I dont know if anyone will respond to this comment but I’m looking for a story that I think the dark Somnium narrated. It was within a collection of other stories. It’s about a man hearing about two girls that went missing in a jungle, he goes to investigate. The locals told him not to enter the Forrest but he did so anyways. He came to the realisation some paranormal stuff was happening and try to flee only for the ghost of the girls (I think) tormenting him. He was trapped in there for a while until he somehow escaped. The last part ended with him understanding the Forrest was eating him.
I love that the protagonist never actually wanted to go inside the bunker, but instead was forced to by outside events-forced to initially go inside for the dog, and forced to go in deeper to find supplies to get out. It felt much more reasonable than “I’m going to ignore my sense of safety and investigate this horrid place”
I agree fully, it felt a lot more natural. Don’t get me wrong, Ronnie could narrate a terrible creepypasta and I’d still listen because he would make it good, but man, the amount of stories that start off with the protagonist being too curious for their own good is tiresome sometimes. This felt natural because I would be willing to jump into hell to get my dog back, and I think a lot of others would too.
@@rohverr I agreed until your last part, curiosity in humans is definitely stronger than the love for animals as shown by all the stories they share Humans explore abandoned buildings all the time purely for the curiosity despite it being extremely dangerous but not many humans are risking their lives for their their loved ones so I gotta disagree, you don't know how you'll act in full survival mode
@@pequenaesposa3286 Hmm, this is a fair point. That's why I also said "a lot of others" rather than "the majority" or "all" because what you're saying is correct. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of exploring abandoned places, but certain creepypastas take this a bit too far imo. Like, I don't think it would be that realistic for anyone to explore a secret underground bunker that belonged to a family that perished and the police lied and said they were able to close it up/destroy it. 😭😭😭
My God he was praying for his family- begging whatever held them- to let them go. His repetition of those 3 words was terrifying and beyond desperate. Daniel was a good man, who truly loved his family. And yet there was nothing he could do. He didn’t care about himself- he was pleading they be set free. Whoever you are, Dark Somnium, your voice is a story. By far the best narrator I’ve heard in my 50 years. Absolutely gripping. Thank you.
@@snowframe2995 the person who's pov were hearing (ill call them op) hears daniels voice in the radio saying let them go right? Daniel is the real mvp for withstanding the horror for so long and so sturdy, for keeping his rotting, and withering family in one piece, while they remained concious and lastly, for saving the protagonist, this one has huge potential for a part 2 where the protagonist follows the order of the radio´s voice and goes back and releases the family from their pain.
Actually, a Part 2 providing closure for the family, and giving us backstory on what the monster actually is, is much needed. The ending was fine, bittersweet, but it has room for potential, hopefully the author takes advantage of.
To me, one of the most interesting parts was when Daniel pulled OP out and essentially saved him. Imagine seeing your rotten family being tormented for years by an unimaginably horrifying monster and still retaining your humanity, morality and selflessness. To me it proves that Daniel had a very strong character as I would imagine most people in his situation would be consumed by the anger and desperation and would pull other people in to suffer with them as a means to "share" the suffering in a desperate attemt of alleviating their own...Just a great story and great narration by The Dark Somnium as always.

I love the imagery and description of the bunker, it’s detailed without being overly intricate or ranty. I like how it was still scary without some kind of horrific, gory ending where everyone dies. My favorite part, though, was the concept of true evil. Something that didn’t need a reason to torture them. What a terrifying concept! It had a clean resolution and a straightforward plot. When I was sick with Covid (it wasn’t too bad, I didn’t need to go to the hospital), I spent the week and a few days listening to The Dark Somnium and being lulled to sleep by every story I clicked on on this channel.
I'm commenting purely out of hope that you read this. Your skill is unmatched and incredibly immersive, you are my absolute favorite. I've almost become desensitized to creepypastas, it has to be super creepy/disturbing to get to me. This one got to me, great job
I watched this one after waking up at 4 in the morning, extremely tired. This was most likely (definitely) the most horrifying story I've ever heard. You can't even imagine how scared I was, glancing around my whole room the whole time. Amazing work!
Just going through your 'Popular' videos, took a gamble between this and another one to fall asleep to. When I tell you, no sleep was had, only spine chills and hiding my head under the covers. This story and the one with the dead astronaut trying to get inside are at war for 1st place. Your work remains phenomenal.

Ripley is the best doggo and that is exactly what a best pup would do! So glad I finally got around to listening to this one, I wonder if there will be anymore about this "opportunistic" monster in the shadows.
You just keep getting better, brother! This was a great story!! Another strong point of yours!!! Thank you so much!! So good to have you back!!! Your little insomniac!!
