Q:What camera do you use?
A: I use the Go Pro Hero 7 Black Edition primarily. Often times you will see auxillary cameras in use. Those cameras include The Go Pro Hero 6, Hero, and DJI Mavic Pro Platinum
Q: How big Is your rotator?
A: It is a 50 ton Miller Industries Vulcan 950
Q: Does the carriage slide back like Ron Pratt's?
A: No, the carriage doesn't slide back due to strict weight laws in California. The sliding carriage will make the truck to heavy in CA
Q: Why do you only have 3 winches on the rotator?
A: Comes down to weight again as stated above
Q: How many trucks Does Plaza Towing have?
A: Currently more than 30
Q: Why must the driveshaft be removed to tow a vehicle?
A: When vehicles are not running the transmission is not receiving circulating lubricant. If the driveshaft is left installed, the transmission, which is not receiving lubricant, is still spinning. This allows it to get very hot which eventually will cause major damage to the transmission. Therefore, removing the driveshaft completely eliminates the transmission from spinning. Simply leaving it in neutral is not sufficient since the transmission still spins in neutral. - Авто/Мото
Those wood blocks in front of tires are hurting it giving to much resistance
Negative, the Resistance they create is offset by the resistance they mitigate by raising the frame/fuel tank off the ground. Hopefully that makes sense. Thank you for watching!
Assuming you are correct that extra force required to lift the wheel up onto the blocks is well worth the effort to prevent damage to the truck and a possible fuel spill. The operator has no idea what is under those tanks his best bet is get them out of the sand as quickly as possible.
@@plazatowing Gonna say they will sink a bit anyhownamd get the truck popped up to provide less resistance from the sand underneath. All about distribution and minimizing resistance.
Exactly why i do not like low skirting. The lower the truck the more hungup you can get.
he knows what hes doing. although i can see your POV on this.
Love how everyone is critiquing the driver. Maybe he’s new. Everyone starts somewhere. No one starts out as an expert.
I'm retired 28 yrs from fire department and always loved to to see you guys bring out the big rotater truck. Loved having ya'll work with us on the scene, always made my life easier. stay safe!
The work in designing and building those tow trucks is an amazing feat that most people don't even think about.
Someone should put a sign up in that parking spot - Free Parking - $1500.00 to leave..
Dwl🤣🤣🤣
That's not a parking lot, it's a sand box with bitumen boarders
Hotel California car park.
Free Parking - $1500.00 + mandatory damages waiver to leave! :D
I like how y’all utilize all your compartments and keep everything neat and readily available and everything has its own place👍👍✌️
The truck is the best I have seen, very cool operation.
Dicky Miller I did that in my rig, built shelves and drawers in my International Cabover. Every inch counted in a cabover.
I like how you talk out each step you do.
Glad you enjoy! Thank you for watching!
Burlington Motor Carriers used to have a deep-mud droplot south of Charlotte. Half the drivers had to be towed out by the other half or a tow truck. I sent Tom Grojean a photo of me standing up to my ankles in mud. They soon got rid of that lot.
That's the money hole across the street from Loves in Coachella. I've made some money yanking guys out of that exact hole. It's almost a daily occurrence lol.
Good job, i love it how you keep calm and easy on the driver eaven though he got absolutly no clue. Could have put the rubber pads in the ditch to get the trailer a little higher. but you got it out without major damage and the truck was wrecked beforehand anyway... just look at that bumper, good call to make sure you dont have to pay for all the damage that the truck already had.
Good to hear that your strength is back after surgery.
Don't short change yourself, it was still mission accomplished. Thanks for the video.
That rig is a "playground" full of fun stuff
I love how clean and organized the compartments on your truck are. I strive for neatness like that, but never make it.
Thanks Trent, you learn something New everyday 👍
Nice job, nice and clean tow truck and good technic to help this driver.
As a truck driver (Canada-USA), i know we all make mistake sometime. But if you learn from it, its ok. And when we, the truck driver make mistake, we thank heaven the tow truck operator know their job. Have to call tow truck 3 times, 2 first were really pros, but the third was a joke. I teache him how his rotator work, how to chain ect.
I woke up that morning and saw that truck infront of me accross the parking lot in coachella...lol
"Shit the truck is stuck! I'll just spin these tires until the actual truck touches the ground, that'll get me out!"
heat them bad boys up lol
The tyres are not dug in at all. He simply floored the thing on the way out.
Just found out that I am not doing well.but will always watch your videos
Judging by the condition of this guy's truck I'm gonna figure it's not his first time finding himself in a sticky scenario.
