No way i binge watched so many of these kind of video's when i was hyped and starved for beamng content. This one really stuck with me. Grand to see it remastered.
Although BeamNG is overall more realistic, this has the one thing that BeamNG is lacking... the ability for every part to break into many separate parts. I get that this is a rendering, and BeamNG is real time, but I feel like they could have parts break into at least 2 or 3 pieces.
they’re slowly figuring it out. i remember when wheels were attached to the vehicle no matter what, the body couldn’t come off. it used to be all attached. now all that stuff happens and with the new bolide it breaks the frame in three pieces.
Considering this is an animation, for beamng to simulate all those parts it would be a pain in the ass. Thats why automation mods run worse on low end pc's.
Actually it is possible to have that in beamng. the beamng desert racing series trucks have fiberglass panels which break in a very similar way as seen here. so id say it is possible but not implemented in any of the vanella vehicles yet as far as i know. i'm sure when the game is finished it will have similar mechanics in vanella vehicles.
@@enegort2228 its a critique, and it looks far from perfect cause the damage model literally crumbles into piecies at slow impact, BeamNG is better, although this is decent because the damage is detailed but both still needs perfection and work though.
Well, BeamNG actually simulates quite all you see here. Flexible Body damage, breaking plastic bumpers (with the new cars), breaking off parts kinda stuff, chassis flex, suspension flex and damage, all this kinda stuff.
I agree, though I feel some of the breaking is a little much. For instance, rolling down the hill and losing the roof. The cutting of the fan blades is reasonable, but the rolling, not so much.
From what I´m seeing only thing missing is some sort of elasticity, which already may be there but still. Maybe letting metals stretch a bit before breaking, instead of instantly crumbling would give a better result since metals are pretty malleable. That is why BeamNG probably looks better, because it not ripping apart is more expected than fully crumbling. Other than that, this is amazing, and a great step forward!
Was looking for this comment! The suspension doesn't seem to work, it looks like the tires took over that job. The dissipation of the collision energy isn't worked into the models, like you said due to the lack of bendiness things break and feel like an crusty apple pie.