God in Heaven this is eerie, heart breaking, horrifying, and yet it has familial love and humanity in it too. It's a masterpiece Edit He said it sounded like a spider. I remember a long time ago hearing about a Spider Demon from the Seneca stories called a Djieiene. And what most interested me about this monster was that it would remove its heart from its body to be immune to death. So it would fight with Seneca warriors and get fatal wounds but not die. But then it would dig up its heart and put it back and be instantly healed. Sort of like Voldemort and the Horecruxes only it's soul was inside its heart and not in an object. But a hero named Othegwenhda figured this out. And when the Djieien took its heart out, he started stabbing the ground with a spear until he pierced the heart and killed it. I wonder if this creature is a Djieien as well.
this is honestly one of the best stories youve done in a while, for my personal tastes!! and you did excellent with the bgm & ambience. more like this pleeease i think youd do a great rendition of Michael Kelso's "I'm trapped in a blizzard, I think something's haunting me"

The fact the creature was hurt and injured by dog bite means it's corporeal and subject to physical injury. As a great man once said "If it bleeds we can kill it". Not sure why several armed men would run and initiate a cover up, or be so scared to not at least do a better job with the bunker entrance.

Right before the last “Let them go” was spoken the cooler fans shut off leaving me in an eerily silent empty cooler with the hairs on the back of my neck standing up.
Great story, narrations and vocals. Can’t wait for the next story. ❤️
spooky :O im glad you liked the story!
Is your local food bank haunted? XD
If it is haunted leave now no one deserves the fate of the family being trapped down there with no escape and no end so if you see a giant hand even a shadow leave immediately it may just save your life (the end sound track plays) dum bum
[Lo-Fai AI]: Your experience listening to this story while working in the cooler sounds truly chilling! 😂😂
@@taylermuilenburg5029 the building that I’m in is only a year old but every now and then when I open the building in the kitchen I feel like I hear someone working moving things on the other side of the kitchen, I tend to ignore it and just get started on my daily work routine
I dont like horror nor jumpscares, but couldnt help to appreciate the dog being the one to scare the human after the video. Liked the vid and a good day back at you!
glad you enjoyed it!
I am excited to listen to this tale of finding a prepper family bunker that definitely will have a happy ending. Nothing will go wrong, surely.
All the cats and dolphins lived ❤
Wow. Just wow.
My only complaint is that I'll never again be able to experience this story as told by you for the first time again.
It is a masterpiece. I need to find more from this author.
thank you so much :)
Put this on to help fall asleep and stayed up till 2am with my heart pounding. You never fail to disappoint.
I absolutely love stories where the main character is finding traces of people who have been long gone. The mysterious vibe it gives off is priceless…
That was fantastic. It's very rare that one of these youtube horror story narrators has me captivated and on the edge of my seat with a story. But this one did. So. Very. Awesome.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I absolutely love your channel. Between shifts, in the middle of class, about to go to bed. No matter where, when I get that notification that you have posted I plug myself some noise canceling headphones and I enjoy every word narration, piano note, and sound effect. From the bottom of my heart thank you for what you do!
So well put- that’s exactly how I feel too!
I love that these stories can destract me from all the things that keep me up all night all the emotional pain I have acquired it's such a great relief to actually be able to stop and finally sleep ❤️
I am enamoured by your work. I don't know another channel that puts half the amount of work you do into bringing these videos to life and making the stories feel real. Thank you for your amazing videos and dedication.
Genuinely one of the most gut wrenching horror stories I've ever in a long time, man what a beautifully and horrifyingly crafted story
Damn I absolutely love this channel. The vibrations are immaculate, sound effects are through the roof, and honestly just a nice voice to listen to.
I get chills every time I hear the music drop at the end of each one and I'm never left disappointed.
Thank you for doing what you do.
The ending literally gave me goosebumps man.
As always top quality content ❤
GAWD DAYM! You cannot do me like that my man. I am sitting here shaking like a little boy after a scary story and probably gonna have to whip out my nightlight for tonight too! This was probably The, scariest story, ive heard from you to this day. Great job at the visualization of everything, just imagining the position the MC has been put in shook me to my fucking core. As always a perfect story with a perfect narration, sound effects, vibes, music, EVERYTHING. This has to be one of your greatest works (my opinion)!
Thank you as always, glad to have you man. Till next time.
