How was your weekend? Here is a new hour long video for you, this one is by the author of "My job is watching a woman trapped in a room". let me know what you think of the story!
This story has the same energy as "My Sleep Paralysis Demon Is Actually A Pretty Chill Guy", and I loved that one. I love stories featuring benevolent 'monsters' forming bonds with the protagonist. It's heartwarming.
@@TheRealAxolotlAnimates Simply copy & paste "My sleep paralysis demon is actually a pretty chill guy" into RUclips search, comes up no problem. Dark Som covered it. Haven't watched it but I'm going to, sounds great.
This story was really good but disturbing. Imagining what Rusty put Harvey through for 21 years really leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Harvey was cut off from what seemed to a source of power/nourishment, trapped in a dark box, and forced to endure whatever happened to him. Its horrifying. That being said, his mental fortitude is amazing and I think him holding no resentment for Tommy proved that to me. I adored Harvey man.
Same i was practically screaming at tommy as if he'd somehow hear me when he ended up leaving harvey in the basement that day. Also something to note, since he lived in that house for a long time it's possible he'd seen their aunt at some point and decided not to reveal himself to her. Possibly to save her from viewing her nephew in a bad light
@@Ame865 Yeah i was already doubtful of rustys retelling of events and then id heard harveys side. Rusty sounds manipulative, and he also seemed to view his girlfriend the same way he viewed Harvey; like an object to admire rather than a being with their own thoughts and feelings. He wanted to own them, he didnt like the idea that they had free will and that made him angry.
Hey Ronnie, thank you for continuing to narrate for all these years. You are able to make so many people's days better. Keep making videos, we all appreciate the hard work you put in. You're the most veiwed horror narrator on youtube for good reason
There’s such a serenity to this story, it felt beautiful and the ending felt deserved. I also loved the mystery about what exactly Harvey was, it left a lot to the imagination and I imagined him as a sort of a shapeshifter spirit from somewhere beyond our world. I also love this author and his story about the woman trapped in a room is actually my favorite story on the channel, something about their writing and storytelling is very surreal and unlike other stories I’ve listened to. Can’t wait for more.
I really love this story. It is so beautiful!! It is my second favorite close behind "The Left Right Game" followed closely by "Because You Are My Baby."
I really loved this story. I was going to listen to it while I sleep, but I ended up staying up and listening to it, lol! Also, another thing. Would you be able to put the songs that are in the stories in the description? I was just wondering, though.
Harvey reminds me a bit of a studio Ghibli monster: mostly benevolent, but definitely not something you want to try and screw over ifya wanna keep your life...
The part about the joyful anger in both Rusty and their mother... Waiting for an opportunity to be mad at someone and punish them... That was terrifyingly accurate and put it so well into words.
There is an unfortunately large number of these people in reality. They are very tricky to deal with. Best ignored or even avoided when possible, or have a thick hide to withstand their venom until you can part. Self-confidence and dignity are good defenses.
yeah also stuff like being inordinately fixated on disciplining pets (as that's how Rusty clearly say Harvey), eventually drifting into abusive territory, is often a way that latent antisocial personality traits start to show themselves in kids
This is such a bittersweet ending. I wish that Harvey could've stayed with Tommy longer. But I'm just glad that they're both free now and are still friends. One lesson this story taught me was to never hesitate to do the right thing. This, combined with your amazing narration skills just made my Monday. Thank you, DS! ❤
This creature reminded me of the Slavic Leshi. A shapeshifting forest spirit who is more neutral. I honestly love neutral monsters, beings which have their own autonomy rather than just mindless killers. I liked that you used the same voice as the homunculus and the demon from the Tokyo subway, it has a warm depth to the tones which impart ancient wisdom and love!! Congratulations on seven years!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I sort of immediately connected him to the Arkan Sonney, a Manx fairy that takes the form of a hedgehog (although typically an albino hedgehog, not a hedgehog made of wood and leaves, so that part isn't entirely consistent)
I get vibes of "Because you are my baby" and "The thing in my yard has been telling the most horrifying stories" with this one. That is a good thing, as they are among my favorites of you & your team's narrations. This one kept me on my toes until the end. I really like these dark fairy tales. Keep up the good work!
