Within ten minutes of this video going up, Channel 4 had hit me with a copyright takedown. I filed a dispute based on fair use and it's now viewable again, but have lost my monetization privileges on this video for up to 30 days, the fuckers.
Gotta love it. They set it up so you can't make a dime during the period your video will get 90% of its lifetime views.

Ah, I was wondering what was going on. The notice RUclips gave on the video was "the uploader has not made this video available" which I found odd... So now they're not even being honest about copyright claim stuff?! This is one of the things I feel RUclips gets very wrong. I'm not saying they have to get personally involved with copyright stuff because that'd be unrealistic. However, I think that any penalties on a channel/video should only be incurred *after* the claim is proven to be true, or you give up yourself. For example if you don't file a counter claim within 24 hours, then they can penalize you. But they should let you monetize while the dispute is happening. It's total BS and has happened to me plenty of times. We're behind ya though. ^^

This was a fantastic analysis. I have been listening to Peterson for just over a year, and I am fortunate enough to have met him in November. As a Toronto university student, I had been told to hate him for being transphobic and sexist - my university even shut down one of his talks to ensure student safety. When I hunted down evidence of these smears against his character, I quickly discovered they were false. I have since defended him as calmly, collected, and intellectually as possible in the context of the unchecked group-think being nurtured at my university, and I have made an absurd number of students turn against me as a result. These students have never listened to his lectures and quickly turn to ad hominem and straw man attacks... it makes discussion impossible, but has led to many other students contacting me privately to assert that they are afraid to speak up and feel silenced, but agree with my arguments and the evidence presented. I have even had relatives of students contact me out of concern for how ideologically-driven students are becoming. It's a real shame because the ideologies being pushed by these deeply influential institutions prey on the most vulnerable members of society. Low income students feel exploited by everything, and universities wire in the language of blame... but very few who blame others instead of working on their own skill sets and capabilities achieve success or personal fulfillment. I've been villainized by those who would benefit most from Peterson's ideas of accountability and responsibility, but these individuals would rather choose a world of illusions while projecting visions of their utopia onto literally everyone over actually helping themselves. 'Tis a shame. Thanks for unpacking this interview in such a reasonable manner!

I would have fan-girled out and embarrassed myself if I had been in your position!
I find it astounding that a man who is as calm, patient and reasonable as Jordan Peterson is being described as an Alt Right, transphobic, misogynist, literal Nazi by the Left: this shows just how messed up and spoilt Western societies have become.
      Good luck at university. x

      Mellie
Share your experiences with RUclips users whenever you are in the mood and have the energy for it. This message must be spread.
Too many people still believe Peterson dramatizes the situation, overreacts to Bill-C-16, sees non-existent ghosts when he talks about Neo-Marxism/Postmodernism. They can not understand how serious it has become, how destructive the climate already is and they desperately need to understand it soon.
I must admit, although I listened to Peterson for months now and watched every video about the Shepherd case, your comment still shocked me.

Universities are nothing but corporations. I'm no yes man. I'm glad I told off a few profs and TA's at Schulich at York for dictating to us what is right without no backing. I'm also glad I tossed out my diplomas both undergrad and MBA from Schulich and used it a toilet paper (figure of speech) but have no clue where they are now lol. Yet, I was ambitious and true to myself and others around me and became highly successful. I'm not political, more of a math person but at end I achieved and pursued my goals with great sacrifice and did not allow myself to be brought down nor bring down other people. And many females in my program are more successful than I am or will be and it is rewarding to see people you grew up with become successful regardless of their gender. Seems these days it's wrong being a simple human being.

When Peterson said Cathy wasn't very agreeable, her reaction was very revealing. She doesn't believe in the things she's saying. There was a genuine smile, full of pride. She KNOWS she's more successful than the average woman because she has more drive than them. You think that was accidental? She got flummoxed when he flattered her again. He's a psychologist, he played her like a fiddle.

It also goes back to the issue of Agreeing vs Disagreeing. Peterson said that she has not been agreeable and one could assume he is saying that she is disagreeing in what has been said. If Cathy has been "agreeable" then she wouldn't be where she is at in the first place.

Thanks Karen, my 17 year old son has been very low and tried to take his life, during the support he has been receiving it was established that he did not see that as a young male he had any place in the world, he felt that every message he saw was that he was bad person, a rapist, a raciest and should not be given any opportunities. Women like you have helped him find a balance of opinion and has been helpful in him finding a reason to see he does have value and a reason to stick with it. Thanks, keep up the great work.

