Within ten minutes of this video going up, Channel 4 had hit me with a copyright takedown. I filed a dispute based on fair use and it's now viewable again, but have lost my monetization privileges on this video for up to 30 days, the fuckers. Gotta love it. They set it up so you can't make a dime during the period your video will get 90% of its lifetime views.
Ah, I was wondering what was going on. The notice RUclips gave on the video was "the uploader has not made this video available" which I found odd... So now they're not even being honest about copyright claim stuff?! This is one of the things I feel RUclips gets very wrong. I'm not saying they have to get personally involved with copyright stuff because that'd be unrealistic. However, I think that any penalties on a channel/video should only be incurred *after* the claim is proven to be true, or you give up yourself. For example if you don't file a counter claim within 24 hours, then they can penalize you. But they should let you monetize while the dispute is happening. It's total BS and has happened to me plenty of times. We're behind ya though. ^^
This was a fantastic analysis. I have been listening to Peterson for just over a year, and I am fortunate enough to have met him in November. As a Toronto university student, I had been told to hate him for being transphobic and sexist - my university even shut down one of his talks to ensure student safety. When I hunted down evidence of these smears against his character, I quickly discovered they were false. I have since defended him as calmly, collected, and intellectually as possible in the context of the unchecked group-think being nurtured at my university, and I have made an absurd number of students turn against me as a result. These students have never listened to his lectures and quickly turn to ad hominem and straw man attacks... it makes discussion impossible, but has led to many other students contacting me privately to assert that they are afraid to speak up and feel silenced, but agree with my arguments and the evidence presented. I have even had relatives of students contact me out of concern for how ideologically-driven students are becoming. It's a real shame because the ideologies being pushed by these deeply influential institutions prey on the most vulnerable members of society. Low income students feel exploited by everything, and universities wire in the language of blame... but very few who blame others instead of working on their own skill sets and capabilities achieve success or personal fulfillment. I've been villainized by those who would benefit most from Peterson's ideas of accountability and responsibility, but these individuals would rather choose a world of illusions while projecting visions of their utopia onto literally everyone over actually helping themselves. 'Tis a shame. Thanks for unpacking this interview in such a reasonable manner!
From what you say, I would start counting down to a major scandal of the Lindsay Shepherd variety occurring in Toronto Univ in about three to six months.
I would have fan-girled out and embarrassed myself if I had been in your position! I find it astounding that a man who is as calm, patient and reasonable as Jordan Peterson is being described as an Alt Right, transphobic, misogynist, literal Nazi by the Left: this shows just how messed up and spoilt Western societies have become. Good luck at university. x
Mellie Share your experiences with RUclips users whenever you are in the mood and have the energy for it. This message must be spread. Too many people still believe Peterson dramatizes the situation, overreacts to Bill-C-16, sees non-existent ghosts when he talks about Neo-Marxism/Postmodernism. They can not understand how serious it has become, how destructive the climate already is and they desperately need to understand it soon. I must admit, although I listened to Peterson for months now and watched every video about the Shepherd case, your comment still shocked me.
Universities are nothing but corporations. I'm no yes man. I'm glad I told off a few profs and TA's at Schulich at York for dictating to us what is right without no backing. I'm also glad I tossed out my diplomas both undergrad and MBA from Schulich and used it a toilet paper (figure of speech) but have no clue where they are now lol. Yet, I was ambitious and true to myself and others around me and became highly successful. I'm not political, more of a math person but at end I achieved and pursued my goals with great sacrifice and did not allow myself to be brought down nor bring down other people. And many females in my program are more successful than I am or will be and it is rewarding to see people you grew up with become successful regardless of their gender. Seems these days it's wrong being a simple human being.
When Peterson said Cathy wasn't very agreeable, her reaction was very revealing. She doesn't believe in the things she's saying. There was a genuine smile, full of pride. She KNOWS she's more successful than the average woman because she has more drive than them. You think that was accidental? She got flummoxed when he flattered her again. He's a psychologist, he played her like a fiddle.
It also goes back to the issue of Agreeing vs Disagreeing. Peterson said that she has not been agreeable and one could assume he is saying that she is disagreeing in what has been said. If Cathy has been "agreeable" then she wouldn't be where she is at in the first place.
Thanks Karen, my 17 year old son has been very low and tried to take his life, during the support he has been receiving it was established that he did not see that as a young male he had any place in the world, he felt that every message he saw was that he was bad person, a rapist, a raciest and should not be given any opportunities. Women like you have helped him find a balance of opinion and has been helpful in him finding a reason to see he does have value and a reason to stick with it. Thanks, keep up the great work.
And he's not the only one. He should know that. If there's something any at least mildly-intelligent male does share in these days it's a crushing anxiety around these things. Whether or not they'll be willing to talk about it is another thing entirely.
What a sad situation...I'll pray for him and I hope he finds his way. As a 55 yr old man without children, the more I hear about this the more I think about mentoring. These young boys need our help.
I'm mother to two adult girls (also have two sons). I thought I had instilled a sense of fairness and equality in all four children. Last year the younger daughter (23) snapped at me 'But you ARE a feminist' ..my response: .No I'm bloody not' led to many discussions. Despite urging them to watch 'The Red Pill', listen to Peterson, Camille Paglia, Pizzey yourself and others, they refuse because they are convinced that they are right. They will not debate issues but get quite angry if confronted with a fact they can't refute. I question whether I encouraged my younger (disenfranchised) son enough and where I went wrong dispensing egalitarian views with the girls. Watching (the ever brilliant)Jordan Peterson and listening to your thoughts on this interview has renewed my determination to get through to them, thank you.
It may be in large part due to actual experience and maturity. Your girls may lack the experience to know better. But maybe not. I have an amazingly intelligent wife of 25 that can think for herself. She is very inexperienced but she is naturally critically minded. All girls are different though so don't give up trying to teach them even though they are out of the house.
Helga R Leave them alone. Maybe you should stop trying to convince her that *you’re* right. Your children aren’t you, they are their own people. Get over it. Even Peterson, a psych, would say that.
We do, that's why so many men are going mgtow, because it is the only logical answer considering the current social landscape. That may change one day, mgtow doesn't have to be a permanent phenomenon, but for now it's the only way to be somewhat safe, not wholly safe mind you as they can get you even if you don't play the game. It's THAT bad
But she did not say "What is in it for me?", if I remember correctly she said "What is in it for us?" The first one is a perfectly valid question, the second one is a very dangerous question.
I can't even ask that question in my head without a barrage of probable retorts and comebacks from ignorant women exploded all at once. It's better to not even ask such a question and just live like it instead.
Briffault's law maintains that “the female, not the male, determines all the conditions of the animal family. Where the female can derive no benefit from relationship with the male, no such relationship takes place.”
A female viewer here. You use the re-framing arguments when battling feminism that I use. As a result of this, people run away from arguments with me. You are my kindred spirit, Karen. An inspiration for a female who had felt lonely among my own gender for a very long time.
Great analysis! I just found your channel and am delighted by your point of view. As a woman I am so frustrated listening to women like Newman who claim to "fight for my rights" when all they do is displaying their own insecurity and lack of differentiated thinking. They complain about inequality and being treated unfairly by evil men when the real problem is their unwillingness/incapability to take responsibility for their lives. With this attitude they damage men as much as they damage young girls. Thank you for this video!
Sopho Nax It goes deeper than that. The point is to drive a political wedge between the sexes so theyre easier to manipulate into lesser of the two evils voting
Peterson realized that he needed to play the role of a psychologist working with a client and not an interviewee being interviewed by a journalist, and proceeded accordingly with smiles and challenges to her silly assumptions. It was golden to watch, especially at the "got'cha" point.
Best analysis of the interview Ive seen. I had to chuckle at JP daring to speak about things hurting men and Cathy immediately changes the subject and comes out with "What's in it for the women", and thinks she can get away with it. And yet we live in a patriarchy....
I really appreciate how your videos don’t have tedious intro/outro bullshit attached. I’m 30, I don’t need to be delighted by flashing lights and loud music lmao
That's a really massively important statement. Where I work has very liberal flexi-time. MOST men do overtime. ALL the women do flat hours. There's your pay gap.
