@Changy : thanks for posting this mate- really respect and appreciate you taking the time you do to put in the effort after a days laying to make these vids. Loving the newer stuff and just clicked back and see you doing these as well keep it up fella 👍
Changy excellent video, I am looking to go on price from day works. How does money work do I get paid from subby and pay the lads in the gang? Or Subby pays the lads in my gang? A little confused cheers
I am glad I am out of the new build sector, things don't change its still a battle to get what you are really owed, I bet so many gangs don't get what they are entitled to
I really want to know how to form a 1:1 or 2:1 gang and how to approach subbies on site and whats the process from there? You quote them? Or they just put you on a plot and pay you what you complete via a time sheet? Or how and to whom do you submit a tender to a principle contractor if you wanted to form your own sub contractor gang? Who do you approach? The site agent?
@changy good video. So much easier to book in now. What prices do you lot get for footings? Trench block/4" block etc. Always on supers. Reckon I'll save my back and get back on supers at this rate.
@@Changy_C normally we jump in after price like joist loft or plate or they the boss keep back some money off the so some one and clean there plots for them
Ask what prices they have based the houses on. Just say if it's 550/15 do the count as usual, put it into the spread sheet to keep a record from start to finish of what you do, when you top out you will have the exact quants you have laid and the price for the house should match up with what was agreed. Obvs you will have to put in provisional sums for DPC, trays, lintels, wall plate and any extras like soldier courses or BOE over sailors etc, you should ask what price they are paying you for these as they will have included these into the lift prices. If you top out and the measure works out low on price they are ripping you ff and you have done all the extras for £0. You won't know until you have built the first one but you need to do it start to finish
Thanks for another upload. What about insulation. I know a lot of new builds blow it in but what if you have to do it yourself. Either wool or hard back?
Cracking idea, however you formula in you total box is wrong, as when you dropped you block price etc the total didn't. Excel on a phone is a nightmare and very complicated, on a laptop with your missus formatting it for you is a piece of piss 🤣 Can see where a lot of gangs could be sold short on the work and Excel should help out with the site agent's accidental blindness
@@Changy_C wasn't knocking you, I know how excel can be a pain in the arse at the best of times and its a twat on the phone unless you are a total academic neard. I like the idea of being aware of what I should be charging rather than just accepting what I get. Thank you for your knowledge and experience, I might get an extra few bob now, if I remember to add it to the spreadsheet 🤣

Been trying to find this out too. Bit of a mystery!
You fellas deserve every pound if it was not for you fellas no houses would get built 👏👏

Thanks very much for sharing this, extremely informative and useful, thanks so much top fella you are 👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
👍helps a young bricky out top man
You can add pages and use the pages as days. Keep it simple and makes sense

We aren't on footings mate, they are getting £1.80 trench £15m2 100mm , 50p common, £2.50 lintels
Good idea mate, hard work excel i think, it baffles my head🤣
Watch a couple of RUclips videos on how to use it properly and it becomes easy chang
@@Changy_C i use it for invoices must of done hundreds and it still baffles me😂
We do have pumped insulation so trays and ties have to be spotless. So would you put a bit on top of that or would that be down to you
Brickies should keep the trays and ties clean, if I could get a bit of extra for it I would though

thanks man you are the best!!
Good video, the money lost per squad over the years will be frightening
I guess Im kinda off topic but does anyone know a good site to stream new series online ?
@Deangelo Ty I watch on Flixzone. Just search on google for it =)
@Elliott Blaine yea, I've been watching on FlixZone for since april myself :D
@Elliott Blaine Thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service =) I appreciate it!!
@Deangelo Ty Glad I could help :)
What do you do if the job has lift prices instead of a measure?

Years, if you have to do it you want a m2 price for it. I know gangs that only do rigid board on commercial jobs and make a killin from it.

Cocnrete blocks, Had to laugh, good plan though
That's just an example but obvs I have my sheet laid out a lot better. It's how all Qs work so brickies should too
@@Changy_C he’s on about the way you spelt it mate haha. Good video though will probably start doing this
Yeah much simpler than writing in a pad.! 😆
Really can’t understand why you work for a contractor and lose the mark up . When being so OCD about booking in and extras .
why dont you just have a template?
I do
£739 per day.. i thought mmm not bad, then divided by 3... bugger , im not applying