The person who wrote this understands. Under severe abuse like that one does in fact go inside themselves. Especially when they're made to do horrible things. The part where Tommy experienced all the pain with him made me tear up. If in fact that were possible, it would be the greatest gift of all.
Oh man this story brought me to tears. I felt so bad for them as kids. They were so desperate for guidance and the adults around them were so caught up in their own struggles that the kids got left behind. It's such a realistic and tragic story in that regard. Of course, there's no excuse for Rusty's ultimate behavior and I'm glad his punishment wasn't death. Although, I do feel bad for his undoing since a lot of what happened seems to have stemmed from the trauma, its hard to sympathize with him once he became a murderer. You did an awesome job with this story and did it a profound justice. The good groundwork was there but bringing something like this to life takes skill. Thank you as always for the wonderful stories!
I sort of considered that about Rusty as well, but I think Harvey put it best about how there's a price to pay for all of us and eventually that price will be paid. Granted, a fictional story simplifies things more than reality and as far as we know there are no mystical creatures like Harvey to be the arbiter of what the fair price should be, but overall trauma only goes so far as an excuse and it sure as hell doesn't give victims carte blanche to become abusers themselves.
Your channel has brought me thru a tough time in my life 5yrs ago, I was going thru a divorce, so instead of going in the house after work to argue, I would sit in my truck and listen to your stories over and over, for an escape of reality and to listen to stories so my mind could relax, 💯💯💯
@@fatpugg3507 If I may - Random Australian chick here- I'd do the same! Although I would sit in my sedan, not a Truck 🙂🐨. It's nice to know I'm not the only one! Excellent Narration, wonderful stories, every time.
Well that was surprisingly wholesome. It's always nice when we get an unexpected happy ending. Excellent narration as always, I loved the way you did the voice of Harvey. Thanks!
This story gave me a warm-fuzzy feeling but at the same time I feel dead inside. This one will be one of my favourites for a long time. You did such an amazing job with this one! Thank you so much.
Usually I’m into dark stories, but I think the way the author incorporated such beauty and joy into this piece was masterful. I don’t even know how to describe it, it’s just so refreshing to hear a story where the roles are reversed; the evil of man vs the grace of a monster. I really loved this one and I’m gonna get my friends to listen to it, too. Plus, your wonderful voice acting made the whole experience 10 times better. I can’t express how much I adore your narrations. Thank you for creating them, and THANK YOU for being so kind and interactive with your fan base :)
I really like how this story started off, talking about how monsters in stories are often approached from a kind of naive angle, befriending them instead of being afraid as you'd expect. It made me believe that this would end with Harvey being evil, only to subvert my expectations and play into the same trope that was mentioned in the beginning. Incredible story and narration as always!
20 minute's in and I'm completely blown away. I don't know how they did it, but the Author manages to invoke a melonchollic warmth through their writing, it feels like the "stories of dead thing's" story. Effortlessly sad and beautiful.
I just listened to the story too. And as usual he chose to narrate a story that horrified, amazed, and also had a life lesson at the end. Psychopaths can be the person who you least expect it to be. I wish I had a Harvey.❤️
Ah man that was awesome. Not gonna lie, it's been pretty rough on me these last few weeks. I drown in creepypastas in times like these and yours in particular are therapeutic. Thanks for the great narrations. And I like to believe that Harvey is some kind of interdimensional being as he refers to "a land where I'm from" a time or two. A place where reality is a bit more tangible and his kind can move around between the limitations of our own minds and physical restrictions.
If Harvey is a fae, he could be from the fae realm, Tir Na Nog. Which makes sense for a shapeshifting forrest spirit. I need to real the author's other stories to know his mythical inspirations tho. I could be way off base
"My Job is Watching a Woman Trapped in a Basement" is one of my favorites of yours, along with "The Girl the Universe Forgot" and "What Happens When the Stars Go Out." I am very much looking forward to more stories from the author of this story. Harvey reminds me of the spirit tree in "My Job is Watching a Woman Trapped in a Basement."
