Although my cold process soap making tutorials are of a tutorial nature, they are intended for people who have a good understanding of making cold process soap. The information given is based on what works for me, however, there are lots of variables associated with cold process soap making and I, therefore, take no responsibility for the results achieved when using the techniques or methods explained in these tutorials. Cold process soap involves the necessary use of sodium Hydroxide (lye) which is a very dangerous substance. Before attempting and cold process soap making you should ensure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures and always wear the correct safety equipment when making soap.

These swirls are goreous❣
Thank you so much Ellen, hey, surely it's time for you to have a go at a soap challenge, a lady of your soapy skills, why not have a go at some point :-)
I think this is a really pretty soap. I really enjoy you're videos. They are very informative and fun to watch all at the same time
Thank you so much!
Black plum and rhubarb is another of my favourites! This technique is magical! So beautiful!
Always so lovely to see you. Thank you so much :-)
Ah these look like fairies soaps, Lisa! Such beautiful colours in both of them, I love the ones you are using for the challenge, great technique and amazing end result. So enjoyable to watch your videos, thank you for sharing🙏❤️
Glad you like them, thank you Mag
Both quite beautiful, but the swirls in the second are spectacular.
Yes, a pleasant surprise.
I missed your youtube so much. thanks for your video's
Ooh have you been away? So pleased you like the soaps
They are stunning, Lisa! Love your color palette, smooth ombre and beautiful swirls! Congratulations on the 3rd place, and you've got my vote! ❤🥰
Thank you so much, and thank you for your vote
Both ended up looking different but both are very attractive. Amazing how much difference the soap's viscosity can make. Thanks for another very entertaining video.
Hi @reneehebert6986 thank you so much for your very kind comment, yes the thickness of the batter plays a huge part in soap designs
Well, I have to say that I really appreciate you! I like your style of teaching, the way you put your videos together, the music, and of course your soaps are always made to perfection! Thank you Lisa! ❤ Oh yeah, is it too much to say I want to be like you when I grow up?! LOL ....no seriously! 😊 Hope you have a great week!
AW that's lovely to hear, thank you so much @melissapeterson4202, and thank you for taking the time to leave another comment for me 😊
sooo lovely!! I voted for this one before I knew you made it (I try to vote blind and not be biased LOL) I think the colors on your second soap are just perfect! 🥰 the swirl really turned out beautiful too.
Thanks so much Tammy
I watched BOTH of your videos on this pour this morning. 😊
I might try this AFTER our “Project Soapway” challenge w/Mrs. Soap & Clay. 😁
That aqua blue is truly beautiful my favorite color too!!!! This came out amazingly beautiful as always!!!!
Thank you so much!!
That turquoise is such a nice colour! I tried this pour yesterday and it was sure a challenge! Your pink/purple soaps are amazing! ❤
Thanks so much 😊
Absolutely stunning! Love both of these soaps and the music!
Thank you so much!
I like the combination of the ombre and hangar swirl techniques. You did such a nice job with the ombre that I would be afraid to take the hangar to it. The first soap came out beautifully and I really like the color combo. Then you gave us a bonus prize and made yet another fabulous soap with another great color combination. I don't know which I like better. Thank you.
Thank you so much, always so lovely to see you.
That first batch looks like a Hubble Space Telescope photo of a nebula to me. So cool!
Ooh yes, I can see that
@@IDreamInSoap Hubble Swirl invented. Tadaaaa! :D
Absolutely beautiful soap!! The colors😍This is one of my favorite designs!
Thank you so much!
Both are wonderful! The colors matches perfectly and the technic is great. Thank you Lisa for sharing!
Kind regards from Austria 🥰
Thank you so much!
You’re amazing. I binge on your videos and I love all the soaps I’ve purchased from you so far. Thank you for your videos, truly makes me happy to watch
Thank you so much for your support. It means so much
Gorgeous! Both of them! I love your color choices. I love this technique and tried it a few months ago based on Christina’s videos. Didn’t come out quite right because the batter got thick. But I tried it again last night and it worked! I’m so excited to see other soapers’ take on the technique!
That's so kind of you to say @risal4323, thank you so much, yes it is a lovely techniques isn't it 😊
The first one looks like the sun shining through dark clouds! Love it!
Ooh, yes, I can see that, thank you 😊
Beautiful soaps as always Lisa. Great colour combination!
I gifted your soaps to 3 of my friends in the UK (I'm in India) and they LOVED them. ❤😊
I'm so pleased they liked them, thank you so much
Hi, Lisa! These are beautiful indeed, a must try technique! Looking forward to you starting up your Patreon again :)
Hi @melbrown941 thank you so much for your very kind comment, ooh yes, do give it a go😊
Love your soap, as always, you take it to the next level, an amazing combination of colors.
Thank you so much Paty, I hope you are keeping well
I loved 🥰
Wow! Both of the colourways are gorgeous! Such a stunning design, so lovely. 😍
Thanks so much 😊
That looks so pretty!! 😃
That's so kind of you to say @starling5188, thank you so much 😊
A very nice affect!! I hope you don't mind if I try that one, its a stunning affect!
