Had major brake issues in mine back in 2000. Locked up while stopped at a red light and never released. Burnt the brakes up the whole way home. Miss that truck.
I just bought a 1978 620! Just learning before I dive in. Mine needs a master brake cylinder and comes with disk in front... Should I look into a better Rotor for the front and back?
Thanks for the wesome DIY video. I've been looking at the same kit for my 521, but I want to upgrade both front and rear. Front looks simple enough. What do you think about the rear?
I have a 78 datsun 620, and I want to convert it to a 5 lug *please don’t ask me why* but what do I need to it? I’m not much of a mechanic but I love to learn.
Was the master cylinder not changed?? It needs to be a front disc brake master, otherwise the residual pressure valve will hold a couple pounds of pressure on the disc brakes, either causing premature wear or worse, dragging front brakes. Drum brake masters have a valve inline the line outlets to hold residual pressure to minimize the outward movement of the shoes.
The master cylinder looks to me to have been changed, check early in the video, good shot of the engine bay. You can also see a power brake booster plainly behind the twin reservoir master cylinder, but no mention of either in the video. I'd like to have some answers to this mystery as well. ;)
Just please don't go puttin those ugly wagon wheels and thin tires on your truck. I love the 521 series and 620 series trucks. They both are really good looking trucks. Hat it though when these guys out there put wagon wheels and thin tires on them, they look good enough with 14 inch wheels and tires, no need for a change like that.
@@waystomakeit2494 Thank you. I found a extremly cheap datsun for under 4k one day I thought about getting it. I was thinking about turning it into a JDM Stance truck but automatic. Do you think it can be build or someone building it around 7-8k even if i dont want a super turbo engine?
Yeah, that ought to be possible. Expect to spend a minimum of $3k on any motor swap (that’s if you do all labor yourself). Keep the stock engine, stance it, find good wheels, and you can keep it under 8@
@@waystomakeit2494 Thank you this helps out alot. One last thing, vinyl wrap. If I want someone to wrap my truck (when ever I'm able to get it), does it make a difference cost wise if I already have the design set up verses them doing it?
I’m not certain, it’ll depend on the vinyl person you use. Wraps are frequently made of layers of vinyl stacked on top of one another. This can be intensive to lay out, especially when you have to re-work someone else’s design to work with the way you are going to actually cut the layersz

Waiting to see the 510 !
Yo that's a 🔥video I got a kingcab can't wait to do this to mines
Thanks mate!
Ok muchas gracias y la transmisión de 5 belosidades
I just put the same kit on mine! Way better! Nice video. I have the same shocks too.
Thanks man!! It’s sure a great upgrade. The KYBs are great. Are you running pinto shocks? They’re slightly shorter and pair well if you are lowered.
@@waystomakeit2494 I am not lowered yet. I am going to extend the shock mounts two inches once I do lower it.
Very nice truck and cool upgrades.
well done video and a sweet lil truck
Sick ass 620
Datsuns ARE rad

Do you have a video on swapping engine ?
I love your camper shell, where did you get it
I've been eyeballing this brake kit for a while so I'd be intrested to hear what impressions are after you guys use it for a while.
It’s a fantastic kit. We filmed this a few months back and the brakes have performed flawlessly since then.
@@waystomakeit2494 Awesome, thanks for the update!
Absolutely!
Would they have any for. A Chevy luv 76 . Would this fit

Hello, where did you get the engine mounts for this swap?
What brake caliper did you use
Where can I get that Brakes Disc System?
Nice truck! What kind of camper shell is that?

What are your fitment specs if you don’t mind me asking?
Hey man, how did you get your oil pan to clear the steering centerlink?
What company did you guys but the brakes
tyre & rim size?

Great video man, I'm going to do the same conversion to my 521. Hey how was the ka24de swap, was it difficult?

És un ka24de que viene en un Nissan 240sx
Great
How much it cost to build this?
The whole truck probably has a minimum of $7-10k into it at this point.