  • @helgar5121

I'm mother to two adult girls (also have two sons). I thought I had instilled a sense of fairness and equality in all four children. Last year the younger daughter (23) snapped at me 'But you ARE a feminist' ..my response: .No I'm bloody not' led to many discussions. Despite urging them to watch 'The Red Pill', listen to Peterson, Camille Paglia, Pizzey yourself and others, they refuse because they are convinced that they are right. They will not debate issues but get quite angry if confronted with a fact they can't refute. I question whether I encouraged my younger (disenfranchised) son enough and where I went wrong dispensing egalitarian views with the girls. Watching (the ever brilliant)Jordan Peterson and listening to your thoughts on this interview has renewed my determination to get through to them, thank you.

I have an amazingly intelligent wife of 25 that can think for herself. She is very inexperienced but she is naturally critically minded. All girls are different though so don't give up trying to teach them even though they are out of the house.

That may change one day, mgtow doesn't have to be a permanent phenomenon, but for now it's the only way to be somewhat safe, not wholly safe mind you as they can get you even if you don't play the game. Great analysis! I just found your channel and am delighted by your point of view. As a woman I am so frustrated listening to women like Newman who claim to "fight for my rights" when all they do is displaying their own insecurity and lack of differentiated thinking. They complain about inequality and being treated unfairly by evil men when the real problem is their unwillingness/incapability to take responsibility for their lives. With this attitude they damage men as much as they damage young girls.

One the one hand, the message young men get from Prof. Peterson is if you are responsible, put your house in order, honest and do your best you will have something of value to offer to society. On the other hand, the feminists say "you men have to fix your toxic masculinity;" "boys are stupid throw rocks at them." So which one would you pick?

I have true respect for the men who built this world, not knowing peace for even a second of life. They dedicated everything to giving me a comfy chair, infinite food and a computer to play harmless games on. I can go to the store every week and feast in a manner my ancestors could only dream of, they gave me that. They gave me peace and plenty, the dream of mankind has come true and I live to experience it.
But now we're throwing it away. This modern age is heaven on earth, but it came with a cost. We lost our strength, we sank away in sin, one could say we strayed from god, and now our (well-deserved) doom will come.
My advice: make sure you face the end knowing you had no part in causing it. Even better: face the end in pure defiance of all that caused it and die fighting it. We now know what can be, if anyone takes it we will know clearly what needs to be regained.

Lovely to hear from you all. And kind of a little warming. Though I realise not ALL women are crazy, frothing and foaming feminist harridens, It is still nice to hear from "real women".
I'm not that young either 54, And luckily, in everyday life I see little of this feminist crap, I'm from the NW of the UK, we tend to call a spade a spade and PC horseshit rarely figures. But I have been watching it infect and effect things over the past two decades, slowly at first, but much faster over the last five years. And ever since Brexit and Trumps election they seem to have simply lost their collective shit, and it has gotten overt and quite ridiculous.
Things work best when men and women work together, with mutual respect, away from one's weaknesses and to one's strengths, as a team. That is partly how we got to be the dominant species on this rock.
Still, it is always nice to hear from normal lovely women. Women are wonderful, and the VAST majority of men adore women. Quite how so many people have come to believe the feminist shite is beyond me.

10:49 I couldn't help but notice the anguish in Peterson's voice. It hammers home the fact that, in our society, men and boys are being ground down by the blatant gynocentrism that seems to be rampaging all over the landscape. It's also telling that, even as I type this comment, my spell-checker doesn't know how to spell the word "gynocentrism".

    • @corwyn2
      @corwyn2 6 лет назад +41

also being in my 40s and having been raised by a single feminist mother, I share his anguish to an extent. that boys need their fathers is painfully obvious. an single mother cant teach her son how to be a man anymore than a single father can teach his daughter how to be a woman. society is geared and centered to helping women so single fathers and more importantly, his child) have a little help with that. single mothers? well, in my experience, a single mother will raise her son to be what she thinks is good for women. this says that her son will become suicidal when trying trying to reconcile feminist teachings, societal beliefs, and self preservation. throw in a little teen defiance and hormonal aggression and I can see the makings of a school shooter. indoctrinate some of that aggression out and I can see a young man with little ambition or drive, unwilling to follow societal norms and just drift through life. any of this sound familiar?

