As a relatively new Bo fan, there's a lot of his old stuff I still haven't heard, so these were new to me too! I feel like his Boston accent is more on display in this one than usual!
Its amusing b/c as a New England native I feel like he has such a minimal accent just from hearing the truly thick ones growing up haha. (I think perception of accents across regions is a cool area to observe)
I have absolutely no problem with you reacting to Bo's entire discography. He continuously grows in different areas over time. These first RUclips songs are where his lyrical genius starts really taking shape. Once you start getting into his Netflix specials, which are more like one man shows than stand-up comedy, you'll see how artistic he can be in the composition of his performances. All of this comes to a head with the most recent special that he did completely by himself, alone in a single room over the course of more than a year during Covid. It is called Inside and it was nominated for 6 Emmy's, winning 3 of them. It is an absolute triumph of artistic ability in which he did all of the lighting, writing, performing, filming, editing, etc. entirely by himself. I look forward to watching you on this journey and seeing you react to the growth of one of the best performative artists of our time
Oh girl, the journey you're about to go on is super exciting. You're in for a treat. If you enjoy Bo this much when he is young wait till you see his stand up specials where he actually has a budget not to mention the skill he has built as he gets older. Love your reactions
Love seeing someone ACTUALLY laugh and react to Bo. I've been a fan of his from his RUclips days and would love to see your reactions to his stuff from his specials, whenever you want to get to it, no rush.
YES! Old Bo stuff is so underrated by reactors! Don’t get me wrong I love all of his stuff but his old stuff is where I fell in love with his music and was a fan ever since!
I would highly recommend that when you get to his specials, watch them in their entirety, it's best enjoyed that way. You can always pause/resume recording for his individual bits, or the parts people want to see.
I'm pretty sure he wasn't actually playing the oboe, I think it was just mimed for the video because I remember an interview he said he can't play it. But yes, he can play every other instrument in the world. Always so excited to see someone discover him for the first time. I've been a fan for 10 years but wasn't *obsessed* until Inside came out this year. I recommend continuing to go in order and ignore the people telling you to jump forward in his catalog. lol You have mobilized the Bo Army. Since you didn't know what pi is you may have trouble with his song New Math, but just look up the explanations on Genius lyrics or something. :D
I was a little confused at her reaction at first, too, but I think she knows what pi is, but just didn't make the connection to the 3.14 part, and thought it was PI as in private detective.
I love that you're doing this chronologically, from his YT start. Most reactors jumped on Inside and them went back and were like "ohhh". You'll get it all, his personal journey and development, it'll mean so much more I think. I'm actually excited to watch you go on this journey and discover more and more genius and laughter and shock and mind-blowing material.
Great video! Your laugh is so contagious! Hope you’re enjoying the Bo Burnham bump lol, in this video you said you have 1.78k subs and now you’re at 2.1k. It’s been awhile since I’ve watched these old videos and it’s crazy how smart he was even back then. He talked about woman’s suffrage and pedofilia lol. He’s “woke” and not pc and it’s awesome. This was longer than I thought it was going to be
It makes me laugh and it also makes me sad when the far right try to use "woke" to mean anything that makes them uncomfortable. So... Race, gender, education, healthcare, talking about the negative impact of capitalism, the systems in this country that are rooted in white supremacy still to this day, etc. They are so clearly fascists at this point and most of them fit under the white nationalist umbrella. It's pretty alarming that things that were bubbling under the surface are now out in the open in a massive way. We need more people like Bo Burnham, to be honest. But people with his level of genius, creativity, and willingness to be vulnerable while discussing major issues seem to be few and far between.
Despite being a longtime fan of Bo, these are two songs I missed back in the day. I've seen most of his other old stuff but not these. Anyway like everybody is saying, definitely keep watching Bo, and watching them in chronological order is a great idea because you'll get to see how he developed as a comedian, artist, and performer over time!
3.14 was the first song I ever heard from Bo, and it made a fan of me! Based on that clever wordplay alone, I could see then that that kid was going places - and boy, has he! And your reactions are so genuinely refreshing, and you deserve to hit a million!
I literally clicked the bo burnham playlist insantly , its 2am, i dont care, seeing your reactions to each video is perfect and well placed and organized. well done.
ahhhh i was waiting for this! if you are going to continue reacting to bo burnham I recommend words, words, words and art is dead then make your way up to his more newer stuff :) (congrats on 2k btw)
This ( 3.14 apple pie ) is the first song I ever heard from Bo... RUclips was still like Newish... it's crazy !! I'm Glad he's still killing it today !!
i like how your going from his old stuff to his newer stuff, i’d recommend to go through the really old ones on youtube then from ones on his special words words words, after that he has his special what. and after that make happy and finally inside which is him recent :D
This is the second video I've watched and you immediately get a like. You are such a bright personality and watching your reactions to my favorite artist (of any art, of any style, ever) is heartwarming.
