  • We caught up with Sebastian Barry at the Borders Book Festival, where his DAYS WITHOUT END was named 2017 winner of the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction.
The Prize's younger sibling is the Young Walter Scott Prize: open to writers aged 11 to 19, it's the UK's only creative writing prize for young people dedicated to historical fiction. Sebastian gave these words of encouragement to any young person thinking of becoming a writer.