+corwyn2 My mother was a feminist, my dad a beaten drunk. Through no fault of my own I'm also a single dad to a daughter. I think she'll fare better because I don't have an ideology that she's on the opposite team. Feminism certainly screwed my childhood up - I don't want to repeat it. So redpill anger led me to Karen and eventually to Dr Peterson. I'm in no hurry to get into a relationship but I'm past thinking MGTOW lines - which I do think would have been toxic for my kid.

MGTOW exists because of how much power Whamen have over Men because of the State, especially when cohabiting. A lot of the peripheral stuff people like Angry MGTOW, usually, say gets claimed as core tenants of MGTOW. It's all about self-preservation and self-actualization, and that your feelings can't make Whamen make better decisions, they are led by instinct just like you. Don't hate that, plan for it.

The Founding Father's of America allow us, through their actions, to prevent larger Wars, with War. Like how Land Conquests between Countries don't happen much anymore. Ever notice that? We're basically trying to force the World to be Peaceful, (Canada Loves it), one death of a person that doesn't allow World Peace at a time. Who else does that? (Without forcing Religious Ideology) I'm not saying that the US should determine how every System of Government that exists across the Globe should be, or choose the Leaders. Just enforce Peace, and make sure Innocent Peoples Natural Human Rights aren't being Infringed upon. Nobody else cares enough or has the Resources. America keeps all the other Western Countries from being Invaded with Guns, so the EU Politicians are bringing in Violent, Child Raping, Gay Murders to replace the Populace. But I'm the problem... Why?

False Rape Allegations ruin Mens Public and Professional lives. Being kicked from College for something you didn't do, and being brandished as a Rapist does ruin your life. The rule of thumb with Rape/Sexual Assault Allegations is first find out if the alleged Victim immediately Filed a Police Report, if not they're probably lying. Especially if many months have passed, or they try to ruin the Mans life directly- even though He did nothing and She knows that- on Social Media. Hoping the public outrage from the lie will make the cops have to find evidence, or they're perpetuating "Rape Culture" which only actually exists in Islam. Look it up- they have Sharia Courts that sentence Women to be Ceremonially Raped in front of the Elders. But America is clearly so oppressive. Retarded worthless Feminist bitches are going to get Millions of people killed if they keep trying to control the way everyone behaves while bringing Islam into the West. Don't say nobody ever warned you coherently without saying "The End is Near", but rather that things may get real bad. :')
Democrats have had uninterrupted control over Chicago for 84 years. They have an average Murder rate of 36 People a Month. That's 432 a year, on average. Stephen Paddock killed 59. But all White people are evil racists for trying desperately to integrate non-white people into a Country founded on Merit, Skill, Freedom that comes with Responsibility, and Hard work. (Asians and Black people from Nigeria are some of the most productive and successful people in Western societies.) After years of giving Single Mothers Welfare and destroying the Black community, people still think just throwing money at the problem will work. People have to earn what they have or they never learn to appreciate anything. I has on Welfare before, 1/2 years. I know a little something about this. They destroy the Economy with Taxation and make it to where you need Welfare because there's no good paying entry-level jobs for young people in Democratically gridlocked places with shit like "Sanctuary Cities" where Libtard Mayors decide to not enforce the law, which in-turn displaces Natural Born Americans from working so they need Welfare. Socialism is a slime covered crater in the ground that opens up so you fall in to a bottomless pit of High Taxation, Social Degradation, and Welfare Dependence. It's all the White Mans fault no matter how much money we give them- even though there's Affirmative Action Laws that 'positively' discriminate to get more Women, People of Color, and Gay people into the work force. Which pushes Straight White Men out. It's not Racist to hate or discriminate against White people on the basis of skin color, that's absurd. It's 2018.

YT only cares about you if you stay PC and don't say anything against something a Feminist says is good. Susan, the CEO of YT is a SJW. She had the YT Team program the YT Video Monitoring Algorithm to target Keywords in the Title, Description, and Tags of all videos Uploaded, even if they're not Public. Then Blacklist Channels and put most of their videos in a "Limited State," also known as Demonetize them if it finds anything it's been told to dislike. I believe many channels like popular Music don't have these limitations. You also have to have 1,000 Subscribers, and 4000 Hours of Watch Time on your videos a year before you qualify to receive the Ad Revenue.
      Here's why I hate Religion.
50 people spend 3 hours a week performing actions to praise Gawd.=150 Hours. Multiply that by 4 Weeks =600 Hours, Months =7,200 Hours, then Years(Let's say 70) =504,000 Hours. Now start that equation with 1 Billion People. That's why I hate Religion. It's a Waste of Time.