This story sounds like it's gonna be amazing. It makes my day every time I see that you posted
Honestly this is now one of if not my favorite abandoned buildings stories, a lot of that is thanks to your narration and I thank you for all your consistently amazing work. Great story again!
both the narration and the author were absolutely great - some of the best scene setting i’ve come across when he first enters the quarters
Thank you bruddaaa! Im sick as hell today and this is just what I needed. Keep up the hard work bossman!
i hope you feel better soon jonathan!
Bro same. Sick and tucked in bed. Somnium's voice is the only thing that can put me to sleep lol
When I was sick with Covid (it wasn’t too bad, I didn’t need to go to the hospital), I spent the week and a few days listening to The Dark Somnium and being lulled to sleep by every story I clicked on on this channel.
Seeing a new video from you always makes my day better! Have a good day/night man!
Thanks! You too!
I'm commenting purely out of hope that you read this. Your skill is unmatched and incredibly immersive, you are my absolute favorite. I've almost become desensitized to creepypastas, it has to be super creepy/disturbing to get to me. This one got to me, great job
Thank you so much Taylor:)
I watched this one after waking up at 4 in the morning, extremely tired.
This was most likely (definitely) the most horrifying story I've ever heard. You can't even imagine how scared I was, glancing around my whole room the whole time.
Amazing work!
Right?! I'm watching this before bed and I'm completely wired now, my heart is pounding!
You Mr Somnium are a Treasure. Thanks for another awesome narration and making the work day better
Thank you kindly
There's not many stories that genuinely creep me out and leave me on edge, but this story did just that and great the narration and sound design made it so much better.
I want to thank you for giving me something to listen to when I'm designing characters. Your stories always remind me that everyone has problems and it honestly helps me give my characters personalities instead of making Mary Sues. So thank you, you've helped me a lot with this hobby of mine. I've started a business and I'm making money, but I honestly think you should get some credit. Thank you
oh my god i read the original story from the author a couple of hours after it came out, and i was thinking how cool it would be if you covered it while i was reading it!!! honestly today couldn't get any better, thank you for all that you do!!
Thats awesome! I hope you like my narration of this :)
@The Dark Somnium its honestly everything i could've imagined and more, you are so talented
Normally I like to fall asleep to these stories but now I need to go watch something to take my mind off this amazing narration and great writing by the author
That was a great story and as always you killed it with your narration. Keep up the excellent work my friend.
thanks cary!
Absolutely phenomenal. Such great work with the frequent uploads the quality hasn’t dropped one bit. You really are so great at what you do. Finding your channel was one of my finest days.
Thank you so much
I haven’t been creeped out in a very long time and this story/ narration gave me that chill factor. Great narration.
i read prepper as "pepper" as was so confused through the whole audio waiting for peppers to come into play 🤣🤣🤣
haha xD
Ok this has been one of the best stories I’ve heard in a while, had me absolutely gripped from beginning to end. Ripley is best boy, deserves all the headpats
This was sooo good and the sound effects perfect!! Excellent narration as always.
Hey, I just wanted to voice my appreciation for the amazing work you do! Your vocal performance, music, sound effects, and editing are all fantastic and do an incredible job at drawing me into the stories and keeping me engaged all the way through! Thank you!
Thank you :)
This was the best one yet! The narration was amazing. I jumped while driving when Daniel yelled “get out!”. Thank you for this amazing channel!! My 20 year old daughter is now a fan of yours too!
Another great reading! So glad I got into watching/listening to creepypastas, you're narrations also being the reason why I started in the first place, fantastic job, and I can't wait for your next one!
Another wonderful story! I honestly come here not only for the music but because the stories you pick out tend to be the ones who feel the most... thrilling? Eldritch? I dunno but your choice of stories really tickles my fancy, keep up the great work!
Absolutely terrifying! All the tense moments got me holding my breath. Putting this at the top of disgusting/horryifying/disturbing creepypasta along with the one about the mushroom spore that made a settlement go mad.
This story had me on the edge of my seat. I had selected it to listen to while I knitted. My knitting became faster and faster til the end 😅. Excellent narration. Thank you.
Your channel is so often the only one that has stories that actually scare me! I’ve got 30 years of horror under my belt so I’m tough to spook but this one was genuinely scary. I’ve said before but your incredible talent with sound design is a huge reason I was gripped from beginning to end!
This story was perfect! Everything from the atmosphere, the plot and the creature was flawless. Amazing Lovecraftian horror.
God in Heaven this is eerie, heart breaking, horrifying, and yet it has familial love and humanity in it too. It's a masterpiece
Edit
He said it sounded like a spider.
The narration is fantastic, like always, thanks for blessing us with your art
My partner literally can't fall asleep without listening to your videos. I can't stress it enough how much they love your narrations.
