There seems to be a plague of drivers forgetting to set the brakes lately. I suspect they got their CDL from a school where they just pay for the license without getting any instruction. One of the first things a driver is taught is to set the brakes before leaving the cab. It's something drivers do automatically. Maybe manufacturers need to modify trucks so the brakes come on when the door is opened or the seat belt isn't fastened. You can't make drivers smarter but you can make the truck smarter.
That's a great theory. I have heard reports of a national driver shortage. Makes sense that "schools" are just churning them out with little to no hand-on instruction.
And it wasn't a simulator either the real world is a lot different then a game. I know I'll been stuck a lot of times and had to get out all by my lonesome.
Real life is not like a video game, the amazing crap you can pull off in games doesn’t translate to the real deal too well. A bobtail is so light in the ass end it would take piling ten fat people on the back to get good traction off road.
You both do great work and your being able to tallk to each other is a super feature and time savings along with safety. Trent, do you still drive your "old" truck some. It is such a beauty also. Thanks for sharing with us.
That is some sweet off road trucking! You guys are really lucky the one in the Brownie suit told you exactly how to do your job. She obviously does this everyday, that is bossing people around when she should let them do their job.
The way that company runs their drivers I'm not surprised to see something like this. You can only work people 70 hours a week for so long before fuck up's start happening.
How often do you find the tractors equipped with pintle hitches? I could've sworn I've seen them like that fairly often even for trucks that normally pull fifth-wheel trailers.
This achieves the 3 link rule which states that a chain is at is full working load limit(WLL} when 3 links are in contact with the winch. Often times the hook will not achieve this but a shackle will, hence achieving full WLL. Thank you for watching!
We had a owner op last year who was hooking up to his trailer forget to set his tractor brakes. When his landing gear started to come up off the ground truck started to roll.driver tried to pull the trailer glad hand to lock trailer brakes but ended squashed between the truck next to him and getting run over
Quick and easy, just the way it oughta be. Too bad you couldn't get up enough speed in that area or you probably could have popped it up over that berm into the parking lot without Darl having to reposition the truck.
Would have been great to hear the 2-way communication, that was like sitting in the truck stop and only hearing half the story. 👍👍👍👍 Them automatics will get ya every time, junk pieces of crap
Hope they don't try to make you take down the video like they did with Ron Pratt when he recovered one that rolled away. Sadly forgetting to set brakes seems to be common at that company. I saw it no less than 6 times during my short stint there.
Sir Trent /Darl !!! GREAT to see that NO 1 Got killed by a runaway tractor as some1 would have tried to jump into it !! Did you get your gloves out of the tractor as only showed you getting your drink in hand ???? ""KEEP IT SAFE ""!!!
I drove a truck once. I set the brakes. It still rolled away. I was still in the driver's seat. It was my assigned truck for the day. I was prepping it at the time. They got me a different truck.
Bumper for the truck, cost to replace the fence, and truck probably needed brand new suspension. I am sure the company he worked for and there insurance had a stroke.
Justin you need to pass a CDL test and all the other tests for other endorsements on that type of CDL license. I do believe you have to have a double and triple trailer endorsement.
More than likely it wouldn't. It might have gotten him out of where he was but certainly not over the little washes or over the fence. Thank you for watching!
I love all wannabe super truckers in the comment section. This is a very common occurrence. It’s so common, newer trucks sound the horn if the door is opened and the brakes are not set.
JoePJack1 I think you are full of it common occurrence my ass and I have never seen a truck that blows the horn if you open the door and the brake is not set.
I don't understand how you "forget" to set the brakes on a truck, especially when it's part of your job. It's really not hard to double check before exiting the vehicle.
Professional drivers don't forget to set the brake. Were you ignoring him because A) You knew he was an idiot B) There was a language barrier C) You were busy talking to your partner D) All of the above? :-)
I say maybe B and C, because he only communicating with the truck driver for a few minutes in the video, and he is on his phone all the time with his partner who is doing all the control on the tow truck, instead of using 2 Walkie Talkie for both of them to talk to eatch other from far away and maybe talk to the truck driver too in the video, if this is a Ron Pratt Video, I think he will used 2 Walkie Talkie to talk to eatch other from far away and not using phone to talk to eatch other all the time, just saying.
To address both your questions, We had spoken to the driver prior to turning the cameras on. We had informed him that once we started the recovery he needed to stand back and allow us to do our job because of the hazards associated with the recovery. Ming Hong Lim, the system we are using to communicate is far more superior than phones and walkie talkies. We are equipped with a full duplex communication system consisting of headsets that allow us to be in constant communication. Although walkie talkies get the job done, this system is far superior and provides clear communication, noise cancelling when needed, and hand-free operation. If needed, we are able to communicate with others who do not have a headset by putting them in pass through mode but with the culmination of the language barrier and the driver disregarding our instructions, we were forced to ignore him until the recovery was over. Thank you for watching
I did not know both of you used headsets with full duplex communication system on the towing job, I know other people need to be in a safe distance and safe place from both of you so that both of you can do your job safely and recover the run away truck safely back to the parking lot.
I'll be damned if it isn't central transport the same company that caused a accident because the stupid fucking driver didn't know how to make a left hand turn he didn't even stop and keep going
This is a case of pure stupidity. I’ve seen many truck drivers that don’t apply the parking brake. Any driver that “Forgets” to pull the brake and it goes rolling away should be fired on the spot. No reason for this to happen. It’s not a difficult thing to do or to remember.
That's a BIG JOKE getting a tow truck out there all u needed is a pickup to jerk the truck back and drive it back out LMAO but u guys r GOOD at milking the job out
We had already spoke with the driver prior to the cameras being put on and informed him once the headsets were on it would be difficult for us to hear him. Don’t worry customer service is our priority. Thank you for watching
5:58 "I set the brake." If only the trucker had, lol
Yeah! It’s a scary thing to have a semi chase you across a parking lot that is unmanned.
Can you please do a truck tour of the service truck

