’t play them. Our defensive record last year was fantastic with the same group of players, so I suspect our inconsistent and often injured midfield is playing a huge part. Joelinton is a huge miss.
Eddie Howe needs replaced asap.

Eddie's time is up for me, getting really fed up with all these excuses, we need a better manager in the summer in my opinion. Clearly no ambition with our owners if Eddie is allowed money to spend in the summer on more wasters.
Which player(s) has Eddie brought in that have been wasters? I think he recruited well - some Dan Ashworth acquisitions have been concerning ie Lewis Hall and Harrison Ashby (not reckoning on the Tonali situation). I think EH needs another one or two transfer windows before we really can pass any judgement imho
I don’t really understand where “Eddie makes bad signings” has come from, most of his signings have been great and the ones that weren’t got moved, either on loan or got sold

We've scored a LOT of goals this season. The problem is, our defence has been awful. Even with our injuries, we'd be a lot higher in the table. Last season, it was the draws that stopped us going even higher. This season, fine margins and individual errors have turned those draws into losses and pretty much a 50/50 split of wins and losses. Injuries have played a MASSIVE part in our season. In October we were top in XG and all other stats. I still trust in Eddie and the lads to fight back. 🖤🤍
That's because the midfield are caught up the pitch and don't help...we also have lacked goals in certain games...
