Amazing, she’s on the show to sing, slays it! And yet, announcer introduces her as actress and dancer. No one ever credits what an incredible triple threat she was,,,,, and could do it live, in a theater! Remember, body mic’s were in their infancy; you had to belt, and boy could she! But, it wasn’t until I watched interviews after she’d written her biography did I realize the genius of survival, determination, and guts this woman possessed. During her most famous number performed in the movie Easter Parade, where she sang and tapped her ass off, she wore a body cast under her costume due to a broken back: her husband threw her off the balcony. As if this wasn’t enough, it turns out she’d lied about her age in order to get part in the classic film “ Backstage” with Katherine Hepburn and ginger Rodgers. She proved great comedic chops and held her own. 16 yrs old! God bless her, she was my favorite female tap dancer. She just also happened to sing and act and chew up life’s adversities and spit them out! K. m ,, Florida

Damn, had never seen this before, and it's as fun as any classic film number. Wished it was in color, but it seems Hollywood Palace didn't switch to color until a few episodes later. Amazing to think the work that went into this, for basically just one shot to show it off. Thank God this recording survives!

Although I love it, and Ann Miller, horns tight, rhythm section right up front and tight, however,
    this is bordering on Apostasy.
“Bill Bailey” has to be treated with respect, as far as modifications go.
Call me “old timey” if you want to, but I think these old vaudeville gimmicks need to be treated with respect, and not modernized, as such.
