comparing this from a video from 2 years ago, the progress is very significant all the stuff people mentioned in the comments of the old video have been fixed, very nicely done
I would recommend making the soft-body physics a little less springy, mainly cuz i noticed when they get crushed they bounce back into shape unrealistically.
This is really impressive stuff, how are you getting the mesh to tear is the entire thing fractured? If so how would this effect normals for shading purposes

what if for the frame and body of the car, soft body physics are used. but for the mechanical parts like the engine, transmission, etc. BCB is used. This would be a hybrid of different simulation techniques and could be interesting if the software allows it.

If you hadn't done so already I think you should definitely reach out to the guys behind BeamNG and see if you can share some experiences with them. I think they might even have some technical knowhow on how to bring this whole thing more into real-time rendering territory.

Basically the FIA does not want to see its cars get crushed, torn to pieces or otherwise destroyed, despite the fact that such things do happen in reality from time to time. Anyway, if you wish to make an F1 game with real cars, drivers and championships you'll have to play by their rules.