My God man...the enormity of your talent really shown through in this one! I cannot thank you enough for this gift! My take on the creature was that it was a personification of mother Gaia herself. Infinitely capable, but restrained through the mechanization of man. Im thinking TJ and Rom? As your guests? They both did well! Not sure if the voice of the monster was yours with some effect mechanism? Anyway...thank you again, as always, i am deeply grateful for what you mean to me. Thank you. Your little Insomniac.
Damm lucky then that " gaia mother nature herself " couldnt use her infinite powers to bust a lock on a basement door . The nights and days she must have spent cursing our race and our unfathomable genius and inventions ... If only i could lock my adhd up to like that ! 😂
Props to the author, this story and “My Job is watching a woman” are such a beautiful story that have brought me to tears every listen. Also props to you for this beautiful rendition of this story haha
I really enjoyed this story. It's a nice take on the classic "boy with his monster friend" trope, which has a much darker twist. Harvey's appearance as a leaf devil also gave me a large dose of nostalgia, as my brother and I use to hunt for them around the yard and in the woods. This author is very talented, and your narration really brought the story to life
That was an amazing story! It was so beautiful and terribly sad. Though the two stories arent connected I do believe that the girl trapped in a room one had some "magical" tones to it?.. (please correct me if I'm wrong😳) Regarding what Harvey was, I too think some sort of forest spirit. There's a whole different world we do not see that have sprites, faeries ,nymphs and things like that some say, so it makes total.sense that "where he comes from" could be any of the suggested ideas you had said really.
I could honestly see this as a movie. It was a wonderfully written story, and of course it was well narrated, DS. I think this is the first comment I've actually left, but I listen to your narrations quite often. You're one of my favorites. Thanks for another great story.
i’m so thrilled you uploaded this morning! had to say goodbye to my dog today after 17 years with her, and i needed something to take my mind off it for a little while. so, i’m excited to see what this story holds!!! 🎉❤
This is one of the best stories I’ve ever heard in my life. A story of friendship, redemption, and hope. I hope to see more from this author, as I loved the trapped woman story, as well. I wish I could go to that magical world, myself.
This was such a touching story, with both saddening and heart warming points, with a very satisfying ending. One of my favorites now. I think Harvey was some kind of forest spirit. Thank you for sharing. These are my favorite kinds of creepypastas.
So the authors other story “my job is watching a girl…” is one of my all time favorites you’ve done and I loved this story as well. Finding out it was by the same author and stories take place in the same universe made me so excited! There are so many possibilities and interpretations! You did an amazing job narrating as always! Thanks 😊
Something about Fae like creatures always seems so interesting. The way they are perfectly in tune with something as familiar as nature clashes so perfectly with the alien ways that they behave. It really highlights how divorced we are from nature. It's almost like looking back at where you came from only to find it unrecognizable.
My initial thought about the "creature" was "Oh 💩, it's fae!" This one was really good. Listened to it whenever I had a few minutes today. The ending was definitely worth the wait. This story was definitely another home run. 🥰
Hey I watched ur ADHD video this morning and wanted to know if your memory/other issues have gotten better. it was really comforting to hear my favorite youtuber going through similar struggles as myself and being so vulnerable about it. i was really sad to hear about the memory loss and was wondering if things have gotten better. thank you for another fantastic story!
