Great build!! Awesome upgrade of that massive base. I agree, those duplo pieces really fit. I think the child needs to wear a cap with a propellor! I think also a warning light for the inside airlock is needed.
Deep base nine! love it! think you need a bucket in the corner for Odo as a little Easter egg. oh and clearly the mini sub will be called the Defiant!!!!

You get away with these big duplo pieces like nobody else! And I just love how this one is different from the one above, looking forward how this one unfolds when it gets it's spot in the cabinet. On to the new channel next wednesday!
Love the look of the new base! Here are some more ideas to elaborate on @Real_Moon-Moon Deep Base 1: Plans didn't include an airlock, the base flooded and everyone died Deep Base 2: Airlock failed Deep Base 3: Had oxygen failure Deep Base 4: Same as deep base 3, but during the rebuild the parts vanished under mystery circumstances.... (was it the penguins?) Deep Base 5: Subermarine 4 crashed into it (after the speed couldn't be reduced), causing catastrophic haul failure Deep Base 6: Invaded by merpeople who disliked that the humans had discovered the secret Atlantis land Deep Base 7: Pretty much everything happened to this base, it was invaded by the merpeople (again) and the penguins, which caused a fire, causing the oxygen tanks to explode, causing catastrophic haul failure and a big explosion. At least that's what Dave said, people blame him, he has repairing the floor with a welder following a minor haul breach... hmmm Deep Base 8: No one really knows, some say it was never built, some say it was built but vanished.... And we know about Deep Base 9, lets hope nothing happens to it!
I believe the DS2 is currently better known by a nickname HS1 after some issues with labels on the gas tanks. Luckily no inhabitants were harmed when all the helium was released ;) Also... Great work on the DS9. I love it ;)
Gantry to the abyss 👍 It would help you in the cabinet. The edge of the Gantry crane doesn't need supporting. Bring the legs back towards the capsule. Frame it like a book shelf hanging over the edge. 🙂 You seem to enjoy the cabinet more than the city🙂 builds are sci-fi.
An indicator light for the inside door would be nice, maybe green and have a diver in the air lock with the inside door partly open? If it could be seen past the kid in the window. Maybe a vent on the floor of the air lock for draining the water? Maybe a light fixture in the air lock on the ceiling? Maybe for the repair bay part a structure under the stripey bit for a garage type area interior where the sub would be lowered into the stripey area? To not loose the under base detail we could just raise it up to acomodate. Having a glass window on the section would also allow us to see the tools and mechanics. It would give even more reason for the depth of the crane as I imagine working on the sub in the water if there was an internal issue would be difficult. For the fish mounted with the pin, can it be twisted a bit one way or the other to give that fish a slightly different angle? Could one of the wavey green sea weed pieces partly go into the railing struts when you add extra decor?
Deep base 1 has been burning for 2 years straight, and the sea isn’t putting it out. Base 2 we don’t know what happened, we lost communication shortly after 1 caught fire. Base 3 got invaded by something and we refused to investigate (it was penguins.) Base 4 imploded. Base 5 is just missing with no evidence except “There’s something out there.” Base 6 also imploded after Dave wrecked his sub into the wall at 15 knots. Base 7 caught fire after Dave 2 was doing some welding and sparked a propane tank. And base 8 was never completed as the builders were killed and the parts stolen.
Hey robin, I don’t know how well I can explain this idea, but I’ve been thinking about the transitions between your levels. I understand how it works in your mind, like each layer is built on a ledge on the side of a deep pit. And to build the actual rock walls would be too much. But you could use your magnet technique to create a little cutaway section up against the front, maybe just a few bricks deep above and below the glass shelf, to represent a rock shelf that the entire layer is sitting on. It wouldn’t have to extend very deep into the cabinet at all, but would give the illusion that the ground for each shelf is much thicker. Inside the cutaways could be a skeleton or treasure or something.
Hey Robin great video! You’ll probably never see it but was thinking the middle four studs in the air lock should have two grill tiles as a drain for the water. Keep up the great work!
I very nearly did that but I needed to get finished and be sociable on what was left of my Sunday. I've hooked out the 1x2 technic bricks with integrated pin though!
"Deep base 9"? - That hurts! 😀 - I'm with you: the Duplo pieces look amazing and for a minute I was contemplating getting some of them and build a giant industrial contraption. 🙂
Maybe Deep Sea 4 was lifted out of the ocean by an alien/unknown species’s city ship? Thereby saving the crew. 😊 [Am sure someone will get this reference.]
Great build Robin! Your attention to detail is *chefs kiss*. Great idea with the new channel for the brick hauls. I have been wondering why you don’t have 10 times more subscribers than you should. While my son has lots of Lego, it’s not something I collect myself, but your channel is one of my favourites! It was randomly recommended to me way back when you were starting out, and I always look forward to opening RUclips on Tuesdays and Saturdays (I’m in Australia). I think you are onto something with the brick hauls messing up the algorithm. Full disclosure - I rarely watch them. I hope this will bring up your stats so you reach all of those Lego enthusiast, and others like me who just really appreciate creativity in any medium.
Yes the hauls aren't for everyone. Me included as I never thought they would be that popular, haha. My channel is too slow for many younger people but I'm not going to change how I do things. Hopefully the split will help me get to at least 50k!