At least the ridiculous color scheme draws the eye from all the damage
That’s at the Del taco parking lot on Dillon rd of the 10 in Indio. I don’t understand why some truck drivers think they can park everywhere .Park across the street at the Loves truck stop and walk the street to the Del taco .
The parking lot at Love's gets full a lot. Still, there are other options available in that same area, including the TA across the freeway from there as well as Spotlight 29 Casino
Whoa Whoa Whoa... WALK, W T F ! .. WALK.. he wanted a feed not a marathon or a exercise class, so decided to zip in and grab a quick feed...zip zip ZONK !
Not all big rig drivers have current certification that their brains are functioning properly.
That's in California
Idaho has a 208 area code statewide
Old Werner trailer. When I was a newbie, I started with them. Late one night, about 2 am I realized the acronym: BACKWARDS!
Red-Eyed Nervous Rookies Every Where!!!!
In Europe drivers drove down to Saudi Arabia in the 70s and 80s and getting stuck in the sand was an everyday experience. You dug yourself out or you stayed there because there were no fancy rescue trucks coming to help you out in the middle of the desert.
I own a crane company and have 24 employee's. You can't fix stupid so you will always have jobs like this. It was nice to watch someone use common sense while they work. Sometimes you don't have to be superman just work smart and careful. You can work for me anytime. Great job.
Another nice pull, great video as usual ! God bless.
Excellent job
You love helping people and that’s a great thing
You done a very good job on getting him out, you have a very, blessed day
I know that place why I park at Luvs walk over . great job great viedo
Very good operator👍👍
You have such a good attitude, that helps more then your truck. But the truck helps too
you really know how to use that rig , fun watching , well done
Didn't look that bad at first, but that was really a piece of work. You did a great job there.
Thank you!
You are very professional n carry your work with pride enjoy your videos
That some great towing, love your work.
The driver seems to be new at it. Driving an older shaker from Santa Ana Ca. Not every one could tell that the sand would suck them up. Live and learn. That's what they call experience.
Excellent Job
Righteous job!
Dude- you are seriously skilled. Impressive! Stay safe!
You did an A+ job!!!!!!!!!!!!
They can't all be easy money pits Trent😉 Looks like you need a bunch more blocks put in the truck. Possibly could've used them to bring the trailer in that hole up some instead of dipping down so much, seen Malachi do that a few times. Good job all together thanks for the video
💪😎👍 〽️
Good winching brother just started working for the heavies having worked light duty before and your videos have helped a lot stay safe out there
So happy to hear that! Thank your for watching!
Plaza Towing I'm not sure how I ended up on your video but I couldn't stop watching that beautiful machine at work dam she is a Beauty what's her name
This truck is very similar to the MRVs we have in the army. Very cool trucks and always gets our buffalo out when its stuck
I drove OTR for awhile and I have 2 things to say.......YOU need to be commended for the nicest and understanding tow driver I have ever seen and 2 the driver did not listen to you and your commands you gave him.......again you need to be commended for your demeanor.
Overall a very nice job. I'm sure any C-130 loadmaster would have been proud of your efforts.
Wow! Those new wrecker rigs are so neat and handy as compared to the old ones! Unbelievable what technology has done for us.
That was amazing,👍👍👍
Super works 👍
Why do I love this so much??
Great job Trent
Wow... that’s a big hole!! Nice job!!
Very Professional! Good job
I remember when I was delivering ice to a shack on the beach. I was backing up to it in soft sand, and I felt the truck getting stuck. I kicked on the power divider and through some miracle, I got the truck out. I'm never doing that again. Great video as always.
I learned in 1992 when I'm about to drive on sand or soft dirt to interlock the other drive axle just before getting on it. Has saved me more than once especially when I drove for a company where I delivered to job sites a lot.

A good job don 👍👍👍
Like usual when you watch somebody that knows what they are doing and has the right equipment they make it look easier than it really is
I like all your work very professional and treat people fair need more people like you boss!!! AKA POWERDRIVER South Georgia!!
That was a pretty sweet pull!!
Great job I was in suspense I thought trailer was going flip over
Great Job on this winch out and Thank you for the shout out!
Rene Jimenez Amazing wrecker, too!
the driver was so grateful that he had not the courtesy to help get the blocks out. don't you just hate that
Man that thing was buried deep!! Great job getting er out.
Not a fail. You still concurred the mission. Maximum effort lol.
The secret to getting out of anywhere. Don't stop. Keep moving.