Well I have had my seatbelts alarm go off because of a loose cable while driving down the road. Would be pretty bad if it set the brakes too.
you would say though that they learn such a thing for their car license too.
When I am stuck in Euro truck simulator i press V to activate the differential lock to get out from ditches why u didn't press V
He did, the frame twist was too much to maintain traction over that last bump.
And it wasn't a simulator either the real world is a lot different then a game. I know I'll been stuck a lot of times and had to get out all by my lonesome.

Does the simulator have sand and cactus mode?

Thank you for watching!
WOW a 4x4 OFF ROAD You dont see much of that in the UK Over Here they use em to go to the Supermarket
Great job, Trent and crew.
Thank you sir!
Nice job and great teamwork.

First time I ever saw Darel without his red cap!
Excellent job!
You probably could have got her out in one go if you gave her the beans in "off-road" mode 😂
HAHA I did. Those automatics are worthless. Thank you for watching!
This is oddly satisfying 😂
This may sound like a dumb question. Why didn't someone get into the truck and just turn it around and drive it out ?
Or start it up and back it out?
How did he do that without any obvious damage to the truck? WOW. Enjoyed the video, just wish we could hear both sides of your conversations.
I like your profession
Minty 👍!!!
Good going Trent!!!
Thank you for watching!
Cause dont think that big truck daryl is in couldn't make it down there. Y'all do some excellent work.
That looked like a brand new tractor. The floor was still pretty clean and nobody had erased the stock number from the windshield yet.
2020 lol Thank you for watching!
Odometer read 21k miles at 17:43. Pretty much brand new smh lol

Another Professional Steering Wheel Holder strikes again. Most likely need a manual for wearing flip flops.
Didn't even grease his fifth wheel
at first I thought you were drinking that drivers water lol
That's what I thought... "Well, just help yourself to the Driver's drink and gloves!"
Lol no I brought my own soda and gloves with me. Sorry for the confusion
That 5.4 sounds tired lol I was hoping it was a 7.3
To new for a 7.3, thought it was a 6.0 til I heard him hit it a little lol
Someone is going to get a butt chewing for that. Good job getting it out!
With central he might get a raise.