i listen to these stories when I'm working and they really help me get through the days and weeks when my mental health isn't great. I have a lot going on right now and being able to go into another place for a short time is a much needed break from reality :]
This was lovely. I love psychological creepypastas and that turn into a friendship with the thing that is supposed to be scary. I really loved the story where the guys job is supposed to be watching the woman so knowing it’s the same author/universe is very interesting and it would amazing if you did more from them. That story def made me cry and this one did make me tear up a bit 🥹 I can imagine how hard it must be to pick between your family vs your instincts. I imagined the creature as a forest spirit but he kept saying “my world” which makes me think it could be from another universe - which makes sense too knowing the other story had universe hopping/time travel too. I remember the woman in that story was trying to get back at her crazy ex and there was a magical tree……
This is one of my favorite stories by an AMAZING author!!! I highly recommend checking out all Brandon Faircloth aka VeraStahl narrations and I hope Dark Somnium will start doing more of them!!!❤❤❤
i really enjoy stories like this, the scary parts are based more in reality, as is the more hopeful bittersweet ending. while i do enjoy all the different kinds of stories you narrate, these ones just leave a more profound feeling in my soul. humans are very real and can be incredibly terrible scary creatures that do horrible things, but on the flip side there are always humans that are fundamentally good and care deeply for others, and sometimes they make mistakes but still want so badly to do the right thing. im so glad tommy paid his price to keep harvey as his friend forever. also i just want to say i really appreciate the work you put into these videos. of all the story tellers i've found, you are my favorite by far. your sound design is unparalleled, combined with the original music you create, everything just comes together so well to create such an immersive experience! also i love when you do the longer/multi-part stories, and work with other narrators. left right game is probably my favorite story you've done, & would love to hear more stuff like that, but im sure so much work goes into those! but yeah, thanks again for creating these little worlds we get to pop into, and experience something different from our everyday lives for a little while
I always love a good continuation of other stories done on this channel so I’m here for it. I also liked the twist in this one, the older brother’s qualities seem to come from the mum which is unfortunate and maybe his need to latch onto Harvey is based on him wanting his mum back or something like that. But I love the idea of Harvey possibly being an inter dimensional being I love that typa other worldly stuff. Another great story told by a fantastic storyteller 👏🏾
I've been binge listening to your stories; but this one hit home and made me cry. It hits on the darker side of humanity - the monster is a euphemism that could represent a childhood friend, or a loved one, that in our own selfishness and hatred, turned and hurt someone who didn't deserve to be hurt. It's about redemption - coming to realize that in coming clean with our hurtful ways heals not only ourselves but the ones we've hurt. It's about taking responsibility for our actions and correcting the wrongs we have done to others. Awesome story.
I usually just fall asleep before the story ends because of how soothing your voice is, but I made this one through with my fever lmaooo, I loved it very much, don’t ever stop ❤
Listen to you when I go to bed or take a nap. Anxiety is really bad for some reason as I'm trying to fall asleep. Your voice is so soothing! Thanks for doing what you do.
Hey there I just want to thank you. We celebrated 6 years clean last Monday!!! Your channel has been a life saver!!! Thank you for all that you do for this community!!!
*happy tears* Harvey got out. 😢 Part 2 please when they meet again and enjoy what a friendship can truly be. ^-^ I love these stories. The way they are played out and articulated is just beautiful. I listen while at work and makes time pass so much easier.
Another one to add to the long lists of narrations of yours that I enjoy!!! I really loved this one, the melancholy ending as well as the dawning realization, for me anyways, of the true childhood monster being Rusty. I enjoyed the music tones for this one, I think you did a great job of setting the scene with the soundtrack alongside the fantastic voices!
Loved the story, and as always you did an amazing job. You have been my favourite channel since i found it, absolutely love the music and ambiance of your recordings not to mention what a pleasure it is to listen to your narrations. Thank you and looking forward to the next one!
I love stories like this! Where the monster/entity isn’t defined per say and the situation evolves and isn’t cookie cutter. Love to guess what’s happening and be surprised! Good job 🎉
Sobbing! Amazing and honestly so beautiful and heart warming. The narration of every character was beautifully done and I couldn't ask for better. Thank you to everyone involved.
As someone so gracefully stated, you know it's going to be a good day when dark somnium drops a new vid. This was had me actively intrigued, and it turned out to be a pretty wholesome story imo so that was also a pleasant surprise. Another great vid and another reason why I love this chanel so much. Can't wait to hear more stories from this author
Love you brother. Thank you for being there for me and all the immense and beautiful hard work you’ve done over the years. I always say it but you know I’ll never stop ! ❤
This story was amazing, listening to it outside at 2am on my swings watching the sky full of stars realy helped to escape reality , and ngl the whole time I felt like this story seemed realy familiar, just didn't knew how, now I know, looking forward to seeing you do more of this author work, the girl in the basement story though all these years so far was my fav one. Thanks a lot for your work.
This was easily one of THE best stories I’ve ever heard, from the story itself to the narration and execution + special effects during the story, and I’ve been listening to internet stories for YEARS now, like geez, 7 years now. This is up there, there’s no list I have written out or pre-made in my mind but if there was this would have to at least be in the top 3 Great job
This. This is why if there's intelligent life in the universe other than us, they must never come here. No matter how benevolent they may be, mankind WILL figure out a way to screw it all up. Great story!