Glad my 1st few jobs were in construction.. You learn a lot about sand & mud. Most new OTR drivers have no clue about sand 7 stone , &how it sucks you in.
great job
More like our off-roading, where if it went in forward you pull it out backward :o) (used mine twice today on side pulls, one to stop the other vehicle rolling over again. And one because the other vehicle was hooked into a bulldozer :o) I had fun.
Awesome 👍🏻
Gotta love it when drivers will not follow simple directions. I used to deal with pulling them out all the time when I worked in a mine. If they did not listen and worked against the CAT 980 loader I just pulled them anyway and if anything broke it was on them. That thing had twice the pulling power in weight as there whole trucks weighted. most the time a bump was all that was needed.
That must be where the lot lizards sleep in that whole.😜
nice job 👍👏👏
Great job pulling that trucker out.
Good job Trent.
First time watching. Will have to check out more videos
Good job
Man he was stuck good job 😀
amazing!!!!
That Was Awesome
Good recovery 👍
Thanks
Haven't had a money pit video in quite some time , nice to see one again !!
A couple of months ago, Trent said they (truck stop) closed off parking on that sand pit. I don't remember exactly when, but it was in the winter.
Really nice rig!!
I did a little winching a couple lifetimes ago. One of the hardest things was keeping the driver from trying to do my truck's job.
Me my co workers and boss watch your videos once in a while. You guys will catch us from time to time as I work for brothers towing of Norco and we go through your area once in a while. I drive a 3 axle wrecker
That moment when you're watching a tow truck on youtube because of the corona virus.
Truck drivers like that guy keep you with a job.
I got stuck like this the same way, the truck was free but the rear of the trailer was dug in the ground. The back of my trailer was touching the dirt/gravel. Instead of the tow truck driver using blocks. He made me drop my air suspension and it lifted the back of my trailer over 6 inches. I literally couldn’t believe it
That was an expensive Del Taco Stop
I'm surprised you did not fill in the hole after you got the tandems out so the trailer would not get in the same hole.. you did a good job!!!
I think filling the hole with sand would have required a lot of shoveling, but even worse, it would have been softly piled sand that is not compacted and given the weight of the trailer, the tires would have sunk right into it as if it wasn't even there.
Apparently you've never shoveled sand.
Nice job
good work friend, it seems easy but it is not.
I pass this place every night on my route I go out to desert center CA. then back to Carson CA. I usually pass by Dillon Rd. About 1am
What's going on in Desert Center? You work at the Post Office?
When you pull onto a dirt lot and see a hole big enough to put a VW Beetle in DON'T DRIVE INTO IT. Driver should have saved the phone call until later but that's just me...
How much was the bill? I don't think I want to see it.
around here. 4 figures usually for a truck that size. ( referring to the tow truck)
I couldn't believe he wouldn't hang up the phone
A donkey cart is about this guy's speed. Anyone who takes a loaded trailer off the pavement isn't the sharpest tack in the box.
And he couldn’t take directions
Mexican truck drivers aren’t the sharpest tacks in the first. I’ve almost had my hood taken off by them several times in truck stop or just passing me
That guy dug himself in a hole, literally.
Did you hear where it was said the hole was already there, the driver decided to drive through it,
bobby asani I taught my long haul trainees, “ When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.” I teach my grandkids that now in a totally different context.
I saw a D-9L pull a frame rail out of a stuck bottom dump.
That was a great idea about putting the spikes down. That was a close one to tipping. Great job getting him out!
It wasn't that close to tipping, to be honest. By the time there's a 30° angle between tractor and trailer, the furthest steer tyre is getting to be about 10' past the trailer side. That functions as more or less a 10' outrigger keeping the trailer from tipping (assuming the 5th wheel, pin, and frame are good). Yes; slow, steady, and cautious are necessary at that point, but it's much further from tipping than it looks.
The riskiest time is when the tractor and trailer are more or less in line.
Great point! Ive had some trailers FAR further leaning than this one. With that being said, it still is sketchy lol so like you said slow and steady and careful. Thank you for watching!
awesome
Hi Trent, did you find out how many hours he spent digging that pit? Good job. Thanks for sharing another great video.
Just what a truck stop needs, a giant sandbox.
It's a pit trap. It catches rookie drivers.
That hole puts food on the table and clothes on backs. I bet that hole bring home at least 3k a week lol
Nemosis The Great more than that I’m a trucker
It's amazing how a truck stop can make hundreds of thousands daily in fuel sales alone, yet neglect the conditions of their parking lots so much.