Just because something doesn't make you feel good, doesn't mean it's not what's better for the World. Being a World Superpower doesn't happen without Money. Neither does Socialism. 50% of Americas spending is on Social and Welfare Benefits, 25% on the Military, and 16% on Education. We have a $20 Trillion Deficit, and it's not because of War. Many more people would be dead if other Countries were allowed to act as they like, and the Military keeps Americans Employed. I realize America isn't perfect.
California has Income, Sales, Fast Food, $1.00 on all Cigarette packs, Alcohol, Vehicle Luxury, Property, and as of 10/31/17, an extra 12¢ per Gallon Gas Tax. Gotta pay for those Single Mothers one way or another, to prevent them from beating their Men/Children into a Rioting frenzy to burn down the State.
8.5 Million jobs across America are held by Illegal Immigrants.
America isn't a natural Capitalist system. It's been tainted by the Government with overreach. True Capitalism is Contract Law and Property Rights, with minimal Taxes and Regulation. That's Capitalism.
Marriage has become a raw deal for Men, a Man can be Cheated on, Abused, Arrested for False Allegations after a Woman is Upset with him, have his Children taken from him by the Mother, be kicked out of his own House Legally, and have to Pay Alimony for her to live life because of Family Court Bias.
Feminists are adapting and creating Laws that fit their Narrative. They're changing the way Children think with In-School Indoctrination (Safe- Schools Program), and trying to eradicate Traditional Gender Roles.
There are Sexual Orientations, not creatable Genders or Sexes. There are Males, Females, Hermaphrodites, and Trans people. So there's people with natural born mutations, and there are also Trans people, but those aren't new Sexes or Genders. They transition from either Male to Female or Female to Male. That is Trans-itioning.
Facts, Logic, Science, and Observable Reality are all Tools of the Patriarchy. :')
There are Islamic Grooming Gangs that Rape European Women and Highschool Girls, typically for not wearing a Hijab and not being Muslim. I just don't want Women to be Raped. But no, I'm clearly "The Patriarchy" and oppress women by being a Straight White Male. I'm the same species as inbred child rapists. This has nothing to do with Race. It's _all_ about how people behave. Why the fuck are so many Western people too blind, stupid, and sensitive to conceptualize and confront reality? Hiding from these things allows for Women to be Raped and Murdered. But you probably dislike ME for just talking about it and trying to solve it.

Cathy Newman attempted to score points rather than ask for factual information; a real non-non in the world of interviews. And not just that. She fairly vibrated with annoyance that her shallow attacks and cowardly evasions were getting her NOWHERE with the far superior intellect of Dr. Peterson. It is an EXCELLENT example of the feeble feminist railing against reality.

I love Jordan Peterson's lectures and talks, they're all very informative and I started reading his new book last night. I have been saying for a while now that it is very telling that men tend to favor Words of Affirmation as their primary love language (Top two I see men have is Words of Affirmation and Quality Time, they want encouragement, they want to be appreciated and they want to be listened to!)... It's not "Physical Touch" like it's often assumed because men = horny or something stupid. These men are not being given encouragement, and they need it! I have been a pillar in quite a few of my friends lives with giving them as much encouragement as I can muster for them, and they always seem so incredibly grateful! Why do I as a woman get value from Peterson's work? Because I have so many friends and family members who are men and can benefit from it, on top of myself! I feel like I'm constantly breaking through walls of nihilism and hedonism that men have found themselves closed off with and getting them onto more productive paths. It breaks my heart seeing so many men suffer from this and get ripped to shreds by society on top of it!

I've heard it said that women's brains are adapted not to detect hardships that affect adults, but hardships that affect children, and this is one of the reasons women are often cold when men are on the verge of sweating. Obviously this is only a partial adaptation, since women are perfectly capable of functioning as adults when they need/want to, but I wonder to what extent it is responsible for women feeling underserved by society. Are they really underserved by society, or are they campaigning for better treatment because their maternal instincts are primarily concerned with securing the most possible advantages for their hypothetical children? It seems very likely to me that this is a vestigial instinct, which is just as out-of-place in modern society as is the male instinct to get into fistfights.