Damn Somni I'll say it a thousand times the way you make the stories become so much more than words...the way you make the characters and emotions so powerful....it's like you make these worlds real by just speaking them to existence....you are truly my favorite narrator and I love when you do these types of fantasy stories their my favorite....this along "because you are my baby" and the one with Windy and also the how I became a god are beautiful and I think are some of your best
This story was a banger, got me to feel good at the end, gave me a sense of completeness after listening to it, stories should be like this, whether it's morbidly horrifying, with implications of a gruesome death or a nightmarish future, or it can even be as simple as two friends hugging it out, promising that they'll see each other gain. Stories should give a full 360, a beginning and an end.
This story was absolute kino. I really loved how the author and you the narrator captured that feeling in the basement when he was a kid. Both the fear of if Harvey actually was a monster and the guilt of leaving him if he wasn't.
oh, i absolutely love this. Such a wholesome story and yeah the writer being the same as that other story is super interesting. Right when you said it i immediately felt like they had the same emotional portrayal. I honestly thought it was like a whisp at first and by the end it reminded me of a yeti but like a forest yeti. I have so many favourites from this channel. But, this one makes it to the top! Thanks for making epic content!
Another one knocked outta the park! I feel like this story had a little bit of everything in it. It's a very nice balance to leave you on an even keel with a lot to think on. Hope there's more of this one in the future! Thanks again!
This story made me think of the movie Frailty a lot towards the end. The two brothers growing apart into such different people because of something they shared in the past, the power to show memories, and the monster not being what/who you expected.
This was WAY more full of emotion than I was expecting…damn Dark you made me cry. That hasn’t happened in a good while, thanks for the amazing narration
My man, I don't know how, but you always manage to pick the best stories and narrate them brilliantly My biggest question about this story is still why Harvey was trapped to begin with, who did it and how Harvey just seems like a real standup guy
This very much gave me “because you are my baby” vibes but felt more tangible and grounded in reality- for obvious reasons I think. It had a similar atmosphere at the end there. Cool to know it was written by the same author as “my job is watching a woman “ one and that they exist in the same universe. I might have to go back and give that one another listen. The voicing for Harvey was fantastic. Had me very reminiscent of the Ents in LOTR. You could almost here his wooden body creaking and leaves rustling as he spoke and moved just like they do. I also appreciated the changing in the voice from being trapped and weak compared to in the sunshine and having more strength again. The echo and raspiness came through well to show his deterioration as well as to visualize a cellar basement that he was in. The language he spoke when putting rusty in the dim was epic too lol. I really liked this story. The pacing felt just a smidge slow at some points but nothing crazy and in the end it actually rounded out nicely. I think it helped that it was extremely immersive as well. By the time you were back to “current time” of him being an adult you almost forgot that’s where this story started to begin with. I could clearly picture every scene in my head. The cabin, the aunt, the scenes in the forest, fighting in the bedroom, dad picking them up, etc. it felt very real. I’m not sure if that’s due to the writing overall, the sound design you did, or a collaboration of the two but it all melded together and worked well. I really enjoy these fantasy-esque with some kind of nature element in them. Such a subtly whimsical atmosphere. Bravo in another beautiful narration!
This is one of my favorite stories you’ve done, and should be filmed as a Shudder Original. Harvey is clearly an Elemental, and I wish the author would continue stories with him.
I hope brothers fate is even worse than described and I hope the beings fate is less bad than hinted at. Rarely do I feel rage for someone else, much less a fictional character, so bravo dear author and bravo somnium. Also, I really really hope the brother suffers some more on top of what I said earlier.