A shining example of why I fucking love watching JBP in action. It is incredibly cathartic to watch immutable truths calmly and deftly cut through the cacophany of buzzwords and crybully reeeeeing with the accuracy of a laser to obliterate all of the paper-thin "arguments".
I had enough of post-mortems of the Cathy/Jordan interview. After watching two dozen, it's enough. But if Karen Straughan has something to say, I fucking listen.
I'm a woman...I'm following you! Wish there were more women out there like you! Thank you for what you do and fighting for the rights of my husband and son and millions of other men in our country!
so it turns out that JP as a practising clinical psychologist and someone specialises in assertiveness training turns out being aggressive and confrontational isn’t the best technique to try on him
being cool, calm and collected, using reason and logic and not falling for stupid baiting and mischaracterization is now considered a "jedi mind trick"....lol
Love your video! My only disagreement is that Jordan did not make her look like a fool. She gets 100% credit for revealing herself as being a fool. Keep up the good work!
Dr Peterson didn’t have to make a fool of her & he knew that. He waited & answered patiently & then unleashed his gotcha moment, that’s the moment you see an intellectual heavyweight unload some power. Dr Peterson barely broke a sweat, his checkmate move was all class.
L.A Xavier Actually, I did see it and I did hear Peterson’s self-criticism of his “got ya” remark. He handled himself extremely well (if not perfectly) during this ambush interview.
One the one hand, the message young men get from Prof. Peterson is if you are responsible, put your house in order, honest and do your best you will have something of value to offer to society. On the other hand, the feminists say "you men have to fix your toxic masculinity;" "boys are stupid throw rocks at them." So which one would you pick? A great video, Karen. I want to watch it several times over so I can memorize at least your main core arguments which are devastating. Thanks very much!!
Great job Karen, this is one of the most intelligent commentaries on the matter I've heard. And you have several loyal female followers, who greatly esteem and appreciate your words and perspectives. Thank you.
I'm not female.... I am (admittedly) a more-stubborn-than-not man with a quasi-desire for (gasp!) validation that's satisfied by those (like Karen) that would challenge views like Cathy Newman's.... but I sincerely try to be discerning in complimenting views that mirror mine... and, with that I say the same thing you did Marni: Karen's is one of the most intelligent commentaries on the matter I've heard... if not THE most intelligent.... and I've been BINGEING heavily on these things, seeking so many out. Cheers!
Standing ovation! Your dissection and perspective is absolutely brilliant. Really a privilege to listen to you; lovely voice, cadence with which you speak. This is the first time I've listen to you and I find you very interesting, captivating. Have a wonderful 2018; cant wait to hear more from you.
Yeah, her cadence is on point. She low key saved my life about 5 years ago when I woke up to the manipulations and agenda of my, then, estranged wife and her SJW co-conspirators. By that time, it was too late for my looming disposal and separation from my children and life, but Karen shed so much light on what I was going through. I will always remember her, Barbarossa, and others for the solace gained through the worse trying time of my life. Viva la Girl Writes What! : )
I have true respect for the men who built this world, not knowing peace for even a second of life. They dedicated everything to giving me a comfy chair, infinite food and a computer to play harmless games on. I can go to the store every week and feast in a manner my ancestors could only dream of, they gave me that. They gave me peace and plenty, the dream of mankind has come true and I live to experience it. But now we're throwing it away. This modern age is heaven on earth, but it came with a cost. We lost our strength, we sank away in sin, one could say we strayed from god, and now our (well-deserved) doom will come. My advice: make sure you face the end knowing you had no part in causing it. Even better: face the end in pure defiance of all that caused it and die fighting it. We now know what can be, if anyone takes it we will know clearly what needs to be regained.
woman here- and a Kathy- almost 50 ... I'm enjoying this reaction video---except for hearing my name over and over .. I have a tiny, tiny, not even comparable... idea of how Katrina must have felt watching news coverage of that actual disaster. The original interview only "felt" like a disaster to the audience.
Lovely to hear from you all. And kind of a little warming. Though I realise not ALL women are crazy, frothing and foaming feminist harridens, It is still nice to hear from "real women". I'm not that young either 54, And luckily, in everyday life I see little of this feminist crap, I'm from the NW of the UK, we tend to call a spade a spade and PC horseshit rarely figures. But I have been watching it infect and effect things over the past two decades, slowly at first, but much faster over the last five years. And ever since Brexit and Trumps election they seem to have simply lost their collective shit, and it has gotten overt and quite ridiculous. Things work best when men and women work together, with mutual respect, away from one's weaknesses and to one's strengths, as a team. That is partly how we got to be the dominant species on this rock. Still, it is always nice to hear from normal lovely women. Women are wonderful, and the VAST majority of men adore women. Quite how so many people have come to believe the feminist shite is beyond me.
10:49 I couldn't help but notice the anguish in Peterson's voice. It hammers home the fact that, in our society, men and boys are being ground down by the blatant gynocentrism that seems to be rampaging all over the landscape. It's also telling that, even as I type this comment, my spell-checker doesn't know how to spell the word "gynocentrism".
also being in my 40s and having been raised by a single feminist mother, I share his anguish to an extent. that boys need their fathers is painfully obvious. an single mother cant teach her son how to be a man anymore than a single father can teach his daughter how to be a woman. society is geared and centered to helping women so single fathers and more importantly, his child) have a little help with that. single mothers? well, in my experience, a single mother will raise her son to be what she thinks is good for women. this says that her son will become suicidal when trying trying to reconcile feminist teachings, societal beliefs, and self preservation. throw in a little teen defiance and hormonal aggression and I can see the makings of a school shooter. indoctrinate some of that aggression out and I can see a young man with little ambition or drive, unwilling to follow societal norms and just drift through life. any of this sound familiar?
+corwyn2 My mother was a feminist, my dad a beaten drunk. Through no fault of my own I'm also a single dad to a daughter. I think she'll fare better because I don't have an ideology that she's on the opposite team. Feminism certainly screwed my childhood up - I don't want to repeat it. So redpill anger led me to Karen and eventually to Dr Peterson. I'm in no hurry to get into a relationship but I'm past thinking MGTOW lines - which I do think would have been toxic for my kid.
MGTOW exists because of how much power Whamen have over Men because of the State, especially when cohabiting. A lot of the peripheral stuff people like Angry MGTOW, usually, say gets claimed as core tenants of MGTOW. It's all about self-preservation and self-actualization, and that your feelings can't make Whamen make better decisions, they are led by instinct just like you. Don't hate that, plan for it.
