- Trevor Covich has developed a nifty cast that places your anchor close to you, by passing the line behind you on the lift. He calls it the Rewind Cast. This is a useful cast when you have wind in your face. Plus, it looks cool. See more videos at pureskagit.com.
I've been using that cast occasionally for a few years now. It's a pretty powerful cast, and is definitely useful when the wind is in your face, but I like it because it's so out of the ordinary that it's just plain fun to do it. I feel the same way about the downstream poke, it's just plain fun. It's good to have a name for that cast, thanks.

The benefits of a short head ! I'm raised whit full DT 120' and now I'm fish skagit on small flys not what most people think of skagit ! Why you my ask. Here is the reason. I'm use a switch rod 11.3' it's a 7# and I'm use commando 475gr whit a 5' tip plus leader who is mostly 12' and I'm cast very far whit this light rod and fish hard spots. That's my opinion why I'm use skagit in 225-500gr in light side. And more power range 500-810gr. In micro 150-225gr I'm see a very big benefit! Nice video 👍