690k subscribers and 95k views 2days I think you are becoming part of the 1 percenters great job growing fast. Dark Somnium and friends stay well try to be safe. 2023 hope the algorithm is correct good day. 8/00/2023
This story is not beautiful in a happy fun way. Its beauty is the sadness of a friendship betrayed, of a brother lost to his own obsession, of regrets and a very ambiguous resolution to childhood mistakes. Humphrey was not described as being a specific species, but for me it is simplest to think of him as from the Fae Realm; not a humanoid fae but one of the other species that could exist in such a fantastical location. But there is also the concept of disproportionate punishment; even if Rusty became an Evil person who harmed Humphrey, and many Humans also besides his girlfriend...his Evil choices lasted only around 20 years. So 20 years of Evil...with a punishment of being Alone, A Ghost unable to leave or affect anyone, trapped in that basement 'Forever' ? That seems disproportionate for Rusty who did choose to be bad, but still was a complex person who was not 100% evil, at least if he had regrets like when he was 14 he was not IMO. There was one part that was mundane that was really unrealistic; going through concrete with only a Hammer and a Large Screwdriver. Even if the concrete was 2 inches thick and had no rebar or reinforcement mesh; well for that thickness you could make a hole 3 inches across in an hour if determined. But? Very few basements in the US would have concrete less than 3 inches thick. A very old house might not have any rebar in the basement concrete, especially if when it was originally built it was only a dirt floor and later a Homeowner did the concrete with their own time and budget...not caring about optimum strength but only desiring something better than dirt. So anyway if there was rebar or the concrete was 4" inches thick; it would be so much harder to make a hole in it! Even with a 4 pound mallet and a cold chisel is so hard to chip away at 3" concrete...you really need a sledge hammer or power tools to do much to properly installed concrete that does have rebar.
1. That was super 🔥2. I LOVE that you continue to use the same music outro. It’s signature at this point and should NEVER be changed lol much love Ronnie. Thank you
The sound quality was so good that I kept looking around why I kept hearing sounds and got all paranoid. Holy hell that added some horror and dread to listening to this creepypasta. Edit: This story hit home surprisingly hard. Hiding deep inside of yourself, yeah I know that. Those eyes of joyful rage, yeah. Malicious joyful rage in my case, but still a little sparkle of joy.
The idea that you are allowed to shout and demand things of any living creature is just disgusting. As if it would be okay to treat a dog or a cat like an object. That gotta be the only gripe I have with the story. The implication that Harvey only desserved respect because he was "not a pet". That's just bullshit.
I would say he's absolutely a fae, with all of his abilities and his environmental attributes. But that also doesn't make much sense cuz even though the brothers saved him, fae rarely if ever show gratitude without the other party showing something else that garners the fae's respect. He could legit be a fae that had been trapped for long enough that he dropped his angry and general fae-ish angst, though, I can't imagine how long that would take to happen lol. Excellent story over all! Well written and narrated!
Fantastic story. There is never a drop in quality with your vids. That's part of what sets you apart from the rest. We need to get Ronnie above a mil subs. Its criminal that you are below the like of Mr Creeps.
I really liked this one. I am sure you know that many people that grow up to be serial killers were known to torture animals as children. How he was bullying and eventually torturing the "monster" makes the foreshadowing extra creepy knowing that. It really was a man turning into a monster more than the "monster" ever was. I am sure I will be visiting this one again.

Also, another thing. Would you be able to put the songs that are in the stories in the description? I was just wondering, though.
Wonderful story; well told. Thank you so much
Harvey reminds me a bit of a studio Ghibli monster: mostly benevolent, but definitely not something you want to try and screw over ifya wanna keep your life...
Reminds me of my mother... honestly hit me in a real hard way I didn't expect from my bed time story..
It makes me feel like the story is (at least in part) a metaphor for cycles of abuse and trauma.
Some people thrive off of being angry so they can be justified in hurting others
yeah also stuff like being inordinately fixated on disciplining pets (as that's how Rusty clearly say Harvey), eventually drifting into abusive territory, is often a way that latent antisocial personality traits start to show themselves in kids

@@whenhungrychickenisbest_rm What are the odds of me seeing a fellow MOA here in Dark Somnium's community? Nice to meet you, fellow MOA! 🥰
@@terry_choi Nice to meet you too.
I’m so glad I read this - I was about to have to stop listening because I was afraid Harvey was trapped forever.
Leshy is not just russian, it's a creature all over Slavic cultures
Dont they steal children from villages or something like that?