    • @deusexaethera
      @deusexaethera 6 лет назад +18

You give women too much blame for doing it on purpose. Consider this: All adults start life as children, and women have many features that never mature beyond childhood (a biological trait known as "neoteny"). These traits include, but are not limited to: Smaller jaws, smaller ribcages, lower percentage of skeletal muscle, stretchier ligaments, lower bone density, higher percentage of body fat, finer body hair, freer expression of emotional states, etc.
Men have some neotenic traits as well, because _all_ modern humans are domesticated compared to our ancestors. That's why we can do things like digest milk as adults, be curious instead of apprehensive, and learn new skills our entire lives. However, if women's sensitivity to pain, cold, threat of attack, threat of starvation, etc., never mature beyond childhood, then they aren't consciously exploiting men so much as they are victims of their own evolutionary adaptation -- they can't help it if their amygdalas freak-out at the prospect of potential dangers that are only a serious threat to children. The amygdala can never be completely re-trained, no matter how hard you try -- some of its functions are hardwired.
Why would this happen? It's not because females are inherently more fragile -- there are many species where the females are larger and stronger than males. For humans, it's simply that an adult caretaker who feels things the way a child would will be better able to anticipate the needs of a child, _without_ needing to waste precious time _relearning_ how to think like a child through trial and error (i.e. dead children). Thus an adult caretaker who feels things the way a child would is going to be more capable of ensuring a child's survival. Women can consciously override _some_ aspects of their neoteny, of course, just like men can override _some_ aspects of their hunter/fighter adaptations -- but that requires constant mental effort. Everyone has bad days, and bad days are more likely to happen when you are constantly being pestered by your amygdala about all of the things that _might_ go wrong.
The only women who are _guilty_ of anything are the ones who understand their evolutionary adaptations and don't do anything to rein them in, while demanding that _men_ must still rein-in their own evolutionary adaptations. Those women do exist, but I think bitter men overestimate their numbers.

I don’t see how this would be any different from the male drive to provide the best life he can for his offspring. After all, I assume this is why men work so much. Babies ain’t cheap. And better treatment for a woman in the workplace has nothing to do with how my child is treated, unless you’re talking about about pay, which, yeah, like a dude, I’m gonna hustle in order to put my offspring in the best material position possible. It’s really the *least* you can do for your kid. If you don’t have kids, then you yourself materialistic. Vestigial traits are often overcome through our respective faculties of reason. A man might WANT to get into fistfight, the great majority do not. My reptilian brain is telling me to eat the brownie in my kitchen, which I don’t need. Through logic, I go over what’s going to happen if I eat or don’t eat it. Yes, this is a thing with humans. And I’m sorry, I’m not getting the sweating thing. Identification with a child is not the same as enmeshment.

You only need to watch the actual news show without anyone pointing it out and its pretty obvious without this lady commenting on it. Just cos you dont like the way she talks doesnt make her wrong. The majortiy of people agree feminism has changed woman and men already have equality, name what rights woman dont have that men have? Also look up what rights woman have that men dont and you will find we as in men actually have less rights than woman and are treated harsher than woman are when it comes to behavior and also receive toughr prison sentences. I dont know how in this day and age with having google that people cant just do a simple google search. Actual research has been done on most things so its pretty easy to find out.

There were 2 comments in that interview that stuck out to me and that i have heard nobody mention. He not only destroyed all of her arguments he even had the courtesy to try and subtly warn her about what she was doing and what could happen as a result. Seriously watch it back and notice first when she begins her tactics that he warns her that he is very very careful with how he chooses his words. Does this not seem likely especially from him knowing how he handles himself to be an attempt to let her know that those games are not going to work with him. Only he was too polite to say it as directly as my description of the message did. The second thing to listen for is when they are discussing predictors for success he makes a direct attempt to warn her of the consequences of high negative emotion. It is around the 19 minute and 30 second mark. But again she fails to listen and interrupts him and moves the course of the conversation. Maybe it is hindsight on my part noticing these things but just those 2 comments seem to forshadow not only how the entire interview worked itself out, but also the backlash she faced from the public after they saw it.
I dont get how she could be surprised by the reaction she got unless she is so delusionally ideologically detached from reality that she really doesnt understand how audiences work. We as people tend to be empathic toward others and once one person makes statements that hit home with you and ring true you begin to identify with that person on some level. What happens then is that portions of the audience begind on some small level as if the attacks on that person they are identifying with are coming in some small way toward themselves. Add in picking up on the level of negative emotion she is throwing at him and it is no wonder that people responded in a vitriolic manner. What is honestly amazing to me is that it was as mild as it was. I mean most people watched this on youtube. Think about the usual level of ignorant and mean spirited statements you will see on even 2 youtubers disagreeing and ask yourself it the youtube comments on that video seem even remotely in the same league and it makes it painfully obvious that the calling in of security is just a pr move.

