    I go out for hotpot all the time and always have to ask for more soup base. Needs to be spicier! I will try making it myself to make it as spicy as I want 😂

    Is water more typical than beef base for the spicy side in China?

      @@stevo-dx5rr it’s typical to use a tallow base in Sichuan and Chongqing but regular oil base is more common in other parts of China!

    My local chinese hotpot is so good .. i have been trying to copy it at home so i can eat hotpot more often but its not even close. My homemade version is not even close to the same flavor. Frying all the ingredients might be the diifference.

      @billyperry6567: It is tradition to not add salt to the hot pot base because that is the function of the dipping sauces.