American Men have to sign up for the Draft to Vote, that's not Equality. I'm quite aggressive with my speech. Because I want to get my points across quickly and effectively. Time is invaluable. I've done over 1,000 hours of Political and Philosophical research. I update this constantly. I make a '*Right Now' playlist for the videos I'm watching every day. A lot of my Research Material is in my 'Proof of Concept' playlist. Here's my findings. :) (There's also Fun Facts and Exercise Advice.) >One White Nationalist is Violent< *Reaction:* "ALL THESE VIOLENT NAZIS!!!!" >Islamists Behead and Enslave people consistently< *Reaction:* "That's not _all_ Muslims, you dumb bigot." This kind of thinking is what's causing Political Violence. The Founding Father's of America allow us, through their actions, to prevent larger Wars, with War. Like how Land Conquests between Countries don't happen much anymore. Ever notice that? We're basically trying to force the World to be Peaceful, (Canada Loves it), one death of a person that doesn't allow World Peace at a time. Who else does that? (Without forcing Religious Ideology) I'm not saying that the US should determine how every System of Government that exists across the Globe should be, or choose the Leaders. Just enforce Peace, and make sure Innocent Peoples Natural Human Rights aren't being Infringed upon. Nobody else cares enough or has the Resources. America keeps all the other Western Countries from being Invaded with Guns, so the EU Politicians are bringing in Violent, Child Raping, Gay Murders to replace the Populace. But I'm the problem... Why? The Gawds I worship are RNGesus, Kek, and Lord Gaben. That's my Holy Trinity. I bought 45 games including XCOM 2, The Witcher III, Crusader Kings II, PUBG, and Ark/w Scorched Earth for *$269.24* during the Steam Summer Sale. Or I could have gotten only 4 of those brand new. >;D False Rape Allegations ruin Mens Public and Professional lives. Being kicked from College for something you didn't do, and being brandished as a Rapist does ruin your life. The rule of thumb with Rape/Sexual Assault Allegations is first find out if the alleged Victim immediately Filed a Police Report, if not they're probably lying. Especially if many months have passed, or they try to ruin the Mans life directly- even though He did nothing and She knows that- on Social Media. Hoping the public outrage from the lie will make the cops have to find evidence, or they're perpetuating "Rape Culture" which only actually exists in Islam. Look it up- they have Sharia Courts that sentence Women to be Ceremonially Raped in front of the Elders. But America is clearly so oppressive. Retarded worthless Feminist bitches are going to get Millions of people killed if they keep trying to control the way everyone behaves while bringing Islam into the West. Don't say nobody ever warned you coherently without saying "The End is Near", but rather that things may get real bad. :') Democrats have had uninterrupted control over Chicago for 84 years. They have an average Murder rate of 36 People a Month. That's 432 a year, on average. Stephen Paddock killed 59. But all White people are evil racists for trying desperately to integrate non-white people into a Country founded on Merit, Skill, Freedom that comes with Responsibility, and Hard work. (Asians and Black people from Nigeria are some of the most productive and successful people in Western societies.) After years of giving Single Mothers Welfare and destroying the Black community, people still think just throwing money at the problem will work. People have to earn what they have or they never learn to appreciate anything. I has on Welfare before, 1/2 years. I know a little something about this. They destroy the Economy with Taxation and make it to where you need Welfare because there's no good paying entry-level jobs for young people in Democratically gridlocked places with shit like "Sanctuary Cities" where Libtard Mayors decide to not enforce the law, which in-turn displaces Natural Born Americans from working so they need Welfare. Socialism is a slime covered crater in the ground that opens up so you fall in to a bottomless pit of High Taxation, Social Degradation, and Welfare Dependence. It's all the White Mans fault no matter how much money we give them- even though there's Affirmative Action Laws that 'positively' discriminate to get more Women, People of Color, and Gay people into the work force. Which pushes Straight White Men out. It's not Racist to hate or discriminate against White people on the basis of skin color, that's absurd. It's 2018. This is a decent Workout Regiment for anyone. Do 100 Push-Ups, Sit-Ups/w 20lbs or more of Weight, Arm Extensions/w Weight (From Feet to Full Overhead Extension), Squats/w Weight, and Punching Exercises with 5-10lbs, punching with both hands for every number. In sets of 33, 33, 34 for one day, then just 1 Set of 34 every other day. I do this plus around an hour of Cardio- you don't have to Run- just Jog and Fast Walk, but Running burns Calories faster. YT only cares about you if you stay PC and don't say anything against something a Feminist says is good. Susan, the CEO of YT is a SJW. She had the YT Team program the YT Video Monitoring Algorithm to target Keywords in the Title, Description, and Tags of all videos Uploaded, even if they're not Public. Then Blacklist Channels and put most of their videos in a "Limited State," also known as Demonetize them if it finds anything it's been told to dislike. I believe many channels like popular Music don't have these limitations. You also have to have 1,000 Subscribers, and 4000 Hours of Watch Time on your videos a year before you qualify to receive the Ad Revenue. Here's why I hate Religion. 50 people spend 3 hours a week performing actions to praise Gawd.=150 Hours. Multiply that by 4 Weeks =600 Hours, Months =7,200 Hours, then Years(Let's say 70) =504,000 Hours. Now start that equation with 1 Billion People. That's why I hate Religion. It's a Waste of Time. Search "American Inventors" on Google Images. All Plastic is made from Dead Plants and Animals- It's a Refined Material made from Crude Oil from inside Earth. All Consoles, TVs, Tires, Phones, and Plastic Utensils. All of it was made from previously Living things. Let's hope Scientists can't find a way to imitate that. It'd probably eventually be used for Horrific things, and help Destroy the Environment. Build the Wall out of Hard Plastic from Landfills and line it with Solar Panels! :D There are 3 things I know of to modify text on YT. _ , - , and * . _This,_ -This,- and *This. ;)* Everything inside the symbols will change, they must be only touching one side of one character, with both on the very end of what you're changing. You cannot have anything touching the outside of the Symbols. Observe. *1* , *1 * *1*. :) Just because something doesn't make you feel good, doesn't mean it's not what's better for the World. Being a World Superpower doesn't happen without Money. Neither does Socialism. 50% of Americas spending is on Social and Welfare Benefits, 25% on the Military, and 16% on Education. We have a $20 Trillion Deficit, and it's not because of War. Many more people would be dead if other Countries were allowed to act as they like, and the Military keeps Americans Employed. I realize America isn't perfect. California has Income, Sales, Fast Food, $1.00 on all Cigarette packs, Alcohol, Vehicle Luxury, Property, and as of 10/31/17, an extra 12¢ per Gallon Gas Tax. Gotta pay for those Single Mothers one way or another, to prevent them from beating their Men/Children into a Rioting frenzy to burn down the State. 8.5 Million jobs across America are held by Illegal Immigrants. America isn't a natural Capitalist system. It's been tainted by the Government with overreach. True Capitalism is Contract Law and Property Rights, with minimal Taxes and Regulation. That's Capitalism. Marriage has become a raw deal for Men, a Man can be Cheated on, Abused, Arrested for False Allegations after a Woman is Upset with him, have his Children taken from him by the Mother, be kicked out of his own House Legally, and have to Pay Alimony for her to live life because of Family Court Bias. Feminists are adapting and creating Laws that fit their Narrative. They're changing the way Children think with In-School Indoctrination (Safe- Schools Program), and trying to eradicate Traditional Gender Roles. There are Sexual Orientations, not creatable Genders or Sexes. There are Males, Females, Hermaphrodites, and Trans people. So there's people with natural born mutations, and there are also Trans people, but those aren't new Sexes or Genders. They transition from either Male to Female or Female to Male. That is Trans-itioning. Facts, Logic, Science, and Observable Reality are all Tools of the Patriarchy. :') There are Islamic Grooming Gangs that Rape European Women and Highschool Girls, typically for not wearing a Hijab and not being Muslim. I just don't want Women to be Raped. But no, I'm clearly "The Patriarchy" and oppress women by being a Straight White Male. I'm the same species as inbred child rapists. This has nothing to do with Race. It's _all_ about how people behave. Why the fuck are so many Western people too blind, stupid, and sensitive to conceptualize and confront reality? Hiding from these things allows for Women to be Raped and Murdered. But you probably dislike ME for just talking about it and trying to solve it. Muslim Rapefugees/Immigrants negatively impact Western Culture and Civilizations on a Net scale. Islamists will Kill, Convert, or Enslave everyone you know if given the chance. 50% of British Muslims wouldn't Report a Terror Plot if discovered. Enjoy the Cancerous and Useful Knowledge you now know. :D
as we can see, this video has been strategically demonetized because someone got their feelings hurt. if you wanna support karen and are financially able to, you should. (note you can donate as little as a dollar a month, which doesn't seem like much but makes a difference if many people do the same) she's got a patreon, but doesn't seem to advertise it too often. go to the "about" section on her youtube page, and then go down to Links, and you'll find it listed there. i'm no financial confidante of karen's, nor have i ever met her in real life or even spoken to her personally online. i'm just a fangirl who has been amused, enriched, and most importantly, enlightened by her videos. i just wanna support her, and inspire others to do so too :)
@Hindu History A woman brought you into this world. You were born with her blood dripping from your body. I’m glad she didn’t fuck off... because if she had, you wouldn’t be alive to sit here and tell women, who are attempting to understand your struggle despite society screaming to them that only their struggle is important, to fuck off. ❤️
@@missyleigh6198 did she ask him for permission when bringing him into this world? Women keeps repeating this story but frankly, a woman bringing a child into the world isn't making this child a favor is it? It's just an idiotic self absolving cretinity
Why would a Peterson fan be upset at Cathy Newman? She presented an almost straw-interview for him to blast apart with relative ease. She did him a service and no doubt Dr. Peterson is more popular now than ever.
