    He is my ex boss. I worked in Indochine as part-time when I studied in Singapore and later working full time job and went back there and enjoy. Thank you Michael Ma and hope more successful.

    Keep us posted about the Phuket investment. I bought a condo in Kamala beach in 2019 that was supposed to be ready a few months after and never got finished. The developer (Blue Horizon) ran to Panama with all investors money. Best Western was also involved.

      Oh wow, that's so unfortunate :( Yes, such cases happen in Thailand and Indonesia. You should be careful when choosing a developer.
      As for the guys from Layan Green Park, I'm 100% confident in them! My condo is nearly complete. The grand opening is in just two months.

    You learn everyday something new, like shophouse in Singapore has a 999 year lease.Gosh, I used to be a used car dealer and learn to solve one car at a time lol . Invest in something tangible that generate income.

    The Spotify seed round offer - Michael shouldn't beat himself up about missing that. $1m seed is a lot of cash if it represents a significant portion of your portfolio and as he said "it's a bit much". He's a smart man to not take that offer because in an alternate universe, Spotify could have gone to zero. I'd once more push back on his idea of putting capital into property. As an asset class, it's not as liquid as owning equity in businesses via the stock market. He could run a simple rate of return calculation on his property portfolio via the S&P 500. I'm curious to see if his properties returned more than just investing in the market.

    I am lucky too. My father fled China to Malaysia when he was 11 yrs old and alone. He fled Malaysia during ww2 to spore with his wife my mom. 😅

    How do you buy a property as a foreigner in Phuket? Is it straight forward or you have to do all kinds of stuff like in Bali?

      For a foreigner, you can choose leasehold for 90 years or freahold. Pretty straightforward. Not like Bali

      You pay a heap of under the table cash to the then chief of Phuket immigration and acquire Thai nationality and the passport. That's how he did it.

      You can find them in business or work setting, many of them do not socialise much unless it’s for business. But first you need to have certain qualities beforehand

    Love the channel, but foreigners can't buy freehold landed property in Thailand. Ownership of chicken cage apartments are allowed. Good luck with it

Foreigners can't own freehold houses, bungalows, land etc. I know some use company structures etc, but this is a very grey zone, fraught with difficulty. I enjoy your channel btw.     Also be careful the realtors in phuket will try to show you propertys on west coast because they get kick backs from projects, east is alittle farther from ther offices and dont like showing east coast no kick backs??

    200k USD for a 1 bedder over at Phuket is absurd even with the assume ROI. Aside from being a tourist spot there is not much concrete infrastructure development for the island. Just because this guy you interview is well off doesn't means he is always right with his investments. Tourists are especially fickle minded, no one knows for sure if Phuket will always remain a hot spot.

    Phuket has no earthquakes and volcanoes etc., what about tsunami? How could anyone forget 26 December 2004 when some 250 tourists died in that tsunami?
