I think the hat will be passed on either by Luffy himself or it blows in the wind and lands in front of a child, mainly the next one to become King/Queen of the pirates. But, they could do something unexpected like the next one to wear the hat, thrives to become the greatest Marine ever. A marine who truly fights for justice and protects the weak, which would also be cool to see.

Somerandom I doubt that, actually. Luffy is the protagonist, and obviously the one that will bring the Will of D to some kind of conclusion. That said, I believe that at the end of the story, the Will of D isn't about one specific goal, but a goal of personal freedom above all else. He'll very likely pass it (and the straw hat) along to someone else. My bet is on Koby. He was the first person we ever saw in the show, before even Luffy. We don't know Koby's full name. Hell, we only just learned it's spelled with a *K!*

I really think that Shanks will die in the end of One Piece because he somehow safes Luffy, shortly before Luffy becomes king of the pirates.
I can see it right in front of me how Luffy gives the straw hat back by laying it on Shanks head in his grave.
Slayer666th My theory was that the marines decide to send their entire forces to take him down after Big Mom and Kaido are dead then after the fight Shanks is too weak to face Blackbeard who then kills him and his entire crew .

No, even the Yonko wouldn‘t die in One Piece. So far the confirmed deaths had a huge impact on Luffy and only served the story by changing something radically.
And right now I am not 100% convinced that Pedro really is dead since Muscato is alive again because he got his lifespan back, so maybe Pedro could get his 50 years back too. I really hope that’s not the case but it‘s a possiblity.

There is an asian fable about two brothers who are each told to break a single straw by their dying, displeased father. They were infamous for their bad relationship. They did it easily. Then, they were told to put them together to try again. It was a little harder. As they kept adding layers, the straw became unbreakable and they learnt about the importance of cooperation. A single straw was vulnerable but when there were more, it was harder to break. Also, the straw hat is an extremely simple object, so perhaps it represents the Straw Hats' intrinsic simplicity. I hope this provides insight.

Oda came out and said that the One Piece WILL contain treasure and stuff along those lines. However the question is what ELSE does the One Piece hold.
the One piece is something everyone who knows what it is dose not care about it so the best bit in Rogers mind being a swimsuit trophy from a one night stand he had with Nico Olvia as he stole her Onepiece and it is an inside joke for Roger's friends hence everyone who knows what it is dose not want it

Weird that Buggy doesn't identify the hat as belonging to Roger. We have to assume Shanks met Roger and got the hat sometime long before meeting Buggy.

Roger didn't have to have met shanks too long before buggy. Just at some point before and had to have passed it on to shanks. There's no way to know how long before though.

I always thought that the one piece isn't a treasure in the sense of gold and diamonds but more of a personal treasure like the jolly roger of the oro jackson or perhaps a picture of rouge. That's why buggy, shanks or rayleigh never went after it.
Yeah think so too but then right now another thought came up: maybe (dunno I don't think it's THE one piece but part of it) the Rio porneglyph is part of the one piece itself. Maybe it tells its location. What if the actual one piece is something that happened or had been made in the void century. Maybe the Rio porneglyph says something about the other dreams too duno.. It's more then that. Shanks obviously saw something in Luffy. And he was right, guys gonna be the next pirate king! Just like Roger saw something in Shanks, and he was right, guy became a Yonko!
I don't think its a magical hat, obviously, but i do think it's like a marker. Think how many strong important people comment on it as reminding them of Roger or Shanks. It says, "Hey, pay attention to this guy!"..
Or, at the very very least, it's a metaphorical symbolism of passing on one's will.

But Shanks had a very clear relationship with luffy. It's hard to believe Roger had a long relationship with Shanks if he was still just a cabin boy on his ship.
I'm sure we'll receive multiple flashbacks when we get to where luffy finally meets with him. Then we might get an explanation but you're right, it may not be anything lol oda is unpredictable nowadays.

It would be a lot more poetic if Roger made the hat, but if would be WAY more Human for him to just find it in a random store one day and say, huh, I like this, and buy it. Maybe there’s even a crazy story to him buying it, like he was dirt poor and couldn’t even afford it, and then had to do something for it. I would like that a lot more

Just noticed how weird it is that Shanks is known as "Red Haired Shanks" even though he's had the Straw Hat since he was a Cabin boy and became an infamous pirate. Since the Straw Hat mostly covers his hair why wasn't Shanks known as Straw Hat Shanks? No one even seems to Assosicate the hat luffy wears to Shanks unless they were part of the same crew
Maybe because there's rarely anybody else with his signature red hair. And it's kinda like Zoro, he puts on the green bandana to wipe the floor with people but he isn't known for wearing it

Yeah but unlike the rest of Luffy's clothing the hat has never stretched or acted like rubber. Also it wasn't on Luffy's head when he got blasted twice so only the string would have rubber like qualities and even then that string has never been shown to act like Luffy's rubber body.
At least not from what I can recall at this moment.

The hat probably represents a sign/signal. Remember the secret gigantic hat at Marie Joe? Maybe it's a sign saying "the time for change is coming". And when the bearer of the hat has managed to accomplish something, or maybe even solve the mystery, something in Marie Joe will be activated in response to that.
Tekking this hat looks like something a good mom would give to his loved son after he says he would leave his home to travel the sea in a boat. Like, you don't have trees in the sea you need something to protect your face and eyes from the sun.

I once saw a comic online in which Luffy is giving the hat back to Shanks and while he'd taking it Luffy pulls it back and they start fighting over it and saying "I already miss it" and Shanks says "I missed it a long time ago" I just thought that was hillarious.