Omg yess! Welcome to the Bo Burnham fan club 😀 Thank you for a really fun video as always and Happy New Year! p.s. Be careful how much of Bo's stuff you watch, because you will end up memorizing every single song and will be singing it no matter what you do. Or at least that's what happened to me.. 🙄
Been a fan of him since, like..'08 or something, I don't even remember. But I'm STILL catching stuff I never noticed before. It's absolutely NUTS how much he can pack into his songs.
I would like to request some of the most memorable songs like: - I'm Bo Yo - New Math - Words, Words, Words - Art is dead. - Repeat Stuff - Can't Handle This (Kanye Rant) - White Woman's Instagram - Welcome To The Internet - That Funny Feeling - All Eyes On Me
ah sweetheart you've found yourself at the rim of the bo burnham rabbit hole. Im happy to be here to witness another fan being born. Cant wait to see your reactions to his later masterpieces
@@RyukenXX I feel like all of Bo’s humor comes from a place of obsessive self-awareness. Light or dark, if you resonate with that experience of unwavering self-confrontation, you will enjoy Bo’s playfully self-deprecating jokes as well as his most visceral social commentary.
You think it's his first delivery, and it could potentially be, but singing the grandma song while playing, and recording it, he's got some immunities to the jokes
I can confirm the other comments. If you watch the Bo Burnham videos roughly chronologically, many Bo fans (including me) will watch all of them :) I also love your laugh!
For the next ones I suggest you start from the 8y ago videos from What (his second special) that's where the better stuff starts in my opinion. You can find many songs of him (unposted on his yt) on @Musical Comedy and @Netflix Is A Joke
So, Bo is known for his older sets 🤔 He's so fantastic and I would recommend checking out "Words, words, words" and also to see "Welcome to the internet"
You asked why commercials are so loud. I am not recommending this for a reaction, but if you are curious, "Fact Fiend with Carl Smallwood" did a video about loud commercials that is very entertaining. Video name is "That Time Someone Got So Mad At An Ad That They Changed The Law" Great reaction as always
When you get to certain things like albums. They were shows technically so there will be a live version and a album version with a video or just a picture on the screen version of the album of the show… so what im getting at his live stuff is what you ashould watch.. Netflix owns a lot of it. So you may need to put something over the video or lower the opacity.
im kind of a lurker. i dont really like or comment usually. i did both on this video because your channel name alone is worth it. it is genius. video was quite good as well. good luck out there.
When you get to Inside, his last Netflix special, you might want to see the whole thing through instead of reacting to individual clips/songs. You do lose something seeing them without the context of the special. Fair warning though it's not really a comedy special. Not to spoil but a lot of it is about the COVID lockdown and mental health. If that is personally something you don't want to deal with or it would be hard for you to deal with maybe skip it or only watch a few clips then. There's also a few smash cuts from his interviews/TV appearances that are floating around you could also watch, plus he directed a movie ("Eighth Grade") but I haven't seen it so can't tell you much about it. Have fun.
I hope somebody has warned you about how dark this road is going to get.. I mean it's all good now, but you'll see. He really is a genius, but he's not a happy genius..
Not sure where to make recommendations but I would like to put forward a clip from the UK comedy series yes minister called sir Humphrey Appleby on the purpose of government
Hitler occupied the Rhines region, and I believe some region sounding like Floes in a big maneuver. Bo is smart, well studied, good on every instrument and an excellent rapper on top of all that :-) Maybe Bo said “Reihns and Meuse” intentionally slurring it? Because that would mean Holland, then Belgium.
As a relatively new Bo fan, there's a lot of his old stuff I still haven't heard, so these were new to me too! I feel like his Boston accent is more on display in this one than usual!

@@azuresentry815 Yes! His is very mild. I almost never notic it at all. So when there was just a hint of it in this one it stood out.
pi is how you spell the number π which is 3.14... and is pronounced the same as pie
I can't wait to see more I love bo reactions.
There's a multitude of numbers of pi 3.14 is just the first one in the sequence
@@michaelammons2350 accurate, that is what the ellipsis is for though.

I don't know if she's ready for "emotional/serious" Bo. i'm excited to see.
Loved this, teenage Bo pushes it a bit but he's still clever, funny and charismatic. Congratulations on your engagement 🙂
More like only teenage bo is clever funny and charismatic. Current bo is kinda a downer with like 3 jokes per song instead of 83.
S'your opinion, so just careful with opinions...(!)
So glad to see you reacting to more Bo Burnham he really is a great writer, performer, and artist.
He's. Amazing.
