Looks great! One idea - could you have another of the submarines on the surface - split between levels, and maybe collecting some cargo from your freighter ship?
That would be good with more sticker surgery sub #96, and use the shiny drill point ! Then they can all use the code names of Huie, Duie, Luie & of course Scrooge (Screw-Ge) LoL.
I have a little transport sub thingy to do that. It was in an official set the previous time we had Deep Sea. I guess the free one could be up there but splitting it might be tricky, especially across the glass dome!
I kind of like the Brick silent Mary with the outline of the silent mary in the distance, makes me think of a site of a naval battle where several man-of-wars have been sunk
This looks so good. 👌 gives great inspiration for people to be able to build a display in a confined space when a whole room is not Available. .. "YET" LOL
I think if you have the base tunnel go into the rock face, you could then populate the back side of the rock face for an interior underwater cave/research type area. It could create an interesting area only viewable from the side of the cabinet and another venue for seeing scenes from multiple angles. Not sure how viewable it would be on that side with the other cabinet there unless the cave extended toward the front though. I really dig the look of having the tunnel kind of going off to another area. The shipwreck in the background pairs well with the foreground one.
@@RobinHoodBricks That would probably be even better as it may be able to benefit from the lighting type stuff further down. Or have something like part of a lava/steam vent type thing providing illumination to both sides.
It looks great, love it! And where you say it's really big, my first thought: wow, that cupboard is indeed huge if that massive building looks so small in there 😆
That's an amazing re-imagining of the original set. As an aside am I the only one bursting into a refrain of Parklife every time you said plant life? 😀
This...is.... impressive. Wow! That's a heck of a modification to extend it out even further at that top level! I definitely like what you did with the Submarine docking level -- looks great too! Bit surprised at how much space it actually takes up in the cabinet!
Yes, you need to mirror( that back extension of) your ocean exploration base, Robin, that will let you use the background as a way to explain away one submarine it's turning curve, while helping to hid the side of your wooden cabinet, next to it. The middle submarine is death ahead and the other submarine is then towards you. This would make it not only cleaner looking, it also lets it then fit in better with that particular position in the cabinet. Might want to think about a partial mills-plating, though, if only so you can better do the ravine in the seafloor effect. Would let you curve things a bit, if so wanted. Bigger problem would be the level below it, it's roof section, since it would need similar curving's for a full effect. The moment that ocean exploration base touches the background, you lose part of the look your going for, Robin. It really needs some distance between it and the background. Still think you are a bit mad with that extension, since it does not serve a real reason. How many of the really old submarine parts do you have, of those angled, not curved, yellow wall pieces? If you can simulate that really old white ocean exploration base, partly inside that wooden cabinet, then you might be able to split up your extension into three section, with two coming from said white (now yellow) base. This white (really yellow) base could then be a big moon-pool building in which the supply crates are delivered from the surface. It's that or a really big cargo submarine. As for the top mounted fans/screws, could they be part of the pumps that handle the airlocks & moon-pool? That's what you lack, a proper airlock setup, in-case the moon-pool(s) distance is too great and the nearest is still too far away. That I also find those two connector living tubs to play no roll at all.... You have to many of them, either use one big one or one small one, but not two with a almost useless middle setup. And if you alter the extension, rotate your base 90 degrees and then mirror mount that painted on window with it's module, you have one lower module with window, looking towards the background wreck, while the painted on window is then towards you, the viewer. So think about it all, a bit. Say, you seen Obi-One-Kenobi his new Lego Starfighter, yet? The Alien Cloner has a nice body, put a minifig head on it and you have one dressed lady. Do several and you have a dancing group.
In world, the wooden cabinet is not there. The water continues so there is no turning circle issue. Every joint can be sealed and therefore work as an airlock. As for the old yellow and white panels, I have a totally separate fun shape planned!
@@RobinHoodBricks Then perhaps beefing up those two interconnection tube, to say twice it's wide? That way it looks a bit better and not as un-needed space was. A dead end could be a room, but a connection tube.... You have two of them, beef them up. Perhaps looking into getting enough parts to lengthen one of them, to twice or 2.5 times it's length and putting in a airlock partway, so it looks to be a T section setup? Do beef up the airlocks. You already have shown how the connection points are without a module on them, so add some mass between this and the airlock door, so it can actually act as a airlock. And what about what looks like a connection tube, that goes off into the glass of the cabinet, letting it look as if part of the base is outside the cabinet? Mmm, the other connection tube could perhaps be beefed up to become one big moon-pool? That way the two fan turrets on it's side are to pump water & air and is thus the place where the supplies are brought too. Like say storage containers. Do you have a old lego locomotive plate with a empty mid-section for fitting a engine block & with wheels on it? That should give you a nice size of said module. You already have three potential containers, that you could use, from the original submarines.
Wow! This underwater base is really cool. Lots of details and great scenes. I'm hyped up for seeing that cliff build now😂! Looks awesome Robin, thanks!