The average person can sort out who is honestly pursuing the truth and who is pushing an agenda even if they don't ultimately know exactly what that truth may be. Cathy Newman attempted to score points rather than ask for factual information; a real non-non in the world of interviews. And not just that. She fairly vibrated with annoyance that her shallow attacks and cowardly evasions were getting her NOWHERE with the far superior intellect of Dr. Peterson. It is an EXCELLENT example of the feeble feminist railing against reality.
Well, there are women who dislike being represented by the Cathy Newmans of the world. I can relate, somewhat, when a mouth-breathing racist, misogynistic anti-semite is held forward as a representative of those voting for my candidate or of the persons practicing my religion. Cathy Mewman stepped over the line of decency in this interview. She should be paying for it in popularity.
Definitely. She brought up some key points that when put into perspective by use of analogies made it seems a lot worse! Like the moment she said "What's in it for women". I didn't even think of it as a bad thing (probably because I'm so used to feminists using these types of talking points...
I've been spamming twitter with the suggestion that "questioning the lobster" should be the analog term in journalism to "jumping the shark". Alternatively "raising the lobster question/issue" or "the lobster gambit". That was just far too bizarre to ever forget.
"You have a responsibility to be the best you can be and to find meaning and purpose in life and that once you have your house in order it’s your responsibility to contribute something positive to the world and other people and to reduce suffering where you see it. We all have a duty to play fair, act kindly, foster understand, speak the truth (at least don’t lie) and make a positive impact on those around us." Brilliant.
It’s ridiculous that women shouldn’t be concerned about young men. For one thing, many of us are or will be mothers of sons. And our daughters will need partners. I’m speaking as an older woman with children and grandchildren.
Bora Bosna I don’t believe that such women as you describe are the rule, they are the exception. Nobody can improve the laws because an aggressive subgroup has taken control. I don’t think this group is all that large but somehow they have seized power. I have no practical ideas about a remedy. Some days I think we will have to let them completely destroy civilization and start over.
I love Jordan Peterson's lectures and talks, they're all very informative and I started reading his new book last night. I have been saying for a while now that it is very telling that men tend to favor Words of Affirmation as their primary love language (Top two I see men have is Words of Affirmation and Quality Time, they want encouragement, they want to be appreciated and they want to be listened to!)... It's not "Physical Touch" like it's often assumed because men = horny or something stupid. These men are not being given encouragement, and they need it! I have been a pillar in quite a few of my friends lives with giving them as much encouragement as I can muster for them, and they always seem so incredibly grateful! Why do I as a woman get value from Peterson's work? Because I have so many friends and family members who are men and can benefit from it, on top of myself! I feel like I'm constantly breaking through walls of nihilism and hedonism that men have found themselves closed off with and getting them onto more productive paths. It breaks my heart seeing so many men suffer from this and get ripped to shreds by society on top of it!
Does anybody know what the demographics are of Newman's viewers? Probably not a 50/50 split on gender lines, or exactly reflecting the population on race, religion, gender identity or geography. If it turns out that disproportionally, her audience consists of urban females, that could indicate a problem.
We’ve been brainwashed into survival of the fittest and having to fight for everything instead of finding our strengths and utilising them for the betterment of ourselves and others. Women are told they’re victims and men are to blame men are told they are oppressors and yet they’re not needed by strong women. Everything thrown at us is about opposition and division instead of encouragement and cooperation. We need more teachers like Jordon Peterson and yourself thanks for another viewpoint on this I really changed my view on feminism when I had my boys i realised then I’d been told I was a victim and men were the enemy and that actually my situation was due to my own choices.
"When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains, And the women come out to cut up what remains, Then roll to your rifle and blow out your brains, And go to your God like a soldier" -- Rudyard Kipling
Alright, so this is the 12th response video to the Peterson/Newman interview that I've seen so far. I wonder how many more I can watch before I get tired of people ripping that shitshow apart. Enjoying it greatly, so far.
Just a quick note: I'm a spectator and have only posted a comment once before but you deserve a standing ovation. So I thought I'd give you one. Well done.
Thank you so much for this analysis! I've been watching you and Jordan Peterson for a little over a year now. I've never commented, ever, until today. After watching that "debate" I want it to be known, yes women are watching. And both you and him have given my life more understanding and meaning especially in the illogical and emotionally charged arguments swarming us at this time. Keep up the amazing work! I dig intelligent, competent, and articulate individuals with sound arguments backed up by reason and facts!
I have never talked to anyone in my entire life, man or woman, my wife or my kids or at work ect like Cathy Newman did to Jordan Peterson in that interview. If I did. my wife would leave me. my kids would not talk to me nor accept my love. my employees would quit. my customers would shop elsewhere.
SJW friends of mine do it all the time. Every conversation is me saying "That is not what I said". After all the red herrings and pointless diversions we get about 2 minutes to the hour of idea exchange.
I've heard it said that women's brains are adapted not to detect hardships that affect adults, but hardships that affect children, and this is one of the reasons women are often cold when men are on the verge of sweating. Obviously this is only a partial adaptation, since women are perfectly capable of functioning as adults when they need/want to, but I wonder to what extent it is responsible for women feeling underserved by society. Are they really underserved by society, or are they campaigning for better treatment because their maternal instincts are primarily concerned with securing the most possible advantages for their hypothetical children? It seems very likely to me that this is a vestigial instinct, which is just as out-of-place in modern society as is the male instinct to get into fistfights.
You give women too much blame for doing it on purpose. Consider this: All adults start life as children, and women have many features that never mature beyond childhood (a biological trait known as "neoteny"). These traits include, but are not limited to: Smaller jaws, smaller ribcages, lower percentage of skeletal muscle, stretchier ligaments, lower bone density, higher percentage of body fat, finer body hair, freer expression of emotional states, etc. Men have some neotenic traits as well, because _all_ modern humans are domesticated compared to our ancestors. That's why we can do things like digest milk as adults, be curious instead of apprehensive, and learn new skills our entire lives. However, if women's sensitivity to pain, cold, threat of attack, threat of starvation, etc., never mature beyond childhood, then they aren't consciously exploiting men so much as they are victims of their own evolutionary adaptation -- they can't help it if their amygdalas freak-out at the prospect of potential dangers that are only a serious threat to children. The amygdala can never be completely re-trained, no matter how hard you try -- some of its functions are hardwired. Why would this happen? It's not because females are inherently more fragile -- there are many species where the females are larger and stronger than males. For humans, it's simply that an adult caretaker who feels things the way a child would will be better able to anticipate the needs of a child, _without_ needing to waste precious time _relearning_ how to think like a child through trial and error (i.e. dead children). Thus an adult caretaker who feels things the way a child would is going to be more capable of ensuring a child's survival. Women can consciously override _some_ aspects of their neoteny, of course, just like men can override _some_ aspects of their hunter/fighter adaptations -- but that requires constant mental effort. Everyone has bad days, and bad days are more likely to happen when you are constantly being pestered by your amygdala about all of the things that _might_ go wrong. The only women who are _guilty_ of anything are the ones who understand their evolutionary adaptations and don't do anything to rein them in, while demanding that _men_ must still rein-in their own evolutionary adaptations. Those women do exist, but I think bitter men overestimate their numbers.
Shawn Elliott I don’t see how this would be any different from the male drive to provide the best life he can for his offspring. After all, I assume this is why men work so much. Babies ain’t cheap. And better treatment for a woman in the workplace has nothing to do with how my child is treated, unless you’re talking about about pay, which, yeah, like a dude, I’m gonna hustle in order to put my offspring in the best material position possible. It’s really the *least* you can do for your kid. If you don’t have kids, then you yourself materialistic. Vestigial traits are often overcome through our respective faculties of reason. A man might WANT to get into fistfight, the great majority do not. My reptilian brain is telling me to eat the brownie in my kitchen, which I don’t need. Through logic, I go over what’s going to happen if I eat or don’t eat it. Yes, this is a thing with humans. And I’m sorry, I’m not getting the sweating thing. Identification with a child is not the same as enmeshment.