Cheers 👍🤗
Hey Cheryl, always lovely to see you. OOh yes do give it a go, make sure you have a fragrance oil that stays really fluid
This is beautiful❣️❣️❣️
Thank you so much @dianehedricks7860, that's very kind of you.
Beautiful 🤩
Thank you so much @MaggieG726, that's very kind of you.
Congratulations on the win ♥ The soap is beautiful and so is the video🤩😍
Thank you so much!
This is so pretty! You have inspired me to try this design.
Thank you so much, ooh yes I do hope you give it a try
As always Lisa, beautiful soap! ❤
When I saw this technique on Luna & The Leaf’s YT page, it inspired some color choices on a few of my bars. 😊
Thanks so much 💛
These are beautiful Lisa! Thank you for trying my technique!!! I’m literally over the moon about it and the gorgeous soaps you made💕
Hey Christina. Thank you so much for sharing the technique it is really going to be something I continue to do going forward
You make such beautiful soap! The first one was very pretty, the second one was absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you so much!
I really like the color combinations of both bars. Excellent demonstration of this mesmerizing technique!
Thanks so much!
This is so so beautiful, i really love it!!
By the way: nice musik this time as well
That's so kind of you to say @jonaclausson6698, thank you so much and so pleased the music was better😊
The 2nd soaps give me major 90s vibes. I don't know why. But considering the 80s and 90s were my favourite decades, there's nothing wrong about that.
Ooh yes. I can see that
Well, that was a ride of discomfort. I sat here watching you make the soap, with the thumbnail in the top right corner looking at me resplendent in purples and pinks… and I just couldn't see how your colours would transform into the beauty I was getting a sneak peek at.
I decided, that despite watching your initial video about making and numbering colour swatches - that I might need ‘soap colour theory 102’. 🤣 I am so glad everything became crystal clear at the end. I will say now that I loved all the bars in this video. They were all beautiful. Great entry for the soap challenge I am sure!
As I sat here watching you ombre and deal with colours I found my thoughts reverting to a question I can't answer… but I suspect you can. It's been chugging around my brain since you did ‘soap on a rope’ and has become a more complex question over time… I can't quite pin it down… but I think today is the day the question comes out (whatever form it takes…) as it has been living rent-free for a long long time!
I am aware there are numerous ways to colour your soaps… pigment colours, micas, and lakes come to mind. I don't entirely understand how these are different but I suspect it's way deeper than my brain has fathomed. I have certainly seen colourbleed in melt and pour soap… which got me wondering about the possibility of a natural ombre in a cold process soap! Is it possible to have an ombre affect by pouring two layers of soap and science doing the rest!? (Not your beautiful and time consuming blending method - which I believe gives me the answer I need.) But, a big part of me wonders if soaps of a different temperature, different superfat quantity, recipes, colourant type, density… can be used to mimic the ombre process ‘naturally’ (albeit not so drastic.)
Not the most eloquent turn of phrase here, but I'm sure it's understandable.
Now most people are fed up of this post, I can ask the secondary spoiler question… did you use the same fragrance on the remake or switch it to a floral… like the new colour scheme hints at?
Hey Johanna, goodness me, that's a long one :-). Some colours will bleed in cold process soap, but not many do. Micas and pigments tend not to. Soap itself tends to stay where it is once you stop moving it and colours won't migrate from one place to another. So for example, you can pour 2 colours of soap next to each other and unless they are very thin they will stay next to each other, only if they're thin or aided by some sort of tool will they merge, but in that way they would follow the path of the tool you have used, so unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately for us who like to control designs) a soap with two colours won't ombre itself.
@@IDreamInSoapoh Lisa, thank you! 😍
It's as I kind of thought… but… its so good to know for sure…. I can go to sleep and finally forget the thought experiment!❤
Lovely soap as always, Lisa! And the music!!! Who is that? I kept humming along in harmony, wishing I could leave town and go camping somewhere - far from here - out in nature where it's lovely and I don't have to think about this corporate world in which I am ensnared.
Hi Janie, thanks so much. Both songs were by Cody Francis, Weather any Storm, and Honey take my hand
This is absolutely beautiful
That's so kind of you to say @consuela3214, thank you so much 😊
Wonderful mam❤
Thanks so much 💛
Oh, Lisa, this has just been the most beautiful candy for the eyes!
😉👍
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you! 😊
I've seen yours Tammy's and a few others, there is going to be a fight with knuckle rings for the prize, everyone I've seen has done an excellent job.
There certainly were a lot of good ones. No surprise though as there are a lot of very talented people out there, which makes the Challenges fun and very challenging
@@IDreamInSoap I'm glad you still get enjoyment out of challenges. 😊I'm doubling down my money (son of mine says it's a poker term, whatever) I'm hoping for etsuko wantanabe for first prize, only because she used exactly 4 teaspoons each time to lighten her ombre 😂
Love how thorough you are when you share your recipes. Sadly, I could spend the whole day watching when I should be making soap!
See, now, you need a TV in your soap room so you can do both
I have one but the problem is tend to “stop and watch” so I don’t miss anything! This is your fault because you are such a good teacher. I don’t want to miss what you are saying! Miss your Patreon account by the way.