This was a good comment. :)
@@forodinssake9570 přesně tohle jsem chtěl také podotknout.👍
I get vibes of "Because you are my baby" and "The thing in my yard has been telling the most horrifying stories" with this one. That is a good thing, as they are among my favorites of you & your team's narrations. This one kept me on my toes until the end. I really like these dark fairy tales. Keep up the good work!
ooo those are some great stories :)
I absolutely agree he makes those stories so beautiful
I absolutely love "because you are my baby" I tear up every time.
Ouu THAT'S what this reminded me of!
I adore that story
Made me cry like a baby
"The only monster down here is you." goes hard
B)
Your channel has brought me thru a tough time in my life 5yrs ago, I was going thru a divorce, so instead of going in the house after work to argue, I would sit in my truck and listen to your stories over and over, for an escape of reality and to listen to stories so my mind could relax, 💯💯💯
im so glad the channel could help, I hope youre doing okay these days.
@Darksomnium We got divorced, best thing that ever happened to me, now that's a horror story within itself 😎😎👍🏼🤣
haha oh snap xD
@@fatpugg3507 If I may - Random Australian chick here- I'd do the same! Although I would sit in my sedan, not a Truck 🙂🐨. It's nice to know I'm not the only one! Excellent Narration, wonderful stories, every time.
A wise man once told me, "There's only one woman that a man can trust and that's his mother, but his father cannot trust her."
Well that was surprisingly wholesome. It's always nice when we get an unexpected happy ending. Excellent narration as always, I loved the way you did the voice of Harvey. Thanks!
glad you enjoyed it! :)
This story gave me a warm-fuzzy feeling but at the same time I feel dead inside. This one will be one of my favourites for a long time. You did such an amazing job with this one! Thank you so much.
im so glad you liked the story, I hope you're doing well
Excellent story!! Beautiful
Thank you :) im so glad you liked it!
After three cups of coffee today, it was impossible to unwind and relax UNTIL NOW. Your narrations are a lifesaver 😢
oh dang haha, happy i can help!
3 cups already before 1 o’clock lol damn impressive
Try decaf
Maybe tea could help
Hey i drink three cups just to open my eyes lol
I can't even begin to articulate how happy and grateful I am that Harvey didn't end up being secretly evil
The joy that flows through my body when I’m having a boring day at work and you upload an hour long masterpiece is unexplainable ‼️
more to come!
Loved this one. It’s always fun when the “monster” is just a person, but to have that in a story with a true monster is very nice.
I'm sorry to hear things are rough, I hope things get better for you soon. And yeah I wonder if the author has anymore stories like this :)
If Harvey is a fae, he could be from the fae realm, Tir Na Nog. Which makes sense for a shapeshifting forrest spirit. I need to real the author's other stories to know his mythical inspirations tho. I could be way off base
@@aldranzam3456 I definitely get fae vibes, Harvey could either be a fae spirit or inspired by that mythology.
Can’t believe this upload schedule, my good friend 🎉 I feel like I have something new to listen to from you every other day recently
Thanks for listening more to come!
Lol!
- from a fellow Addy taker
I like this theory
(please correct me if I'm wrong😳)
Regarding what Harvey was, I too think some sort of forest spirit. There's a whole different world we do not see that have sprites, faeries ,nymphs and things like that some say, so it makes total.sense that "where he comes from" could be any of the suggested ideas you had said really.
the girl story definitely did have some magical elements to it too. im so glad you enjoyed the story!
oh im so sorry to hear that, I cant imagine how you must be feeling. I hope you're doing okay
I'm so sorry for your loss, I'll keep you in my thoughts today. Wishing you healing and emotional strength, hang in there.
I have four young kids. When I lost my dog after 13 yrs I felt like I lost a child. Sorry for your loss buddy.
You have my deepest sympathy. Losing a loving companion is the worst, be it human or animal. Peace.
@@Darksomnium doing as well as i can be, thank you!! 🫂
This is one of the best stories I’ve ever heard in my life. A story of friendship, redemption, and hope. I hope to see more from this author, as I loved the trapped woman story, as well. I wish I could go to that magical world, myself.
This story is so wholesome. I'm so glad Harvey ended up being the good guy. I love stories about "monsters" who are sweet and gentle.
