X-Men fans be hating me for saying this, but this technically wasn't the first time the X-Men were going to crossover into DC comics boarders. (Detective Comics™)
Static Shock apparently had a canceled episode that was halfway through production before DC comics vetoed Kid's WB network's decision.
The X-Men would have come from an alternate universe where mutant Racism was even harsher than in Static's world, and the X-Men would be really surprised to find out that in DC universe, mutant racism wasn't as severe. This is what I read on a wikipedia page. Apparently Scott Summers played a big role in the episode's synopsis.

i know this is just a simple crossover ad but i can't help but point out the magneto car is leading the sentinels, literally robots made to hunt mutants like him, also having watched the show make it even worse.