Do you even know what gaslighting even means. He was obviously trying to get her to question her views, as they are wrong. But he was using facts and not psychological manipulation, how in anything he said do you get him trying to manipulate her into questioning her own sanity. Please review the actual tape.
Ps- originally the term gaslighting referred to a movie in which a husband tried to get his wife to think that she was going insane, but as a colloquialism, it means simply manipulating someone into thinking that something that did not actually happened a certain way did, so I used it correctly, more or less

It is worse then that, actually. Most SJWs, if they ever got into a position of power, would use it to hurt others if it helped them. This is not just speculation. I have a story to tell that shows how this actually happened. They can complain about oppression happening to folks at the top of their hierarchy of valued people, but if a white, cis, het man who has put a roof over their heads and gave them his life savings is murdered in broad daylight in front of them in order to advance their cause, they would be indifferent or even rejoice.

Will you be going to the Board of Channel 4 immediately after this interview, and demanding that they pay the janitor the same as you? Are you willing to demand a pay rise for the janitor, or will you instead demand that they cut your pay to match what they pay the janitor? If not, why not? The janitor's job is an important one. Without them doing their job, you'd be having to work in a pig sty. "Pick up your damn cross and walk up that hill!" Words from Jordan Peterson that apply to any person on this planet, regardless of gender or identity or status. His words still ring in my ears after hearing that sentence long ago.

Karen!!! Wowzer! Been following you for a couple of years and loved this review of the Newman debacle! One of my favourites to date. Love your sneering disdain of Cathy’s idiocy but effortlessly Punctuated With Cold Hard Clear and Concise SENSE!!! Amazing!!! Love you implicitly! Xxx

I so wish Jordan had asked her if she'd be prepared to work in a coal mine for a 9% pay rise. Then when she says no, say don't you think it's unfair to expect women to earn as much as men if you're not prepared to do the sort of things men do to actually earn that extra money.

I am reminded of a joke from the late Myron Cohen..... Man in a restaurant says to the waiter " excuse me but my lobster only has one claw." The waiter replies " yes , sir he got into a fight with another lobster in the tank." The man replies " So, bring me the winner."

She called RUclips divisive. So I checked. They do have a female surcharge to view the videos. Good catch Cathy.

Somehow I missed your critique of this now infamous interview which I've watched multiple times. Your commentary brings forth brilliant insight of the core of their argument.

Brilliant evisceration, Karen. Your arguments were convincing and around the 14-15 minute mark, quite emotionally moving too. Well done and thank you. You make a difference.

My wife works in a hospital and her male colleagues make the same amount of money. Is the pay gap really only about rich women making less than rich men?

    • @mistahsusan2650
      @mistahsusan2650 6 лет назад +11

NotReallyABlessing no it’s largely down to women taking a break from work to have children, and then most likely going on reduced hours or part time.
in some instances women under 30 out earn men their age.

NotReallyABlessing Only a portion of it. A small portion given the ratio of those jobs against the overwhelming majority of jobs out there.
You have to take special notice when the word "median" gets used in contexts like this.
The poster above covered the majority of the rest.
Now, when will be the time when they analyze the number of layoffs, injuries, and deaths between the two sexes at work?
Can't exactly be part of an "earnings gap" if you aren't participating in the job market afterall...

The pay gap doesn't even take into account the type of work. It's just average earnings vs average earnings. It doesn't even take into account hours worked. For example in my line of work you have industrial labourers, mostly men $24 an. Hour. You have operators, techs, specialists, vast majority men, up to $50 an hour. Then you have safety watches, fire watches (sparks) first aiders, field admin, housekeeping. Many more women doing these then anything else. All those pay $15 to $20 so is that a pay gap? No the guys doing safety watch get the same as the girls and vice versa. It's job choice and job based skills.

rustyscrapper yeh but as long as the reasons for the pay gap require a slightly above average attention span to comprehend we will continue to see the argument brought back into circulation. After all most people will intuit that there should be no pay gap in a fair society even if the argument to the contrary is far stronger.

I think the reason is that Karen had the luxury of time and preparation on her side. Every time I have seen Peterson speak about this it has been in a live interview, and eloquent and knowledgeable as he is, there is a lot to be said for usefulness of "practice makes perfect"

Here's why Jordan Peterson didn't make that impassioned speech about the plight of men to Cathy Newman:
"What's in it for the women though?"