It never stops impressing me, how well you merge mathematical precision with artistic talent! Most people are only capable of one of those but you make using both seem effortless. - Isn't that always the mark of a master craftsman? I thouroughly agree with the choice to enter the sunset pink/purple one in the challenge. Both of those came out really nice, the second one was just a much better showcase of the Luna swirl because the ombre was kind of lost in the copper colour.
Have a lovely week❤
Thank you so much for your lovely comment
Those turned out so cool! I love the first one. It reminds me of sunlight breaking through dark clouds after a storm. 🥰
The second one is funky cool! I was thinking abstract flowers or butterflies. Chad said it looks like the cover of a prog-rock album. He's... kinda weird, I know. 🤣
Thank you so much Andi and Hi to Chad
Both were stunning…. Didn’t think it could get better than the first but yiu did. Wow wow wow. Just love it ❤l
Thank you so much, that's very kind of you.
So beautiful I’ve been watching this one I want to try it and then you do a video yay 😂
Ooh, I hope you do give it a go
我常在台灣看你做的肥皂,真漂亮
They’re so pretty, Lisa!
Thanks so much for your lovely comment 😘
Thank you! Your colors and design have inspired me.
I'm so glad!
Какая же красота!!!!❤
I think it’s gorgeous!!
Thank you so much, that's very kind of you. 😊
I really need to reformulate my soap base so i can play around with more techniques like this!
Possibly, but make sure you think about what's important to you, so don't make too many changes if you love how your recipe feels. My recipe is not what people would typically say is very slow moving, but the way I use it and how I blend, temperature etc mean that I can do a lot with it
@@IDreamInSoap I do love my recipe, it's rich and creamy but I made it when I was a newbie and hadn't thought about scaling up! I'm now trying to make 4 loaves at a time and it's a frantic race against the clock 🤣 I've played around with blending at different temperatures but it just seems to do what it wants when it wants no matter what I do! 2 years of soap making for me and still learning every day. I love it!
Beautiful- always love the music
Thanks so much Cindy
Say it out loud! I really appreciate that she doesn't do those terrible ukulele-whistle-synthesizer or tiktok tunes so many other people do. Lisa, your videos are really pleasant to watch and listen to. Sometimes, though, I wish we could smell them, too. So many scents you use sound absolutely delightful.
Beautiful!!
Thank you! 😊
The most well explained video for this swirl technique so far for me, thank you so much, l think I will give it a go, and if l make it, l 'll tag you!
I always enjoy watching your videos!
Glad you liked it. Good luck with yours! 😉
Thank you! ❤
You're welcome!
Beautiful❣️
Thank you! 😊
I never knew that some mica color can accelerate trace. Thanks for the tip! I thought it was only FO’s.
Yes they can. They don't have as much effect as mica but they can affect your trace
Love this look. My batter always seems to get to thick…. Working on it.
It is a tricky one if your batter thickens, but you dan still get a great design with a thicker batter
These soaps came out just lovely! I am going to try my luck with this technique! ALSO, I love the music that played! Who is that and how do I find an album or something as it is very soothing and relaxing music. Thank you for all your teaching and education you give us all!
Thank you so much. I hope you do give it a go
has a Japanese look in art. nice
Ooh yes I can see that, thanks so much 💛
Wonderful video, and gorgeous soap!
Lovely soaps! Thank you for sharing with us. Could you possibly name the artist and music you have used? I have heard them on other videos but nobody ever credits them and I have tried searching to no avail. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much, the music was Cody Francis. I think that people don't credit so much nowadays is that previously people used a lot of free music, but the rule for use was that you had to add an accreditation, whereas I think people use sites like Epidemic Sounds more now, which is what I do, they have good tracks but you have to pay to use the music, but because you've paid you can just add them to your videos. I guess it would be nice to still add accreditation but it adds another job to the already very lengthy job of making a video for RUclips
@@IDreamInSoap I really appreciate you letting me know! I am so sorry to have made you work more so I am very grateful. I love your videos. You are always so thoughtful about the process and you make THE most beautiful soaps on RUclips. I make soap myself and I have been watching soap videos for nearly a decade so please know that is a huge and heartfelt compliment. :)
Hey, no problem at all, I appreciate you watching and commenting@@lisa-m-jennings
想請問美麗的老師,做這種皂,水份都用幾倍的水,謝謝您
The temp you mentioned i guess the scale fahrenheid?
Yes, that's correct.
I have a question where did you get the soap cutter?
Custom Craft Tools.
They do moulds too.
😉😍
Tried my first Luna swirl tonight...epic FAIL!!! So friggin disappointed 😢
Oh no. That's a shame, you do need a super fluid batter
Dommage ont peu pas traduire en français
The colors really pop in these bars! Loved both so much!
Aw, thank you so much 💓
I really liked the first soap it was pretty but the second one was absolutely stunning. I will have a go at making something similar, thanks for the inspiration Lisa, beautiful soaps, as always.
Thanks for the feedback.
Good luck with your soaps! 😉👍
Beautiful😍
Thank you! 😊