"So what you're saying" "So what you're saying" "So what you're saying" "So what you're saying" I hope Cathy re-watches this interview and see's how ridiculous her style of debate is and hopefully improves
Jeremy James, she actually has good points and she's only pointing out how ridiculous Cathy Newman is being which everyone can see with their own eyes. The only people who cant see it are dumb. You only need to watch the actual news show without anyone pointing it out and its pretty obvious without this lady commenting on it. Just cos you dont like the way she talks doesnt make her wrong. The majortiy of people agree feminism has changed woman and men already have equality, name what rights woman dont have that men have? Also look up what rights woman have that men dont and you will find we as in men actually have less rights than woman and are treated harsher than woman are when it comes to behavior and also receive toughr prison sentences. I dont know how in this day and age with having google that people cant just do a simple google search. Actual research has been done on most things so its pretty easy to find out.
This woman is something, she’s the gift that just keeps on giving. The levels of wrongness she exhibits in such a short time is like a Mandelbrot set of wrongthink. Looking closer, just reveals more wrongness... In 30 years she could very well be the most famous woman in the world.
Ill try and remember play this vid next month, your conciseness and clarity really hit the noodle headed doornail squarely on the head. In a way my dislexia can compute, those be some sharp crayons thanks for using them.
Doesn't matter if Peterson was a man, he is simply very intelligent, high IQ, and really an honest individual seeking the truth. That is what happens when Kathy and company live in a bubble and surrounded by people of same thoughts/ideas and meet an outsider who shocks them.
It's called living in an ideological echo-chamber. Anything that doesn't match the same things you've heard bounding around over and over again registers as threat or even heresy-against-doctrine (if the ideology has degraded to the level of a religion one is relying upon to produce feelings of "saved-ness" and "right[eous]-ness".
That's as silly as concluding that just because you have a vagina you are an evil witch by default. One of the things that has landed him in hot water with the University . . . is that he WON'T toe the line and remain silent when he sees something shocking.
I honestly can't thank you enough. The quote from Peterson around the 12 minute mark is exactly how I feel about your show and the other badgers. I genuinely love you and I want to help you out when I can. I'm able to give a little right now, but it's all I can. Please just give me a year. Thanks again
Even just commenting on their video has value. Don't feel bad if you're not able to donate money at this point. I wish you well, wherever you are and whatever your circumstances may be.
Wow, Karen you really are on it! What a great intellect. You understandably feel that people like Cathy Newman thwarts real equality, but intelligent women like you are doing sterling work in undoing and mitigating this damage. Keep up the great work.
There were 2 comments in that interview that stuck out to me and that i have heard nobody mention. He not only destroyed all of her arguments he even had the courtesy to try and subtly warn her about what she was doing and what could happen as a result. Seriously watch it back and notice first when she begins her tactics that he warns her that he is very very careful with how he chooses his words. Does this not seem likely especially from him knowing how he handles himself to be an attempt to let her know that those games are not going to work with him. Only he was too polite to say it as directly as my description of the message did. The second thing to listen for is when they are discussing predictors for success he makes a direct attempt to warn her of the consequences of high negative emotion. It is around the 19 minute and 30 second mark. But again she fails to listen and interrupts him and moves the course of the conversation. Maybe it is hindsight on my part noticing these things but just those 2 comments seem to forshadow not only how the entire interview worked itself out, but also the backlash she faced from the public after they saw it. I dont get how she could be surprised by the reaction she got unless she is so delusionally ideologically detached from reality that she really doesnt understand how audiences work. We as people tend to be empathic toward others and once one person makes statements that hit home with you and ring true you begin to identify with that person on some level. What happens then is that portions of the audience begind on some small level as if the attacks on that person they are identifying with are coming in some small way toward themselves. Add in picking up on the level of negative emotion she is throwing at him and it is no wonder that people responded in a vitriolic manner. What is honestly amazing to me is that it was as mild as it was. I mean most people watched this on youtube. Think about the usual level of ignorant and mean spirited statements you will see on even 2 youtubers disagreeing and ask yourself it the youtube comments on that video seem even remotely in the same league and it makes it painfully obvious that the calling in of security is just a pr move.
my namejeff And, yet, he was wrong- he didn't choose his words carefully- why don't you take that bit for what it was- an attempt to gaslight and intimidate her into deigning to question his claims?
hexum7 what the actual hell are you talking about? Seriously. That makes literally no sense. Have you ever watched him before or her? She did the entire time what she always does. Do you even know what gaslighting even means. He was obviously trying to get her to question her views, as they are wrong. But he was using facts and not psychological manipulation, how in anything he said do you get him trying to manipulate her into questioning her own sanity. Please learn what a word means before using it instead of just repeating the phrases that are being thrown around these days.
my namejeff Yes. I know what gaslighting means- it's exactly what he did here. He not only denied that he used the imprecise words he denied using , he made a declarative sentence that it was not possible that he used such words, because he simply doesn't do that. Please review the actual tape. Ps- originally the term gaslighting referred to a movie in which a husband tried to get his wife to think that she was going insane, but as a colloquialism, it means simply manipulating someone into thinking that something that did not actually happened a certain way did, so I used it correctly, more or less
Jas AAgain, review the tape Peterson initially says , about the pay gap , the "Multivariable analysis proves that it doesn't exist". Later he says " I didn't say ( the gap) doesn't exist. I said it doesn't exist due to sex,. I'm very very careful with my words" Do you not see it, now?
"Whats in it for them" what a selfishly horrible thing to say. What if I had said the same thing when i noticed a woman driving her car having a stroke? "Oh well i'm already late for work, someone else will help". She would be dead if not for the help of me and another commuter. When someone is so obviously helpless the sane response is to try and help or find someone who can, same goes for these men seeking understanding and solace in Dr Peterson's words.
Besides, Peterson's message isn't only for men. It just so happens that men are more starved for it than women. That doesn't mean that it doesn't have value for women as well. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Peterson says during the interview that 80% of his audience is male. So guess who the other 20% are (minus a hermaphrodite or two)
As a 22 yro woman myself, I can vouch for the fact that women need to hear his message too. Dr Peterson's teachings helped me to take a leap of faith and start my own pet services business. I'm in the minority of his audience. I say men because like you say they are the majority of his audience and thus the bulk of the people who will be hearing the message, probably the majority of people who WANT and NEED to hear it too.
It is worse then that, actually. Most SJWs, if they ever got into a position of power, would use it to hurt others if it helped them. This is not just speculation. I have a story to tell that shows how this actually happened. They can complain about oppression happening to folks at the top of their hierarchy of valued people, but if a white, cis, het man who has put a roof over their heads and gave them his life savings is murdered in broad daylight in front of them in order to advance their cause, they would be indifferent or even rejoice.
"If YOU were A woman being paid, on average, 9% less than A man..." That makes no sense at all. How the hell does her brain function? She appears to manage to formulate an example talking about both the general and specific at the same time in some kind of logical quantum duality.
Yes, I noticed that. You might as well say "If you were an average parent with 1.8 children, how would you feel having to find clothes that fit 0.8 of a child?"
I think my response to Cathy's tirade about the "pay gap" would run something like this: "Do you expect the person who sweeps the floor of this studio to be paid exactly the same amount as you? Will you be going to the Board of Channel 4 immediately after this interview, and demanding that they pay the janitor the same as you? Are you willing to demand a pay rise for the janitor, or will you instead demand that they cut your pay to match what they pay the janitor? If not, why not? The janitor's job is an important one. Without them doing their job, you'd be having to work in a pig sty. Don't you think it is unfair that someone who's job is so important but which gives him no fame or public recognition should be paid less than you? That's where so much of your precious pay gap comes from."
Marxist, including those who wear a skirt who call themselves "feminists", never think that their ideology will ever cost THEM anything, that THEY will have to be the one's forced to sacrifice anything. It's always someone else they expect to pay them and/or the impoverished whom they use as human shields.
