Thrash??? They went way beyond that label. Underrated band??? Absolutely underrated by most. Most musicians however have been sing their praises since this album came out.
Same here, but he grows on you. Try their mid 90s albums, Phobos and Negatron. Thats how they hooked me in. Heavier sound, more industrial, same great dissonant guitarist but a more traditional extreme metal vocalist for that time.
Bought this in late 80s because I liked the cover art took a while to get into it because it was so unlike anything at the time? Great album, voivoid always stood out from the rest massive respect to them for doing so 👍
I did the same thing. I bought it because of the cover and an article I read about them. It was the weirdest metal I have ever heard at that time and I was heavily influnced by it as I developed as a guitarist. I still use those weird chords even thou I don;t play metal anymore.
That riff was the hook for me. Piggy was a master at making those dissonant riffs sound so mechanical yet musical at the same time, and its those same kinda sequences in most of Voivods discography that really capture my attention and i feel their music👌🏼
You can definitely tell Voivod, Prong, and Meshuggah were all checking each other out in their thrash eras. Sometimes it's hard telling who was influencing who, of if they we're "connected"

One of the best openings to an album ever.
Really true!
creo que te gusta Voivod
i always see a lot of commentary of you in some other albums on RUclips. you seem a nice guy, but can I use your picture profile?
No
u dont say are ya?? 😊
Thrash with chord progressions including inversions as riffs ... who would expect it back then. Classic timeless stuff, unparalleled atmosphere.
Mekong Delta is pretty awesome too. Erich Zann.
@@Nadinetherescuehound totally agree, they share the same musical mentality with Voivod even if the outcome is totally different.
Only for the chosen ones.
Mon amour est inconditionnel pour Voïvod...Il n’y en aura comme eux , seulement des imitations.
Surement original
Oui ils viennent de Montreal comme moi
This band is so awesome, just a unique sound with great songwriting, which is very rare these days
Best VOIVOD albums ever xxx
The mission is ongoing. Rest in Power, and the Metaverse Tour awaits....Piggy we miss you.
Wow. Didn't expect this. This is great. Very original and fun.
One of the most underrated thrash metal bands in the world

The Kings of dischord. Voivod.
Singularly unique. So original. They have no peers. True outsider music. NOT meant for the masses. Only meant for US 🤘 Viva Voivod 🖕
AT 4:09 this song goes into this crazy harmony that has always given me chills.
first time listening to these guys. the way the vocalist sings is a bit unusual, but i kinda like it
Same here, but he grows on you. Try their mid 90s albums, Phobos and Negatron. Thats how they hooked me in. Heavier sound, more industrial, same great dissonant guitarist but a more traditional extreme metal vocalist for that time.
He's a French quebecer his accent is a big part of his vocal delivery
His singing seems a lot closer to punk than metal.
The Morgoth Tales re recording of this song is absolutely killer
I always get goosebumps at the beginning when the droid says "we are connected"
This album is Voivod's Meddle..Very distinctive and transitional..
Hmm maybe more their Dark Side? It is super iconic and accomplished…
This is a masterpiece of classic metal extreme of all times.

Washt released until 1987
@@MichaelMcGilvryWow, you like really told him man.
2:33 that riff is so evil
I love how that riff progresses into the next one.
That riff was the hook for me. Piggy was a master at making those dissonant riffs sound so mechanical yet musical at the same time, and its those same kinda sequences in most of Voivods discography that really capture my attention and i feel their music👌🏼
WE ARE CONNECTED!!!!!!!

Heaviest album ever
Not heavier than Sound Of White Noise, Far Beyond Driven, Release From Agony, Pleasure To Kill...
the pinched harmonic pulse at start.
Biomech connected to its tech.
Fu in' scary
ultimately an outstanding Track to this day!!! As well as one of the best Metal Albums done in the past Century....
that outro though ...
Today we got this shit....
The noise from the heart rate sounds like it's Thrashing.

Fascinating.
Both bands completely revolutionized metal.

From the beeping sound it reminds to downlaod "show me the feeling of being lonely" song.😂😂😂😂
We are connected. Voivod is the best since Metallica!
But Metallica are shit.
Long live Slayer, Overkill, early Iced Earth, Watchtower and Voivod.
