    • @sunny5rising
      @sunny5rising  6 лет назад

      They are set like the standard 1st quadrant Cartesian coordinate system. Maybe it looks weird because unlike a standard mill, the routers y axis is not a table movement. I think that is what you are referring to. If standing above the machine, x0 y0 is lower left.

      Yeah, if the switches are wired Normally Open then they will be setup Active Low. If you use the Auto Setup of inputs, as in the video, the mode will be detected automatically.

The gentry on -x- moves the same way even though I'm pressing { + or - } and the gantry will stick in 1 place so I'm losing place in the project. This is a CNC engrave 3040

    Hi Charlie
    Thanks for the video, really helped. However, I got little problem I can not solve.
    Mach 3 recognise that the switch on my Z axis has been opened only once! Looking at the diagnostics tab, I can see that the little yellow indicator representing the switch, stays lit after firs press and no matter what I do, I won't turn off.
    I have to restart Mach, it's off again. I press the switch manually, the yellow button lits up but stays on again. As a result, homing isn't working on the Z axis because Mach sees the home button constantly pressed (opened).
    I tried "noise filtering", didn't work, I'm out of ideas here.
    Thanks
    Jay

    • @sunny5rising
      @sunny5rising  6 лет назад +1

      Provided that the switch is good, the wiring and connections are good, and the settings are correct, perhaps try routing the Z Axis wiring further away from motors and gang wiring, if you haven't tried that.
      Have you tried another switch? Have you tried wiring the Z Axis normally open (change settings to match) to see if that makes a difference?
      Just throwing out things here to check.

    • @vrflightsimUK
      @vrflightsimUK 6 лет назад +1

      well, I just found out that the problem persists even when I disconnect the switches from the controller and "jump" the pcb pins manually.
      Why could this be happening?
      Thanks, Jay

    • @sunny5rising
      @sunny5rising  6 лет назад

      Is it only the Z axis giving you problems, or X and Y also?

    • @vrflightsimUK
      @vrflightsimUK 6 лет назад

      It was the only Z but more I dig around, Y started playing up as well. Not as bad as Z but there is some few seconds delay before the status LED goes off.

    • @sunny5rising
      @sunny5rising  6 лет назад

      More questions... Are you using a parallel port cable from PC to Controller (as in NO USB connection)? USB could possibly be an issue as Mach3 was not designed for it. Also, Is the operating system on your PC 32 bit ? 64 bit is not recommended for Mach3.

  • @alexandersievewright3842

    Input value soft max (X, Y, Z) is from??
    From bed size and Z travel sir??

    • @sunny5rising
      @sunny5rising  3 года назад

      First, I sent the machine home. The axes were then set to zero. Then I manually moved all axes to their maximum safe positions and used the numbers from machine coordinates DROs to set the soft maximums. In the Z, maximum is zero and the minimum is the lowest point of the stroke (Z Neg) of the machine. How this helps.

  • @MazenAlgeneral
    @MazenAlgeneral 5 лет назад

    How can I adjust the machine limits without limit switches?

    • @sunny5rising
      @sunny5rising  5 лет назад

      I don't know for sure that you can, without limit switches. Might be possible if you move the machine axes to a given spot then zero all. This would be your machine zero. From here you would set up the soft limits as in the video. This method won't give you the accuracy between shutdowns because you have to re-zero machine zero every start up. That's my two cents, lol.

  • @andirachmatmulya2818

    Dear Charlie, you mention in the picture "Wired active high" what does it mean?

    • @sunny5rising
      @sunny5rising  3 года назад +1

      "Wired Active High": It means that the limit switches are wired Normally Closed and the Mach3 input pins are set Active High (Voltage is present throughout the switch circuit). Under normal running conditions, Mach3 expects to see constant voltage through the switch. Once the limit switch is pressed, the switch opens and the voltage is cut, triggering the event.
      "Wired Active Low" is the opposite. Switch wired Normally Open. Mach3 Input pins set to Active Low (No voltage present). Once the switch is pressed, voltage is present and triggers the event.
      Hope that helps,
      Charlie

      Slaving the rotary axis to another axis will cause the rotary to only move when you move the axis it is slave to. It's not a normal setting. Do a search on my channel for Rotary Axis Configuration. This video should help you out with the rotary.