Not a bad looking rig for a local
Awesome job as always 👍👍👍

That company has some issues with driver not Setting the brakes I’ve covered two from fences last year.
How often do you find the tractors equipped with pintle hitches? I could've sworn I've seen them like that fairly often even for trucks that normally pull fifth-wheel trailers.
I see pintle hitches on almost all LTL carriers because they pull doubles and triples depending on the state
Ha Trent How Was Your Holiday Season . That Service Truck Is Perfect For This Job . Is that the One You Have fun With . Is it the Oldest in Your Fleet
Why the shackle between the hook and chain? Just curious.
This achieves the 3 link rule which states that a chain is at is full working load limit(WLL} when 3 links are in contact with the winch. Often times the hook will not achieve this but a shackle will, hence achieving full WLL. Thank you for watching!
Plaza Towing thanks for your time to reply. Enjoy the videos. Be safe.
How much did they have to pay for the fence?
Check off-roading in a semi off the bucket list lol
That's weird, those trucks start beeping if you forgot to set the brakes. Wonder what's the full story.
C'mon, 800+ more subscribers and you've reached 100k+ subscribers !!!

Plenty of “Drivers” out there to keep you guys busy. 🤦🏻♂️
It was a good one
Nice video.
Great video what kind of trailer y'all got for your tow yard are you a big truck
Aside from the fencing.. The truck rolled there on it's own.. Couldn't it drive out of the soil on it's own? It looked pretty drivable..
8:10 shackle abuse....lol
Random question what watch/case do you wear?
It is made by rhino band. Have had it since July and it is staying strong. Thank you for watching!
Good thing was it didn't hit any other vehicles
what is going on, was it 'don't set your brakes month'?
This one was interesting

Another easy job for you .
Purple truck omg. :D
Well, seems like that driver sort of got away with that one. The only damage to the tractor I spotted was a tweaked mudflap holder.
And the mirrors
That's a bolt-on part as well, though.
Since you had already backed up to fence why did you have to be pulled through the fence line.
Not all the rear wheels are drive wheels. When they hit the raised dirt at the fence line it was loosing traction you can see the tires spinning.
it was going a little uphill and with no weight on the rear drive tires, they were just spinning and did not get any traction on the dirt.
He didn't have traction
How do you not forget to set the tractor brakes .He's lucky that the fence was the only damage
Dam feels bad
Where is your company located at?
Indio and Palm Desert Ca
Poor truck. its only got 20,000 on it and it already has a smashed mirror a and bin sent through a fence. RIP
no comment being nice to the driver cause do-do happens

Plus the wrecker cost..Funny how the blocked out company name in preview shot.
You said it had no brakes and that’s why it crashed but I’m confused because it clearly had brakes when you drove it
He failed to SET the parking brake. Thank you for watching
Everybody has a better way til it comes time to do it
how much is a job like this if it is no secret
Out of curiosity do you need a degree for that type of work
No degree just get your cdl and go to work someone and they will train you
Justin you need to pass a CDL test and all the other tests for other endorsements on that type of CDL license.
I do believe you have to have a double and triple trailer endorsement.
Only other feet I can think of is probably a rigging cert for if you’re working with the rotator
What engine is the service truck
Sounds like a gasser to me
Jefferson Moctezuma probably a v10
V10 is correct
that driver should go back for retraining
Good ole manny maroon drivers!!
They suck here in Michigan. I'm sure the California ones are no better!
That company is based in Michigan.
“ many moron drivers”
Job security!
Absolutely! Thank you for watching!
Easy Peasy!
Did the driver try putting it in off road mode before calling for the winch out? Maybe that would have gotten him out.
More than likely it wouldn't. It might have gotten him out of where he was but certainly not over the little washes or over the fence. Thank you for watching!
Woow seeing any vehicle without no brakes is awful especially a semi truck but don't rigs have EMC brakes tho.
@Malik ElcoSS454, the driver forgot to set his brakes. It's in the video description and Trent Jr explains it in the opening seconds of the video.
@@jontisdall6248 ; Looks to be like a used Penske Daycab .
I wanted to see the damage to the front of the truck from running through the fence.
Surprisingly not much! Thank you for watching!
there is no way that truck just ran that far into the dirt on gravity alone
