You should have seen me with the pokerman
I had no money and I bet a grand
Just in the nick of time I look at his hand
I was talking to an Eskimo
Said he was hoping for a fall of snow
When you popped a sealion ready to go
Let's go let's go let go let go
Down to junior's farm where I want to lay low
How life, high life, go let's go
Take me down to Junior's farm
    Take me down Jimmy
I took my bag into a grocer's store
The price is higher than the time before
Old man asked me why is it more
I said you should have seen me with the pokerman

FINALLY, YOU are the ONLY ones who have REACTED to "JUNIOR'S FARM"!!! One of my FAVORITE McCARTNEY songs. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REACT to more BEATLES" music and NOT just "covers." The REAL thing. Check out the BEATLES "OH DARLING," "HELTER SKELTER," "I'VE GOT A FEELING" "HERE COMES THE SUN," "COME TOGETHER." (Try "BAND ON THE RUN" Paul and Wings and do the VIDEO LIVE Concert from 1976) ALSO don't forget the BEATLES EARLY songs too, THOSE are the ones that we fans (ME included) FIRST heard here in the U.S. back in January 1964 and MADE them a SENSATION and "BEATLEMANIA" began. You CAN'T GO WRONG with ANY of their songs. They were VERSATILE and back then, we couldn't wait for their next single and Album to come out because we NEVER KNEW what they would do next! They were NEVER boring. They changed EVERTYTHING, Music, fashion, hairstyles, attitudes, culture...I LIVED through that period, I was 17 in 1964. I will be an IMMEDIATE SUBSCRIBER if you do. LOVE your energy!

Paul McCartney, say no more, is is just a case of how great will it be? Wings did some fantastic work and it has aged well, for another classic tune try Let Me Roll It, fantastic rocker from Band On the Run. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

to be clear to the reactors: This is Paul McCartney and Wings, this was released in fall of 1974. They did all kinds of music, not just rock. It took a while to get them up to speed when they were formed in late 1971 The lady on the keys, singing, is Paul's wife Linda, who passed away from cancer later in 1998. Lead guitarist, Jimmy McCulloch, died young from bad combo of alcohol and morphine. Denny Laine was faithful, [vocals guitar] and stayed with them until the end where as many only stayed a couple years Of course Linda McCartney stayed. For a long time after she died, Paul would put her equipment [keyboards onstage on a platform where she used to be, and light a candle, at every performance. I don;t know if he still does that. I'm sure he did that for his kids as well and not just himself.

Paul made wife Linda a full member of his band, although she was a photographer with no real musical experience. She learned keyboards, reportedly. They were married for 29 years, until her death from breast cancer in 1998. He wrote his best post-Beatles song, "Maybe I'm Amazed", with her in mind.

This version of Wings had Jimmy McCulloch as lead guitarist. He'd gained original fame as a 16.17 year old on the classic Pete Townshend produced Thunderclap Newman - Hollywood Dreams album. He had a lot of problems, and died young of an overdose.

When Wings formed in 1971 it was with Paul McCartney and his wife Linda, with Denny Laine (from the Moody Blues) and Denny Seiwell on drums. Soon after they took on Irishman Henry McCullough on lead guitar.
However when McCarntey decided in 1973 to go record in Nigeria, Seiwell and McCullogh left, leaving the core of the McCartneys and Laine.
In 1974 they recruited Jimmy McCulloch as lead guitarist and Geoff Britton on drums. McCulloch was formerly in Thunderclap Newman (where he joined as lead guitar aged only 15).

McCulloch and Britton (both in this clip) hated each other’s guts so Britton was removed and they got Joe English in on drums.
McCulloch wrote the Wings song “Medicine Jar” - a warning against dipping your hand in the medicine jar and taking drugs.

Some time in 1977 English and McCulloch would also leave. Again leaving the core of the McCartneys and Laine… who would put out the hit song “Mull of Kintyre”, and the album “London Town” before they recruited yet another lead guitarist and drummer; Laurence Juber, and Steve Holley,.
The band kind of fizzled away in 1980 when McCartney was arrested in Japan for trying to bring drugs into the country during their band’s tour.
Laine worked again with McCartney… the ‘core’ again appeared together as backing singers (along with Ringo Starr) on George Harrison’s tribute to John Lennon “All Those Years Ago” in 1981.
Jimmy McCulloch would die in 1979 aged only 26 of a drug overdose… having not paid heed to his own song.

Not many have reacted to this song by Macca, it tends to get over shadowed by his plethora of other quality songs, so great start. Wanna double your subscriber list, play more Beatles. Start with Helter Skleter, Yer Blues, Revolution, Dear Prudence, Oh Darling!, Come Together, Let it Be, While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
The Beatles were together for 8 years - and still are the greatest selling band of all time, this is how much you are missing out on that audience.

The property rights holders give people a notoriously hard time and yet you still see a fair amount of Beatles reactions. So it's a bit of work but really worth it. It is an incredible rabbit hole. And also all four of them had solo careers after that because they only broke up when they were in their late twenties and there was about a 4 year age difference within the band with George Harrison being the baby and John Lennon being the oldest.

    • @SeasonedAngel1
      @SeasonedAngel1 3 месяца назад

Ahhh, but John wasn't the oldest. He was born October 9, 1940, but Ringo was born July 7, 1940, so Ringo is the eldest of the four moptops.

@@chrisjamieson3452 Yeah you're right. Somehow I pictured it as being on the album.
Re. reading about BOTR on wiki, I couldn't understand some of the responses from the music press in the early days. They seemed luke warm to dismissive in the first few months of the album's existance.
Harder still to believe, was the collective opinion that PM was the ex Beatle least likely to succeed. Imo, PM stood tall, far above them all, even then. It just feels like they didn't like him, wanted to knock him down. He was making the great music, while the (critics) were on their asses, bitching and/or nitpicking at the material. Was there any bigger an asshole than someone who wrote for, say, Rolling Stone? (shrugs)