Loving this. Not sure if you've got any stickers for Deep Space 1, 2 etc. but you could have DS4 on the yellow oxygen tank the diver has collected. Could be a reason why Deep Space 4 failed, the tanks fell off.
DeepBase--2, 3, 6, 7 & 8, are destroyed. DeepBase--1, 5 & 9 are still in use. DeepBase--4 is currently missing, empty, they say, in danger of collapse, when it was a mobile base. Okay, one, how about adding one or two levels to this base? As in, stacking things a bit? Bit surprised you did not use a well-dock big enough for that submarine. On the other hand, that would block your view, a bit heavily, right? But if you up the base levels, you might be able to work one in. Even if not, add more lights, think football stadium, here. As for that cargo container, can you add some holding bars, that also plug those holes? They will need a transport submarine, of some kind, that can pull them to this base. O and did you look at the 4+ one person submarine set, from the same year as your top layer undersea base> You could make two such big elements, into a way to lift those containers, back to the surface. A shame you sold that plane, could have been perfect for your city it's skyline, near the harbour. Now, why ain't you adding in the Yellow Submarine Lego Gift Set? Come on Robin, you know you want to, if only to add to the Hillary of the potential secret album (or just real live fact that they dumped it in sea). Anyway, looking good. If I was him, that would have been the counter action in Potc5, hard to kill a skeleton, you know. Anyway, have some fun. And grap some of the current minifigure series, their mini's, some great elements. Like that gamer and the Lego Friends Gamers Room, you know. That it is a Adidas sports outfit, with a Vita logo on the back and a Castle Falcon Knights on the front, you need more folks wearing that jogging outfit. It even gives you spare mouses, look for the app named Brick Search, that way you can easily find the ones you want.
how about a kinda shoddy tube going up from this base to the base on the next level up, that noone actually uses but someone thought was a good idea at some point?
heh....if the backstory is the others were "lost"....you're also reffing Babylon 5 which considering the "Deep Space Nine" was a ripoff claims is extra appropriate...lol
You should put some Penguins in the containers, so the whole operation is really just to help the Penguin Mafia collect more fish. 🐧🐟
Penguins, deadly sworn enemy of the Atlanteans!
Maybe the little child could be the one who noticed the mermaid and they are waving to each other?
I was thinking the same thing!
I hope I still have one. I used a lot in the fairground. Update: I do. Win!
Lovely video and build! I'm not sure if it exists, but a 'days without disaster' sign could be a funny nod to the other eight bases.
I don't do bespoke stickers but if I did I'd do that one, haha. Very good!
@@RobinHoodBricks maybe a digital number display paired with one of those red and white danger stickers or if there are industrial hazard ones?
Deep Base 9 😂😂😂 Love the Star Trek reference.
Kinda rolls off the tongue, haha!
For the light towers at the top, where you’ve put the magenta starfish, if you use part 30033 that way you can have more lights to cover a wider area
Great build!! Awesome upgrade of that massive base. I agree, those duplo pieces really fit.

You can add sunk millter ship
I try to keep politics, religion and military out of my scenes. Pirates and Viking war ships maybe!
A fun reason for an earlier base failing could just be that the engineers forgot to account for the fact that Lego floats.
Floating Base 1!
It's like the discovery Channel but in lego. It's shark week lol
I have a lot of sharks. People consistently send them in!
Maybe a welder on the outside trying to stop a leak. Fantastic build looking forward to more 😃
What an amazing build, the whole thing is fantastic makeover
Another great build!
Gotta love the cabinet!
The interestingly shaped pieces on the side at 22:30 could be a "safe place" for the divers to be when the crane is in use
Oh I like that. Yes a protective cage area!
Fantastic build as always Robin! Mabye consider adding some tools and welding equipment to repair bay, so divers can repair something.
Great modifications to a very cool set! It's much more practical this way for sure! Indeed with, as always, lots of great details!
Yeah it was great and is now even better!
The floor of repair bay looks very good. You can't have too many hazard stripes on deep sea base.
Especially given what happened to Deep Base 6 and 7!
Nice use of the duplo legs. I’d suggest 2 more the same to support the front end of the loading bay.