I'm glad the videos can help :)
I got the true classic ad before the video played and i have never been more satisfied by the quick switch up between ad and video
The corpses got me super scared at first 😂😂😅. This is exactly what I love tho, thank you SO much for reading us this Story!! ❤
This is the second story I've checked out. They are done so well. I'm very much looking forward to more of them. Great job.
A bunker creep story, umm yes please I already know this is gonna be a banger! Thanks dude!
Tyty :)
This would be a great horror movie. Not some over the top jump scare bs, but an actual real good horror story.
this is honestly one of the best stories youve done in a while, for my personal tastes!! and you did excellent with the bgm & ambience. more like this pleeease
i think youd do a great rendition of Michael Kelso's "I'm trapped in a blizzard, I think something's haunting me"
Another absolutely phenomenal narration. When I started listening to creepypasta narrations, you were one of the first RUclipsrs I got interested in. So I just got to say, thank you so so much. I applaud you, good sir, keep up the amazing work ✌️
This actually REALLY creeped me out. Excellent job as usual ❤ love all your narrations but THIS one for some reason really got to me, I think it was fear for the dogs safety 😅
Thank you so much!
Magnificent, please more stories like this are much needed. Some place or plain with unrivaled horrors in our own backyards.
Hi, this is the first time I've visited your channel and the narration and sound design was amazing. Looking forward to listening to your backlog! ❤
Wow! Love the story and the narrator! Thank you
Hey dude, I absolutely love your content and I've been listened to you for a few years now, been through pretty much every vid lol, keep up the good work
I appreciate that!
@@Darksomnium I've been wanting to write my own stories for quite some time, I'm wondering how much it would cost for one of them to appear on your channel?
That sent chills down my spine, great work!
holy crap this made me cry a lot, ahhh. so scary !!! you narrate so beautifully, keeping the listener right at the edge of their seat.
but the end when the doggy saved him, that was so sweet ❤ i feel so sad for that family, fictional or not this story was so heartbreaking
I just want to say wow, this story is brilliant I haven't felt this nervous while listening to a horror story in years, brilliant writing and brilliant voice acting, sent a shiver down my spine
I usually fall asleep to creepypasta narrations but this one was so good i couldn't
I remember, one night I couldn't sleep. I spent that night listening to the entire Left/Right Game series... Best way to spend my random short bursts of insomnia.
@@7Crowe7 that series is so good, i understand you. That one and my friend has been living in an alternate reality are probably my favorites
this is one of the best stories i’ve heard on this channel, absolutely horrifying
Really good video to listen while going to sleep ❤ keep up the good content
sweet dreams!
This is the best creepypasta ever made. And i have watched thousands, sometimes one a night every night!
This gave me literal chills
Nightmare fighting tournament
A story that finally gave me a little sense of fright I used to have all the time :)
The fact the creature was hurt and injured by dog bite means it's corporeal and subject to physical injury. As a great man once said "If it bleeds we can kill it". Not sure why several armed men would run and initiate a cover up, or be so scared to not at least do a better job with the bunker entrance.
Thank you so much dark Somnium for trying as hard as you do to bring us fresh, and amazing content, your videos always brightens my days! Have a great day!
Glad you enjoy it! and yhou have a good day too :)
I've been listening to radio plays since I was 5 or so. The BBC on Radio New Zealand while my dad fixed our Morris Minor Van. I've heard all of the creepy pasta channels that have crossed my algorithm and with all due respect to them- they are all wonderful, this is my favorite. Thank you for your efforts
Keep churning out the good work mane. Had shoulder surgery so.. I’m not listening to you at work but while on the mend. So it’s been a Somnium binge fest
oh dang i hope your recovery is going well ben!
Thanks man! Slow and steady healing process but going well!
I only just got around to watching this but holy hell. This has got to be one of my favorite stories you've ever narrated. I'm genuinely hoping we get a part 2 that you can read, cause Daniel still has his mind, and whatever it is that lurks below, it can bleed. And if it can bleed, you can kill it.
Another amazing story! And another perfect narration!!! Great work! On of my recent favorites! I wish we could get more like this! And like the lost city of korona, and the government oil rig one! The 1 hour to hour and a half stories are my favorite! Or the ones with multiple instalments with 2 main characters like the hidden tunnels one you did with the female narrator! I loved those ones lol! Sorry for the long comment! Just wanted to quickly say I loved this story and love your work 😂
Thanks for sharing the stories you like! Korona is definitly in my top 10, ill keep an eye out for more stories like this :)
@@Darksomnium thanks man! You will always be my favorite narrator! It's rare to find someone with amazing music! A great voice! And is well involved with his fans! Keep up the great work!