Brilliant as always. Just an idea if you have any more yellow sections left could you add an other wing at the top on the right that goes off and touches the side glass of the cabinet to give the impression that there is more going on off screen. Again maybe a short one going off into the back that looks like it may lead to more of the base that is built into the cliff itself. Once again simply brilliant build. Keep them coming.
Unfortunately the shorter parts for a half unit done exist in yellow. They would be great to use if they did exist. I may add another section to the cabinet side but I'll need to build other stuff first I think!
Wow it looks amazing Robin! I love all the different levels and how the cliff face will be holding up part of the base. Your back drop in the cabinet is truly amazing as well. It definitely captures the old divers box art vibe. Keep up the amazing work!
Love how this base looks. I think though that you need another worker inside the dome where the octopus is; they need to have a terrified look on there face to give the base even more detail.
Awesome! So intricate and detailed. Just wanted to suggest that you move the funny drawing scene to the middle level pod that is sticking out at a 45 degree angle. That way the viewer can better see the girl inside and the diver’s pen.
That's pretty impressive! I also like the reflection of the station in the backdrop. It seems to go on from that camera angle. Not sure if that was by design but it looks cool anyway!
I like this waaaaaaay better than before. U should add a huge control center and use the huge trans blue quarter dome pieces(from space, much like the trans orange versions from the ice planet base) and have more of the yellow tunnels connecting them all together
One way to have it straddle two levels is to make the center column continue a bit further down and have the moon door come out onto the top of the lower level of the cabinet.
Looking excellent plus . We can already see how the cliff/rock face will really help this stand out. Might you even sneak something further on the top? Maybe a minifig getting propelled out of the fan or similar?
Haha, yes I'm sure. It's really hard to gauge how these things will look in place but I think the size is about right. It will be slightly higher as it'll be sat on rocks and sand target than just glass. Lots of room for sharks and submarines!
I'm a fan of the doors, but maybe change the colour of the doors to another colour? Maybe just a darker grey (if it's in that colour) as thete's a lot of light grey surrounding the doors so it looks a bit same-y. But everything else looks great!

Maybe the woman should be the one grafitting the dome window, since it is harder to explain using a marker in the water. Regardless, the scene is really clever!
Well, you certainly deserve to bdoing yourself for that one, looks ace! I noticed at 14:35 that you have hidden the module id stickers on the rear units facing the back of the cabinet. It’d be a shame to hide that extra bit of visual interest. I’m really looking forward to seeing how all these undersea levels come together. Bravo.
Thank you. I'll come back to the stickers. I may want to do more surgery to remove the numbers and have Living Quarters on some and so on. For now I've hidden them a bit!
Maybe a bit to early for this suggestion but you know how you said you were going to build a cliff I was thinking you could put a cave in the cliff to kind of tradition from the mane see level into the black light area an to build the cave you could use black tiles to make it look deep and dark
Robin, check out Lego Creator 31045, might give you the idea for a nice drone-submarine. It has two in it's design envelop, but while the smaller one is most likely the one that is of interest, here, the bigger one gives you the idea on how to add in the various thrust-er units that such a remote controlled drone would have. I also think that you might want to think about which way the back is oriented in terms of the base extension and the cabinet walls. Maybe a higher up dock for a bigger (supply) submarine or so?
Move the smiley face dome with the diver drawing on it 90 degrees anticlockwise, to where the door currently is, put the door back where the dome is. ATM lot of the detail of that scene is at hard to see, moving frount on should improve that.
Really awesome build as always, love it! Only one thing I've been trying to wrap my head around since pretty much the first episode in this series and I just can't figure it out: Why do you need the turntables in between the different layers of the station? Since the octagons are symmetrical, shouldn't you be able to attach them at an angle just the way they are? Surely I'm missing something and it's driving me nuts, so a little explanation would be greatly appreciated! Until then, keep up the awesome work :)
The octagons aren't symmetrical. If they were you'd be right. The sides have four studs on some or gap, stud, gap, stud, gap on the diagonals. Hard to describe but easy if you look at the piece itself!
The cabinet itself has lights but they glare a lot off the glass for the camera. I'm not planning to add battery lights to this project I'm hoping to wire the UV lights into the cabinet wiring though!

Wowzers 👍 awsume man look.amazing in the cabinet .😊👌.cheff kiss .big daaadingggg. It make the oridganal set .look basic I got that set but my sea part is not big so I can not fit it in . Buy keeping the part s till I got a biger house to build a biger city sea part and add it in. .
You should make a pipe go into the ground (love your vids btw)
Thanks so much!
Maybe the woman should be the one grafitting the dome window, since it is harder to explain using a marker in the water. Regardless, the scene is really clever!
Super!
I think you should move the number 1 to the empty one and move number 2 to the one at full
So it goes 2,1,3? Um that would hurt my brain, haha!
How about adding a counter following on how many bricks you have placed under the sea cabinet?
If that was easy it'd be great but there's too much work involved, especially when I start doing rocks and coral!
Lol no wonder i cant buy any kits some greedy git has got them all!!!!!!
Great work loving it
You got that right!
Maybe a bit to early for this suggestion but you know how you said you were going to build a cliff I was thinking you could put a cave in the cliff to kind of tradition from the mane see level into the black light area an to build the cave you could use black tiles to make it look deep and dark
Oh yes, there will be caves, plants, coral, fish, beasties, all sorts!
The doors look good robin but I'm not sure about those exposed hinges. I think it's better to leave them off or rotate the door 90 degrees?? 🤔🤔🤔
Reminds me of Subnautica
Yes very similar, although I've never seen / played it!
reminds me of subnatica
Very much so!
Ah ok that does make a lot of sense :) Thanks for the reply, now I can finally sleep again :D
get a guy you make like he's competing in the window
Competing? Typo? Cheers!
blinky lights for the back furthest corner?
The cabinet itself has lights but they glare a lot off the glass for the camera. I'm not planning to add battery lights to this project I'm hoping to wire the UV lights into the cabinet wiring though!
How many original bases does this use?
Three plus a few extra bricks for the main tower!