So incredibly powerful, like a modern fairy tale. Such an amazing exploration of friendship, abusive relationships, regret, balance.
Another excellent story!! Oh how blessed we are for getting to enjoy these wonderful stories!! I love this channel so much!!! Thank you!!!!❤❤❤❤
I've been binge listening to your stories; but this one hit home and made me cry.
Wow ty so much!
Part 2 please when they meet again and enjoy what a friendship can truly be. ^-^
I love these stories.
I think this is my favorite one so far. It was the perfect blend of reality and the supernatural!
Same!
Can you do more of this authors stories, and organize them into a playlist since they all take place in the same universe? This one was really good.
Wow this was fantastic. You have an incredible knack for picking great stories, Ronnie
Thanks for listening
As someone so gracefully stated, you know it's going to be a good day when dark somnium drops a new vid. This was had me actively intrigued, and it turned out to be a pretty wholesome story imo so that was also a pleasant surprise. Another great vid and another reason why I love this chanel so much. Can't wait to hear more stories from this author
That was a very sad story and your narration and music made it even sadder. It was awesome! Thank you and hope you have a fabulous week!🤗💜🕷
Some kind of nature spirit, maybe. Story had a somber and sad feel to me. I'm suprised and glad Harvey was still willing to be MC's friend after that.
Love you brother. Thank you for being there for me and all the immense and beautiful hard work you’ve done over the years. I always say it but you know I’ll never stop ! ❤
Nothing could have prepared me for this beautiful emotional rollercoaster of a story omg
I want to know how Harvey got trapped in that circle in the first place
You and me both
Exactly what I was thinking, things like that are trapped or captured for a reason
@Hiikey. he must have done something in his world. But he seems to have been rehabilitated.
Somehow, this channel hits just every time. There hasn't been a bad story great work man!
This was easily one of THE best stories I’ve ever heard, from the story itself to the narration and execution + special effects during the story, and I’ve been listening to internet stories for YEARS now, like geez, 7 years now. This is up there, there’s no list I have written out or pre-made in my mind but if there was this would have to at least be in the top 3
Great job
This was an amazing experience. The ambiance and atmosphere you provided made it so worth the listen. Bravo 👏🏾 ❤
This was great, I absolutely love stories where the monster turns out to be more friendly than expected.
Man, I loved this! Such a good story! Thanks for putting these out! It's always a pleasure to listen to 😊
This story was a banger, got me to feel good at the end, gave me a sense of completeness after listening to it, stories should be like this, whether it's morbidly horrifying, with implications of a gruesome death or a nightmarish future, or it can even be as simple as two friends hugging it out, promising that they'll see each other gain.
Stories should give a full 360, a beginning and an end.
This story was absolute kino. I really loved how the author and you the narrator captured that feeling in the basement when he was a kid. Both the fear of if Harvey actually was a monster and the guilt of leaving him if he wasn't.
Hi Ron! I don’t know how u have it in you to pump out such high quality narrations as quickly as you do😂, you’re work ethic is truly admirable
thank you! :)
This story is amazing, i was waiting for the monster to do something evil and was not expecting such a wholesome ending ❤
oh, i absolutely love this.
Perfectly narrated, and a fantastic story. Thank you so much for these, they make my day!
Dude your story choices and the way you tell them are absolutely epic. Yes please read more from this author 🙏 👌
That was a great movie. Didn't get the attention it deserved.
This was WAY more full of emotion than I was expecting…damn Dark you made me cry. That hasn’t happened in a good while, thanks for the amazing narration
My man, I don't know how, but you always manage to pick the best stories and narrate them brilliantly
My biggest question about this story is still why Harvey was trapped to begin with, who did it and how
Harvey just seems like a real standup guy
Agreed. Man they pissed me off lol
690k subscribers and 95k views 2days I think you are becoming part of the 1 percenters great job growing fast. Dark Somnium and friends stay well try to be safe. 2023 hope the algorithm is correct good day. 8/00/2023
Spoiler!!!
“You were never worth speaking to.”
DAMN THAT LINE IS SO GOOD!!!!
A new video at 12 AM , perfect. Greetings from Beijing.
Morning! or goodnight haha