@@RespectMyAuthoritaah Female solipsism. Very few women are like Karen or the small handful of women who've posted their support here. Most are solely interested in the 'whats in if for me' part of the deal, and never stop for a millisecond to contemplate the possibility that they aren't the grand center of the whole universe. Men are just NPC's in a woman's private MMO- interchangeable, disposable, and most importantly to their fantasy narrative, without feelings or needs of their own. They tend to turn every single conversation about men, men's rights, men's problems, men's needs on its head to instantly become a discussion of women and their wants, needs, problems, and so on. It's pretty damn hard to have an honest, fair and intelligent conversation with most women about such things, because they'll automatically ignore your words, your points, the entire subject, and turn it into being about them instead. Just like this ignorant effenist crunt tried to do to JP. Sickening.
“Why should your right to freedom of speech trump a trans person’s right not to be offended?” “Because in order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive. I mean, look at the conversation we’re having right now. You’re certainly willing to risk offending me in the pursuit of truth. Why should you have the right to do that? It’s been rather uncomfortable. You’re doing what you should do, which is digging a bit to see what the hell is going on. And that is what you should do. But you’re exercising your freedom of speech to certainly risk offending me, and that’s fine. More power to you, as far as I’m concerned.”- JP
That. Was. Brilliant. By far the best and most even analysis and breakdown of this event that I’ve seen yet. You ma’am have a brilliant mind, and I love your passion. Have a sub.
*Cathy is a bot who's software hasn't been updated yet.* Her arguments about the unfairness of the pay gap were more convincing in the past when people believed that women get paid less for doing the exact same job. Once that nonsense was thrown out, this talk of unfairness went out along with it, but she didn't update her arguments. Then came the "you're a provocateur" line, which would've applied to Milo (whom she interviewed in the past), but she's now dealing with a different person for whom that old line doesn't apply. Someone in the tech department needs to urgently update her software to avoid system errors in future interviews. I mean, she literally crashed during the interview!
Equality of Opportunity vs Equality of Outcome Freedom of Choice, leads to a difference of Outcome. Oppression of Freedom, leads to Equal Outcome. That's what I got when I saw this "debate".
Karen on fire! Hell yes, thanks for doing this. I hate to be a cynic but when I think of how financially rewarding this episode was, I can only dream it was a genuine.
I've said it elsewhere, she gets confused at his response to "the 'right' not to be offended" because she believes that men don't have that "right." She's got no response because she can't say that outright, but it's all she's thinking. She knows that if she says it her whole equality narrative falls apart.
Direwolf13PS3 at 2016 I can't believe she was still a thing. I thought her popularity would've died out, but apparently cry wolf is SUPER EFFECTIVE when you're a perpetual "victim"
Thanks for your thoughts Karen. You're fair minded, genuine and strong and the world needs more incredible women like yourself. You're literally a breath of fresh air. May you be unstoppable at everything that you set your mind to and have a massive platform where you can be heard and understood. May your positive impact be far reaching and sure. Personally, I support you in my prayers know that "the force is with you" guiding keeping and protecting you. One love :)
"Pick up your damn cross and walk up that hill!" Words from Jordan Peterson that apply to any person on this planet, regardless of gender or identity or status. His words still ring in my ears after hearing that sentence long ago.
Karen!!! Wowzer! Been following you for a couple of years and loved this review of the Newman debacle! One of my favourites to date. Love your sneering disdain of Cathy’s idiocy but effortlessly Punctuated With Cold Hard Clear and Concise SENSE!!! Amazing!!! Love you implicitly! Xxx
I so wish Jordan had asked her if she'd be prepared to work in a coal mine for a 9% pay rise. Then when she says no, say don't you think it's unfair to expect women to earn as much as men if you're not prepared to do the sort of things men do to actually earn that extra money.
I am reminded of a joke from the late Myron Cohen..... Man in a restaurant says to the waiter " excuse me but my lobster only has one claw." The waiter replies " yes , sir he got into a fight with another lobster in the tank." The man replies " So, bring me the winner."
Somehow I missed your critique of this now infamous interview which I've watched multiple times. Your commentary brings forth brilliant insight of the core of their argument.
Brilliant evisceration, Karen. Your arguments were convincing and around the 14-15 minute mark, quite emotionally moving too. Well done and thank you. You make a difference.
My wife works in a hospital and her male colleagues make the same amount of money. Is the pay gap really only about rich women making less than rich men?
NotReallyABlessing no it’s largely down to women taking a break from work to have children, and then most likely going on reduced hours or part time. in some instances women under 30 out earn men their age.
NotReallyABlessing Only a portion of it. A small portion given the ratio of those jobs against the overwhelming majority of jobs out there. You have to take special notice when the word "median" gets used in contexts like this. The poster above covered the majority of the rest. Now, when will be the time when they analyze the number of layoffs, injuries, and deaths between the two sexes at work? Can't exactly be part of an "earnings gap" if you aren't participating in the job market afterall...
The pay gap doesn't even take into account the type of work. It's just average earnings vs average earnings. It doesn't even take into account hours worked. For example in my line of work you have industrial labourers, mostly men $24 an. Hour. You have operators, techs, specialists, vast majority men, up to $50 an hour. Then you have safety watches, fire watches (sparks) first aiders, field admin, housekeeping. Many more women doing these then anything else. All those pay $15 to $20 so is that a pay gap? No the guys doing safety watch get the same as the girls and vice versa. It's job choice and job based skills.
rustyscrapper yeh but as long as the reasons for the pay gap require a slightly above average attention span to comprehend we will continue to see the argument brought back into circulation. After all most people will intuit that there should be no pay gap in a fair society even if the argument to the contrary is far stronger.
I think the reason is that Karen had the luxury of time and preparation on her side. Every time I have seen Peterson speak about this it has been in a live interview, and eloquent and knowledgeable as he is, there is a lot to be said for usefulness of "practice makes perfect"
Within ten minutes of this video going up, Channel 4 had hit me with a copyright takedown. I filed a dispute based on fair use and it's now viewable again, but have lost my monetization privileges on this video for up to 30 days, the fuckers.
Gotta love it. They set it up so you can't make a dime during the period your video will get 90% of its lifetime views.
karen straughan I will re watch it in 31 days! Thank you for all the great videos and insights.
It's criminal what they do to commentary channels like yours, Karen. I think the law (DMCA) should be amended to punish frivolous complaints.
That's because speaking against The Empire is unpatriotic lol
I'll watch it once every day in a month's time, for 30 days. LOL
Young and smart and on track, Mellie!
Good luck at university. x
Mellie

Was that a metal gear solid reference?
You do know that figures of speech exist before someone puts them in a videogame, right?
It also goes back to the issue of Agreeing vs Disagreeing. Peterson said that she has not been agreeable and one could assume he is saying that she is disagreeing in what has been said. If Cathy has been "agreeable" then she wouldn't be where she is at in the first place.
Can't read faces well, can you (statement not question).
Even if her fiddle was "Off Key"... lol
BRICKSTRIDENT I hope your son finds his path, realises his worth and comes back stronger soon! Thanks Karen for being a ray of light in a dark time.
I wish you and your son well.
What I find terrible is that anytime you would point this to any feminist, she would reply: "Boohoo, women felt like that for centuries"...
I often wonder how much of Dr. Peterson's audience are middle aged empty nesters like me :-)
Tiktaalik Jesus Christ, what a pathetic wimp you are. Calling Peterson names without bringing up any of his points, typical.
Helga R
Leave them alone. Maybe you should stop trying to convince her that *you’re* right. Your children aren’t you, they are their own people. Get over it. Even Peterson, a psych, would say that.
Helga R If they went to college, there is your answer.
“What’s in it for me?” Is a perfectly valid question men should ask it more often.
Tenmir Destruction totally agreed with ya. Red Pill at its finest.
Dusk Prowler Exactly, I thought the same. Group identity is the toxic element of this question.
"What's in it for women?" say's it all.
Briffault's law maintains that “the female, not the male, determines all the conditions of the animal family. Where the female can derive no benefit from relationship with the male, no such relationship takes place.”
and by relationship you mean sexual encounter and repeated sexual encounters?
Karen Straughan and Jordan Peterson traveling road show. I think it needs to happen.
oh hai Xerox! fancy seeing you here?

Heh. Hey Susan.
Yes, do it in an election year.

