    Setting the budget at the ad set level is such solid advice, especially with dynamic creative and avoiding overspend on specific campaigns. Also simplifying the number of campaigns makes sense. You also mentioned best practices for a/b testing with only testing one (at most 2) variables. Love the video and the in-depth analysis and cant wait for your next video.

    I am new to your channel. Thank you for breaking things down and making it easier to understand. I still find myself feeling overwhelmed with the entire process. I'm a first-time self-published author who simply wants to put my book out there but I don't have a big enough budget to get help and can't determine what the minimum amount I could spend should be. Self-publishing requires you to learn so much. I've made it through each step, but this is where I'm stuck. Not sure why I'm even taking the time to share this. I think I'm just having a moment.     Great video! Are you excluding your interest targeting within te open targeting? And are you excluding your retargeting audiences withing the interest targeting en open targeting? Would love to hear from you.

    Hey Ben I'm loving the content, as someone who is trying to start an ecommerce brand all of your videos are super useful. I have a quick question about your setup. You mention setting 2 audiences, one for interest and one for open targeting. So im curious for the interest targeting how many interests is too many? should i stick to one or two broad ones in the same category or should i be looking at adding 5-6 interests that are all different?     Hi! What if I have many products to promote? this new structure will let me insert 1 link per adset. Should I stick to the old structure or launch a campaign for each product with its link although it seems not convenient to od so. Thanks in advance

    Hi Ben, thanks for yet another great video.
    I have some thoughts i would like to present, so hopefully get some feedback.
    You said that you prefer the change the ad spend on adset level when testing DCT's. The way I see this problem is the following:
    You do not have the main adset of the main campaign to test up against, thus you do not know how well it performs compared to that. What i mean with this is that if you would have had your main adset with the winning creatives, inside the same CBO (ABO) campaign, you would see where facebook prefers to use the spend. If facebook gives a lot of spend (40-50%) on one of the DCT adsets, that means you have a new winning creative inside the DCT adset. My take is that if it does not perform well within the campaign with the main adset, it's simply not a good adset.

    Thank you for outlining this new structure. Because you suggest excluding retargeting from this structure, do you have guidance on budget allocation? Still minimum of $100 if possible for cold traffic? Or decrease and take some of that to apply to retargeting campaign? If so, what balance if your retargeting group is not new (running campaigns for quite some time). Thanks,Jan.

    Was waiting for this video 😁 I have been experimenting with Dynamic creative and Retargeting campaign... My question : Should I be duplicating the Adset when making changes / optimizations to creatives? and what if I have 5 product range, therefore 5 campaign : should all the ad creative be in the retargeting campaign? that seems a bit massive? Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks a bunch for all that GREAT content.

      I would duplicate when making changes to the ad set, but not the ads within the ad set. Basically whenever you change something you want to duplicate that element, but not the holding element.

    Ben, you are SUCH a legend! Hand down best Facebook ads RUclipsr out there. How would you recommend A/B testing two DCT ads with maybe one variable changed? For example, could you create separate (and the same) ad groups, one of the ad groups going to a DCT ad with static image creatives and the second ad set going to a DCT ad with video ad creatives? However, would that cause too much audience overlap though with the same audiences in each ad group? Any insight here is appreciated. Thank you, sir!

    Do you have a link towards the old structure video? Also what would you recommend in terms of testing. is 3 ad sets with lookalike, open, and interest targeting al with 4 fully different ad creatives with every 18 euros per day solid? for 3 days with campaign budget optimization. And then afterwards use the best creative and test with different hooks, and then take the winner and test with different targeting?

    Why would you force spend onto variations or adsets where FB otherwise wouldn't spend and save you money? If FB doesn't spend then it isn't optimal for the platform... So forcing spend on it will only result in higher CPMs and costs... And also the budget you spent testing it to determine that...
    Secondly, by setting it at the campaign level, FB can better spend on each ad set to have an overall better CPA? By spending more or less on certain audiences depending on the predicted results...
    The only thing I can think of is this is a good strategy for low budget testing? But again, by forcing spend you are just wasting more money than you would otherwise... Let Facebook ability or willingness to spend to tell you if the creative is going to be good or not? Please let me know how your thoughts and your mind relate to mine. Thank you so much!

      ⁠@@BenHeath I think ultimately why I’ll refrain from this for the time being, is that I’m unable to choose placements. For example I want to run 1080x1080 as well as 1080x1920 images, on both feeds and stories. But with dynamic creative I’m unable to choose the placements for the 10 images uploaded 😢

    Hi Ben Heath, you are sharing valuable information in your videos. thanks for that. I am student in Canada and have learned a lot from your videos. Current I am an Intern at a local small business. I am doing fb ads for them. We ran a fb ad campaign and the ad performance shows 50 ads to cart but the Shopify website is not showing no add to carts. I don't know where is the mistake. Will appreciate your comment on this!

    I will stay on the old structure until FB includes cost caps & bid caps as bid strategy to the new adv+ campaign type. Highest volume isn't cutting it for profit-focused scaling.

    I’m a small business owner and I went over to your website to schedule a call with you and maybe move forward with your services, until I came across your last section before submitting the application that says “ don’t schedule a call if you’re not planning to spend at least $10,000 within 3 months “ my average ticket is $200-400 which means I can’t spend $3,300 monthly on Facebook ads. It doesn’t make sense.

