This map is really poor in amenities. I think that's what happened to Poland. In the future, it might be worthwhile look for a map that's rich in luxury resources and low on strategic resources. That way, the AI's would have the amenity base to prosecute long wars and still have a reason to fight. If the luxuries were clustered into geographical regions it would also encourage long-distance alliances.
I think he took the amenities icons off the map, so all we see are strategic resources. It's really a shame, since we have no clue about the underlying quality of cities and civs. Say, for instance, Germany settled in Scandinavia for furs and diamonds. If that is the case, I would upgrade those cities for them, since they're carrying weight within the civ. We don't know. In terms of assessing the quality of a civ, I think it has some bearing on figuring out who's doing best. Not a ton, but some. If Spain is swimming in ivory, cocoa, marble and silk in North Africa, that fact may impact the opinion of at least a couple of viewers towards making a decision.
Those green diamond areas are National Parks, they provide tourism and amenities for nearby cities. Russia has a ton of them, so Peter might have had Environmentalist as his 2nd agenda. Its actually a good thing that the AI has build so many National parks, the AI is usually really bad at keeping their amenities up so this could've really helped them. They build way to few entertainment complexes in the mid-game and early late-game, which often results results in them being ravaged by rebels.
The real shame here is Poland's inability to maintain an amenity upkeep. Either through national parks or entertainment complexes. Both campaigns, Poland has had rebel after rebel and never had any military.
I'm sure you have your reasons Drew, but I would love to let the game run until they start nuking the crap out of each other. It would be hilarious if say, Egypt got revenge on Arabia for example, or if Sumer obliterates Scythia, or if England suddenly dominated Europe via nukes. I'm not saying any of those things would actually happen, but it would be entertaining to find out. Maybe you could do it as an encore at the end?
Drew, I think you should decide the winner more based off of land conquered than stuff like population and colonization. Considering this is Military victory only, it should be the AI's fault for not attacking. My bet would probably be France now. They have a huge army, and are protected from Greece's army by Rome's territory. They are surrounded on all sides, but their only threat is Germany. Russia is also doing good, but they haven't really fought a big war, so they don't really deserve a military victory.
I'm liking how Rome is looking in this game. They're the only ones who have been constantly expanding and have had some of the few successes in wars. I guess Arabia has been similarly successful, so maybe it'd be between those two.
I'd say Poland can be written off over England. England her victory in the last series near the end and at that being the only civi to actually take cities in the modern era. But Poland is doing as bad, if not worst, like they did on the other series
Am I the only one that think that east of the map is way too large in this map? Like, western europe is cramped as it should be, but eastern doesnt feel realistic
Greece had a chance but they didn't take advantage of their temporary tech advantage & wasted their troops on a sea invasion, aye other than that it's been pretty much military stalemates & bloodless wars declared long distance/no interaction, xP about as bad as the last one.
yeah green isn't a glitch hes right national park, winner should be who has the highest score , some focus on military others cant afford it so they build a wonder or districts to get a good economy , they shouldn't be punished for it. most civs with big militarys lose all the units to debt have no wonders lots of land and barbarian modern armor units running through their lands. I played random starting locations random wonder location was Russia on deity started in Greece. they all had lots of land I just used the mountains had a great empire they were so overrun by barbarians every single tile was pillaged in Europe . they lost their commerce district couldn't afford their military I literally had 4 units go through and take over all Europe they couldn't afford to stop me it was like way too easy. whoever has the highest score should win . that's my opinion biggest civs don't mean crap if they cant even control their own land #go whitewalkers

I wish there'd be more national parks IRL.
The real shame here is Poland's inability to maintain an amenity upkeep. Either through national parks or entertainment complexes. Both campaigns, Poland has had rebel after rebel and never had any military.
Well, Russia had lots of land to itself and no notable conflicts - so might as well...
yea because I almost never use them

If you zoom in and just take a look at the game, it looks really good. All the little details, like little birds flying around and city lights.
Especially the light of the Lighthouses at night!
Yes, the lighthouses are awesome.

That moment when people have tanks and machine guns, yet you still use boats that you unlocked on turn 10.
Just some drunk vikings.
Amazing vids. Well done! We truly liked it.

*Sparta burning and has a rebel*
"Spartas Looking Okay"
really cool to see the ai actually help their allies and send troops to help.
I'd say Poland can be written off over England. England her victory in the last series near the end and at that being the only civi to actually take cities in the modern era. But Poland is doing as bad, if not worst, like they did on the other series
Correct me if i'm wrong, but isnt part of the reason that greece is constantly being attacked is because they own some one else's capital (sparta)
Can you play a challenge where you try to build or capture ALL the wonders?
spicydragonz that would be cool
I think that the green borders are national parks :)
13:05 as if you had never played the game lol
that spanish armada heading north took a detour from germanys scandanavian cities and headed to the east coast of britain
Maracanã is the new Birmingham
Matheus Ribeiro Maricána
I think Russia has by far the best military off you pay attention to them but I think Germany could if they only decided to
Am I the only one that think that east of the map is way too large in this map? Like, western europe is cramped as it should be, but eastern doesnt feel realistic
Welcome to the comment section! I mean to the meeting place with @Jack de Reduvo....
I would still love to live in Hafnarfjörður.
In game, not IRL. I'd prefer Reykjavík IRL.
nice new intro
You are my hero
Narvik was nearly perfect plased.
Toonga That's a new part of the YNAEMP
I'd say that Egypt cannot possibly win, and Norway, England and Sumeria are unlikely.
Well there goes my Spain pick...
really hoping to see some nukes soon
Same. That's the main reason we watch this! Well, not really, but whatever.
The Green borders are National parks.
what mods are you using?
Don't you mean Rome vacation to Spain in the title?
J_ duude Norway send it's army in the Balkans to help Trajan in the war
But drew never commented on that
Drew could you start Playing the forest, happy for reply
How do you download these maps? Is this the type of thing we can do at home just for fun?
Drew Forsyth this map is the ynaemp on the civ fanatics website
I am from Norway!
I plan on moving to Norway.
Why does the AI not use warplanes???
It would be way more easier to take cities. (Maybe my english is terrible, sorry for that, I'm from Germany.)
because neanderthals and knights are the same thing.
do you now that the names cities depending on there location
i am saying this because i am living in romania and ALL the cities are in the right place
Mircea golder101 that's a new part of the mod, every tile is another city name!
Philip Canoy nice
13:43 7 - 1 in a german stadium
Yolo dont ask me why it was cool saying yolo in the 9070
AI of some civs is just corrupted. And btw, it's deity but wars are disappointing, not eventful, cities taken really seldom.
Greece had a chance but they didn't take advantage of their temporary tech advantage & wasted their troops on a sea invasion, aye other than that it's been pretty much military stalemates & bloodless wars declared long distance/no interaction, xP about as bad as the last one.
next game ger rid of mountains plz
He can't-there's no IGE
Not even a single capital city taken in 300+ turns, civ 6 AI really sucks tbh
Philippe Desmarais Egypt lost its capital a few videos back by Arabia
Why does the world hate Greece. I kinda feel bad.
I'd use nukes to take Agranon
Exactly!
rome you got to distroy greec