A female viewer here. You use the re-framing arguments when battling feminism that I use. As a result of this, people run away from arguments with me. You are my kindred spirit, Karen. An inspiration for a female who had felt lonely among my own gender for a very long time.
My hero-ine. /salute
22:10 "women do make it on equal terms Cathy, most women just don't like the terms"
Priceless, Karen, priceless...
Sopho Nax Karen runs a podcast called the honey badgers. It’s really worth listening too
christopher tucker Thanks a lot, I'll check it out!
Sopho Nax my thoughts exactly, only you said it better than I could!👏
Sopho Nax It goes deeper than that. The point is to drive a political wedge between the sexes so theyre easier to manipulate into lesser of the two evils voting
As a woman I feel the same way.
Never seen that interview with Jordan on bbc radio. Made me want to cry
rationalmartian I don't think so. I'll check it out
Here you go: ruclips.net/video/E6qBxn_hFDQ/видео.html
Peterson realized that he needed to play the role of a psychologist working with a client and not an interviewee being interviewed by a journalist, and proceeded accordingly with smiles and challenges to her silly assumptions. It was golden to watch, especially at the "got'cha" point.
I noticed that...all of a sudden he checked himself and realized he was going to have to play psychologist to patient mode...or parent to child.
Best analysis of the interview Ive seen. I had to chuckle at JP daring to speak about things hurting men and Cathy immediately changes the subject and comes out with "What's in it for the women", and thinks she can get away with it. And yet we live in a patriarchy....
‘I had to battle for my position’
As opposed to all the men who have all their success handed to them for no reason 😂
I really appreciate how your videos don’t have tedious intro/outro bullshit attached. I’m 30, I don’t need to be delighted by flashing lights and loud music lmao
KaliFortuna Good point, all those bells and whistles are only meant to attract low functioning millenials
So you're saying
So you're saying
So you're saying
So you're saying
I'm already insane but that would send me over the top
john mcmanus so your saying, you want to be over the top of everyone one else?
Jordan Peterson: Tide Pods are absolutely not safe for human consumption.
Kathy Newman: So you are saying, they are delicious with milk?
So you're (not) saying (what I want you to mean)...
I'll come back next month and view this again, to help with the monetization issue. Maybe everyone could do that.
i'm down for that. this is excellent commentary
I second that!
good idea. on my calender.
Will do 👍🏽
I thought of doing it... But I am kinda forgetful, I will remember at some point
I had never seen the clip of Peterson getting choked up while talking about his audience before. That really hit me; right in the feels.
spiderleenie I got emotional watching h8m get emotional.
Recently looked up the workplace fatality rates in Canada for 2016 = 905 total
864 M , 41 F , . . . the "death gap" of more than 2000%
That's a really massively important statement. Where I work has very liberal flexi-time. MOST men do overtime. ALL the women do flat hours. There's your pay gap.
Keith Jaffray That's crazy and probably a good point to bring up!
Paul Price another great point!
I'm surprised that women have even that many deaths in the workplace. I would have thought it would be in the single digits.
Yes at last a point that is so true. In all this BS
A shining example of why I fucking love watching JBP in action. It is incredibly cathartic to watch immutable truths calmly and deftly cut through the cacophany of buzzwords and crybully reeeeeing with the accuracy of a laser to obliterate all of the paper-thin "arguments".
Bora Bosna - I'll bet your fun at bingo night.
I had enough of post-mortems of the Cathy/Jordan interview. After watching two dozen, it's enough. But if Karen Straughan has something to say, I fucking listen.
You watch too much content overlap bud
Same dude. Karen is way smart.
Karen gets it... and better yet... she knows how to articulate it better than the multi-millionaire Cathy from Channel 4.
Karen and that Cathy twat are differernt species. Karen is actually born with a brain. And she knows how to use it.
You're projecting your own emotional bias onto my words. You are indeed the one who should chill out. I made a neutral comment. No emotion attached.
Words inherently carry no emotion. The projection of your own emotional bias does not mean that I am emotional, just because you are.
I'm a woman...I'm following you! Wish there were more women out there like you! Thank you for what you do and fighting for the rights of my husband and son and millions of other men in our country!
*"Do you want an overgrown child for a partner?"*
That wasn't actually a question for Cathy, IMO. It was one for men.
"Nope!" #MGTOW
so it turns out that JP as a practising clinical psychologist and someone specialises in assertiveness training
turns out being aggressive and confrontational isn’t the best technique to try on him
Cathy handled herself, the way a seizuring horse handles juggling flaming chainsaws.
Picky Psychology Student whilst balancing on an oversized beachball?
so what you are saying is JP used jedi mind tricks on poor cathy?
being cool, calm and collected, using reason and logic and not falling for stupid baiting and mischaracterization is now considered a "jedi mind trick"....lol
me thinks you missed the joke
Love your video! My only disagreement is that Jordan did not make her look like a fool. She gets 100% credit for revealing herself as being a fool. Keep up the good work!
That isn't the role of JP. Leave it up to others that specialize in ridicule to play that role.
Dr Peterson didn’t have to make a fool of her & he knew that. He waited & answered patiently & then unleashed his gotcha moment, that’s the moment you see an intellectual heavyweight unload some power. Dr Peterson barely broke a sweat, his checkmate move was all class.
Actually you didn't see it, and he admits he played it poorly.
L.A Xavier Actually, I did see it and I did hear Peterson’s self-criticism of his “got ya” remark. He handled himself extremely well (if not perfectly) during this ambush interview.
I can't say he acted perfectly, he did get angry. He allowed his emotion to misrepresent his argument.
10:49 "It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men." - Frederick Douglass
Karen you are consistently excellent and have been since you started on youtube. Bravo.
Cheers!
Very much so. And I was confident that you'd be supportive of Dr Peterson. As a British woman I'm disgusted at the approach Cathy Newman took.
Im one of those too, Karen. Just so you know : )
Marni M yes!
Im a fan and not a woman, should I feel ignored or treated unfairly? J/K...
Always a pleasure to hear Karen's particular critical insight and synthesis.
xD "Standing Ovulation" I need to sleep...
Malicious Affection “Standing ovulation!” Lol! Good one! :o)
This is a stunningly beautiful comment on that ridiculous interview. Brilliant work Karen.
Cheat codes my dude, just gata press the buttons in the right order.
Natasel If I ever run out I can collect welfare and buy more.
Female fan here. You’re great. Keep these vids coming, Karen.
Oldish Millennial same here👍
No, it's actually good to know that there are women listening, since "RUclips is mostly male."
derangius oh stupid me.
woman here- and a Kathy- almost 50 ...
It also probably doesn't recognize the word androcentrism either, to be fair.
Here's my findings. :) (There's also Fun Facts and Exercise Advice.)
>One White Nationalist is Violent< *Reaction:* "ALL THESE VIOLENT NAZIS!!!!" >Islamists Behead and Enslave people consistently< *Reaction:* "That's not _all_ Muslims, you dumb bigot." This kind of thinking is what's causing Political Violence.
Or I could have gotten only 4 of those brand new. >;D
False Rape Allegations ruin Mens Public and Professional lives. :')
Democrats have had uninterrupted control over Chicago for 84 years.

All of it was made from previously Living things. Let's hope Scientists can't find a way to imitate that. It'd probably eventually be used for Horrific things, and help Destroy the Environment. There are 3 things I know of to modify text on YT. _ , - , and * . _This,_ -This,- and *This. ;)* Everything inside the symbols will change, they must be only touching one side of one character, with both on the very end of what you're changing. Just because something doesn't make you feel good, doesn't mean it's not what's better for the World.
There are Islamic Grooming Gangs that Rape European Women and Highschool Girls, typically for not wearing a Hijab and not being Muslim.
(note you can donate as little as a dollar a month, which doesn't seem like much but makes a difference if many people do the same)
she's got a patreon, but doesn't seem to advertise it too often. go to the "about" section on her youtube page, and then go down to Links, and you'll find it listed there.
i'm no financial confidante of karen's, nor have i ever met her in real life or even spoken to her personally online. i'm just a fangirl who has been amused, enriched, and most importantly, enlightened by her videos. i just wanna support her, and inspire others to do so too :)
Fuck off women
@Hindu History A woman brought you into this world. You were born with her blood dripping from your body. I’m glad she didn’t fuck off... because if she had, you wouldn’t be alive to sit here and tell women, who are attempting to understand your struggle despite society screaming to them that only their struggle is important, to fuck off. ❤️
@@missyleigh6198 He/she could be troll those feminist hiding behind names and avatar. LOL that anonymous person got triggered. Ha ha ha.
