I find it really disappointing to see that the Kongo AI is not making use of the Mbanza's at all, cutting down all the rainforests for Farms is not something Kongo is supposed to do. This is yet another disappointing fact about the Civ 6 AI that the AI doesn't seem to be really programmed to make use of their unique buildings and bonuses.
Civ has never been known to have good AI. I mean, just looking at the difficulty levels, where tuning only adjusts AI adcantages/cheats, and not the AI behavior, should be an indicator of where their priorities lie when making a game. Proper AI takes a tonne of time and effort (money) to make, and it seems that the people behind Civ are happy with it just being semi functional so they avoid bad ratings. The developers make these same AI only battle to fine tune them, so to me it seems they just try to program certain patterns and then they consider it a done deal.
Cape Town equivalent city in South Africa, or Liverpool England looks safe and pretty with the harbour and cultural influence of the Hermitage wonder, beautiful btw :)
So far the only civilizations to conquer any cities are Germany conquering France's Bordeaux, Rome conquering Greece's Olympia, and the Aztecs conquering both La Venta and Norway's Sarpsborg.
Hey Drew! Love the videos, I would like to make a couple AI battle suggestions that I think would work. TSL Europe only (duh!) TSL Europe with the Atlantic (for colonialism) Or, a game I've actually played and enjoyed a ton... A TSL Earth with all Civs MINUS: America Brazil Aztec Congo Sort of creating a "Colonial Empire" environment. I've actually played a game as England on a map with those settings and it becomes a TON of fun.
I would live in Jabalpur in South america, if you see off the coast there are shipwrecks which would be awesome for sea diving, also the view from he coast would be excellent!
America & England Vs. Congo & Norway, with Spain being invaded by both England & the Congo, niice, pretty much WWI ig, shame it might've ruined England's invasion of Spain.
Anyway you could ad a little balance by maybe putting in two congos, Brazil's, and or aztecs? Or if maybe can the tightly packed civs get put on easier difficulty? I'm imagining like if Europe got 3 setters each but the Congo gets 1 as they have easier access to great cities. Just a thought.
I definitley would not want to live in Aztec territory, considering how brutal they were and how advanced they are in this universe compared to our actual universe. My choice would be Brazil honestly. They're up there in terms of leaderboards. And like you said, they're friendly. They've sort of tried to be passive (but the Aztecs were aggressive towards them)
The Spectral King France may not have an advanced army but they can fend themselves, and Paris is in a strategically good position to visit any other cities

Kongo, I'd want to live anywhere in the Kongo. The most prosperous, peaceful and advanced nation in the game. Couldn't ask for a better Civ. Also, I would choose Kongo as winner.

Personally I think African civs are WAY too overpowered, which doesn't just make it a lot less fun but is also extremely unrealistic. Same goes for South America - a great power ALWAYS comes out there! Maybe the terrain in Africa should just be complete garbage - that might make it more realistic.
The problem of South America and Africa in the real world that has hampered its growth has always been corrupt government and European exploitation in these territories, Civilization 6 only shows how the world would be different if everyone had their own land til unexplored and everyone cared only with the growth of their own nation.
I disagree, Africa *IS* rich, so yes it should remain the way it is. Personally, I like seeing larger powers develop on their own. However with the current Civs a TSL Earth game might be boring. Now, a TSL Europe... I think has a LOT of potential to be a LOT of fun.
