    Thank you Robert for all the info and assistance on the phone with me. Wealth of knowledge and great information. Huge props to you for taking time to actually call me back and discuss things with me. This is something not many companies do. Im starting my fixed wing FPV adventure with the 90mm Viper. That will be my trainer, then I'll be moving to a Black Horse Viper Jet MKII 120mm EDF and after that I think a large scale gas powered war bird would be fun. Some of the guys I fly with are getting interested in what Im doing and we have been talking about doing the dogfight thing in some WWII era planes. So, this is going to be crazy fun. Thanks again Robert and to those who support your efforts and product.

    • @motionsic
      @motionsic  2 месяца назад

      There’s a center button on the head-tracker. Always recenter - zeroing out the tracker signal before activating the gimbal before flight. Then after flight is finished, always deactivate the gimbal before taking the goggles off your head. It’s part of a pre-flight and post-flight checklist to ensure successful flight and equipment longevity🙂

      I don’t arm the O3 per se since I have not used a FC nor an Arduino armer board. I just turn off the auto lower power state from Goggles 2 Settings menu. It gives me clear visuals for flying at our RC field albeit not getting “full” transmission power.

    Why not just tap a 6S lipo to power the air unit directly? I have never considered using a UBEC to power my air unit. Usually i just use a UBEC to power an Arduino Arm circuit to make the air unit go into high power mode, increasing its power consumption from 10 to 13W. Personally I never fly FPV without a separate battery now. I use a 1500mAh 3S pack for my receiver and FPV gear with a UBEC for the reciever, and my air unit is powered directly from the 3S battery.

    • @polyscient
      @polyscient 2 месяца назад +2

      Having a separate controls power battery saved my Freewing F-22 once, when the terribly made BenchCraft EC5 2 to 1 Series Adapter melted apart after 3 minutes of full throttle on 8S. It went dead stick but I still had FPV and control, and landed. Never use that blue box peice of junk Motion RC sells to make two packs into one. Always use a wired Series connector. Inside the Benchcraft peice of garbage is a 12GA wire soldered sideways onto the thin edges of the connector cups. It should have 8 to 10 GA inserted into the cups and filled with solder. They built it to fail.

    • @motionsic
      @motionsic  2 месяца назад +1

      Sure the O3 air unit is capable of handling 6S. But I used the 12V UBEC to power the OG Air unit which was limited to 2S~4S voltage and never had any issues. And since the 12V UBEC only weighs 5 grams, I much prefer the weight savings this way vs carrying a separate 3S battery to power the air unit and worrying about the state of charge on the separate battery. The Arduino Arm circuit is a nice add.

    Hi pilots, I have a question,You guys use the magnetometer? because my head tracker some times starts drifting and I’m thinking on turning it off and try only with the sensors any advice?

    • @motionsic
      @motionsic  2 месяца назад

      @@ronygarcia8079 which firmware version are you using? If you are using V2.21, it WILL drift. We use V2.13 and the magnetometer to make sure it does not drift over time. If you are using the correct firmware. Make sure you do make magnetometer calibration properly.

    I just want to be able to BUY a RTF FPV airplane or heli as easily as I can buy a FPV Drone.
    Whoever makes that, and allows you to choose from models of the F22, F35, F16, F18 or any other popular fighter, will be RICH.

    • @motionsic
      @motionsic  2 месяца назад

      Understand your yearning. But those would be difficult for a FPV noob to fly successfully. And if too easily achievable, you bet an idiot would fly it into a building somewhere and ruin the hobby for everyone. So not sure any manufacturer/vendor would want that kind of liability. The riches you mentioned could easily be lost in lawsuits….