You are a MORON.
I don't think Peterson made a fool out of Newman. He just gave her plenty of chances to seem like one. She did it to herself.
He revealed her inner fool. :P
As a fan of both Peterson and Karen, I think this is one of the best analyses I’ve seen on the debate.
Definitely.
She brought up some key points that when put into perspective by use of analogies made it seems a lot worse! Like the moment she said "What's in it for women". I didn't even think of it as a bad thing (probably because I'm so used to feminists using these types of talking points...
Best review of this interview yet, hope Cathy herself watches it.
Hahahaha you're implying she's open to any criticism? (I wish but I fear not)
I've been spamming twitter with the suggestion that "questioning the lobster" should be the analog term in journalism to "jumping the shark".
We all have a duty to play fair, act kindly, foster understand, speak the truth (at least don’t lie) and make a positive impact on those around us."
Brilliant.
It’s ridiculous that women shouldn’t be concerned about young men. For one thing, many of us are or will be mothers of sons. And our daughters will need partners. I’m speaking as an older woman with children and grandchildren.
Frau Katze a mentality such as yours would be perceived as a kryptonati (threat).
Bora Bosnia your comment and personal view point is paramount for the well being of both species. You paragraphs are well appreciated.
I laughed when she said: most of your viewers are male. Like thats a problem.
Does anybody know what the demographics are of Newman's viewers? Probably not a 50/50 split on gender lines, or exactly reflecting the population on race, religion, gender identity or geography. If it turns out that disproportionally, her audience consists of urban females, that could indicate a problem.
And, to think that "isn't that divisive?" as if its a fact that can be controlled...
People are gonna study this interview for decades aren't they? What a goldmine for future historians of media and politics.

Alright, so this is the 12th response video to the Peterson/Newman interview that I've seen so far. I wonder how many more I can watch before I get tired of people ripping that shitshow apart. Enjoying it greatly, so far.
It could happen. It's like food, if you eat enough of even your absolute favorite food, you can get sick of it.
Just a quick note: I'm a spectator and have only posted a comment once before but you deserve a standing ovation. So I thought I'd give you one. Well done.
Karen's analysis here is outstanding!
TokyoRealEstateMan 渋谷ShibuyaRepublic.org Exactly. She was an appalling pig, a disgrace to my gender.
A disgrace to your gender? Hell, she's a disgrace to journalism and a poster child for birth control.

Well, yeah. But friends is friends.
Thank God you exist Karen. Thank God! And thank YOU!!!! I mean that from the bottom of my heart! x
Sharp comments, thanks.
Shawn Elliot - Very interesting comparison and point.
Shawn Elliott
I don’t see how this would be any different from the male drive to provide the best life he can for his offspring.
Great video, you are a very intelligent and informed person. Glad I found you. Thank you for all the excellent comments.

I hope Cathy re-watches this interview and see's how ridiculous her style of debate is and hopefully improves
Jeremy James She won't, she'll still try to twist what her debater says. It's infuriating, but it screams "I don't have an argument!"
Gaz Hawks I was talking about Cathy Newman not having an argument to counter Peterson's points. But thank you for the unnecessary lecture.
+ROO2. No argument - but - a real agenda.
The Cathy Newman interview is my favorite movie since the Dark Knight.
+ euro. Peterson works at a Canadian university - that makes him an employee of the Canadian government & disingenuous ( to be generous) by default.
That's as silly as concluding that just because you have a vagina you are an evil witch by default.
One of the things that has landed him in hot water with the University . . . is that he WON'T toe the line and remain silent when he sees something shocking.
"Echo-chamber" might be the word your last sentence is seeking.
idiot con artist? that is quite an accusation to make. Do you think you can elaborate on why you think that?
Hexum7 How the fuck did you come up with that crap? You must be just as delusional as Newman.
Jas AAgain, review the tape Peterson initially says , about the pay gap , the "Multivariable analysis proves that it doesn't exist". Later he says " I didn't say ( the gap) doesn't exist. I said it doesn't exist due to sex,. I'm very very careful with my words"
Do you not see it, now?
Thanks Karen Straughan, splendid.
This is the best response to this interview that I have seen.
Ganjiblob Flankis Dr. Randomercam's puppet has more functioning brain cells than that cup of ramen on TV.
Ganjiblob Flankis
Like islamic 'science' feminist 'logic' makes anything possible!
Ganjiblob Flankis both the alt right and the feminists have this "feature"
I am sure that as a male, when he started his teaching career he was never paid any less the the highest paid professor.
Yes, I noticed that. You might as well say "If you were an average parent with 1.8 children, how would you feel having to find clothes that fit 0.8 of a child?"
- J. "why wouldn't you have to battle for a high quality position ?"
- C. "because I'm a woman."
The truth will prevail. Jordan is the thinking mans Jesus.
Of course as a narcissist she thinks her demands are reasonable. LOL
Sickening.
“Why should your right to freedom of speech trump a trans person’s right not to be offended?”
“Because in order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive.
Two of my favorite minds in a same vid... oh happy days ;)
Karen just blows me away! Great dissection of the discussion.....
Hahaha, Karen, you are awesome.
You ask all the right question and make all the right points!
So glad I found your channel! :-D
That. Was.
+1 Anon.
Equality of Opportunity vs Equality of Outcome
Freedom of Choice, leads to a difference of Outcome.
Oppression of Freedom, leads to Equal Outcome.
That's what I got when I saw this "debate".
Karen on fire! Hell yes, thanks for doing this. I hate to be a cynic but when I think of how financially rewarding this episode was, I can only dream it was a genuine.
Great breakdown of what i think will become a real turning point in the culture war by the response to it. More power to you Karen xXx
This, along with Paul Weston's are easily the two best dissection's of this memorable tv moment that I have seen.
I've said it elsewhere, she gets confused at his response to "the 'right' not to be offended" because she believes that men don't have that "right."
She's got no response because she can't say that outright, but it's all she's thinking. She knows that if she says it her whole equality narrative falls apart.
Anita Sarkesian is still a thing? Thats so 2016 :^).
Direwolf13PS3 at 2016 I can't believe she was still a thing. I thought her popularity would've died out, but apparently cry wolf is SUPER EFFECTIVE when you're a perpetual "victim"
Oh just wait until she decides it’s time to run for public office.
(She showed up at the UN a few years ago for a reason...)
I think her popularity has died off she's struggling to remain relevant if her RUclips view count saw anything.
Direwolf13PS3, she's looking and sounding tired and played out;
Thanks for your thoughts Karen.
Sunny Brown i
So you're saying kill all lobsters.
GaelicMagyar "there's nothing uglier than an old lobster"
Wow! Hardball RUclips censorship. Much gratitude Karen Straughan! Love your brainpower and your raw truth!
She called RUclips divisive. So I checked. They do have a female surcharge to view the videos. Good catch Cathy.
You make a difference.
zakalwe101
I second this guy
Cathy isn't a journalist; she's an actress, and not a good one.
I want to dominate her. And that's ok because that's the way I like it.
Yes but only on Thursdays.
I have seen many people analyze this interview, including Peterson himself. Yours is the best. Well done!
I think the reason is that Karen had the luxury of time and preparation on her side. Every time I have seen Peterson speak about this it has been in a live interview, and eloquent and knowledgeable as he is, there is a lot to be said for usefulness of "practice makes perfect"
This one is pretty good:
ruclips.net/video/PXJeghw-cRk/видео.html
Cardinal Biggles On your advice, I watched this and it was wonderful. Thank you! There is a great interview of him on the “Rubin Report”.
Karen, I appreciate your hard work. Best.
Thank you for everything Karen Straughan
Here's why Jordan Peterson didn't make that impassioned speech about the plight of men to Cathy Newman:
"What's in it for the women though?"