    Great stuff Ben! With this new structure, you said only 2 ad sets at a time, and 1 ad per each ad set. Run this for a week or two and test before making changes to the adset or ad. Would you ever run two campaigns with this new structure at the same time with different ad set audiences and different creatives to test more? Or would this risk audience overlap between the two campaigns?

    1. How should I do this if I have several different winner creatives and want to scale them all to broad. Do you put them all in the same dct or separate broad adsets for each ad? If I make everyone in the dct, Facebook will only spend money on one thing

    Hey Ben! Thanks for sharing! The issue with dynamic creative is we are forced to work with 1 ratio which will affect how our ads will be shown on different placements. Any recommendations? Should we focus on vertical ratio or square ratio when using dynamic creative?

    If we use ABO and setup 2 adsets with 3 ads in each adset ,will the facebook algorithm split equal budget among the all 3 ads in adset or will it act like a CBO mechanism by giving more budget to the more engaging Ad among the 3 in the adset ?

    Hi Ben, what about ‘ugly’ story placements, ad texts getting cut of etc. by using dynamic creative. I get good results with dynamic but clients often don’t like it because it gives weird placements

      for me staying in a res of 1080x1080 gives the most consistent placements and helped me alot! But yeah... somehow dynamic ads tend to mess up placements

      Well it depends what your experience level is. You might be better off starting with the previous set up and testing this once you've got a bit more experience.

    Do I want the same ads in the first ad set as in the other ad set when doing DCO? And do I want the same ads in Cold Campaign as in the Retargeting Campaign, or should I create different ads for that?
    Also, when I see a Creative underperforming in the DCO, should I go in and delete it or create a new ad set with a new DCO where I can add only the good performing Creatives? Or how should you do?

    Hi Ben, Thanks for the new ideas! I run a store in different countries, so using different languages. Will Meta automatically select the right language if I have each language represented in the primary texts? I couldn't find a way to otherwise put translations in this setup.

    You shared a different campaign structure in the past: budget at the campaign level (to allocate the right amount of budget to the warm audience), 5 different audiences (1 warm, 2 lookalike, 2 interest-based), 4 ads per adset (2 images, 2 videos) and the goal was to test both the audiences and the creatives. Can this still be valid or the new structure you suggest is now definitely superior?

      I think it depends where you are at as an advertiser and your experience level. Towards the end of the this video I run through the scenarios where you do and don't want to use each.

    Ben one question, in this way it is not possible to update the creatives within an adset because it does not add other ad as the dynamics can only have one, so if it starts to drop in results over time we will have to turn off the adset and create another one to solve it right? thanks

I'm concerned about potential restrictions, as even my Marketplace listings were removed. I checked the policies and they mention using Commerce Manager, but it's not available in my country.       - go to the ad level
      - click "Breakdown"
      - scroll to the bottom of the options and hover "By dynamic creative element"
      from there you'll be able to see the performance of whatever you are testing (image, copy, headline, etc.)

    Hi. Is there a way to see what creative is working best with Dynamic Ads?? I´ve hunted around in reporting but cant get FB to show this. If this is possible would love to see a video on it!

    But you can have different headline/primary text combinations in normal ads now - so no need for DCAs!

    I always think twice about using dynamic testing, and always end up not using it because you cannot specify different aspect videos for different placements as you can with regular ads. I don't want to show square videos on my stories and vertical ones in the newsfeed. But dynamic creatives can do that if it pleases, and will treat the same video in two different aspect ratios as if those are two entirely separate creatives to be tested. I wonder if Facebook will ever bother to correct this issue. It is Facebooks own reccomended best practice to create and use ads with a placement-appropriate aspect ratio.
    Dynamic testing has always existed from when I first started with FB ads years ago, but I have never seen any improvements to the way it works.

    I rewatched this multipole times but do know if I should use this campaign if I want to spit test my ads and see what preforms best because I won't be able to see what variation works best I think, but I do not want to do advantage+ campaign budget because like you said my ads don't get even share or not budget allocated at all. What should I do?

    I have a question regarding Facebook Ads.
    I run a conversion campaign and a retargeting campaign with dynamic ads.
    Basically, this works quite well.
    But I heard here that you can boost conversion campaigns.
    Here it is recommended to run an interaction campaign with a daily budget of 10 euros and 10 euros for a video-view campaign, meaning that Facebook then knows that the ads from me are high quality.
    But I don't want to push a graphic or video, because I'm running dynamic ads.
    Furthermore, I have tested a click campaign with dynamic ads, I get clicks, video views, as well as interactions.
    Wouldn't it be smart to run a click campaign for a long time with a daily budget of 10 euros and thus boost my conversion campaign?

    Hey Ben! All good but how do you advertise beauty procedures when Fb keeps on rejecting them because they focus on a specific part of the face? It is so annoying. It used to work 6 months ago and now it doesn't. We need them (especially before/after pictures) to show differences but they won't allow it.

    How would you go about updating the creative? Would you just edit the current ad and change out some of the creative that is underperforming? Wouldn't this completely reset learning each time since there is only one ad in an ad set?

      Good question. For small tweaks I would. For larger changes I’d created a new ad

    Hey guys, my Instagram account and ad account connected to a Facebook that I don’t have an access, how can connect my Instagram account to another business page in another Facebook account ?! İs it evden possible?
    I tried many times but the alert says you need fully permission from instagram account to do it.

    Hi Ben, the only thing that makes be a bit curios is, that it's not possible within dynamic ads to change the creative for other Placements. So for example my feed asset in 1:1 or 4:5, is also shown in stories and reels. And i can't change it. Do you think this is a problem?

    Can anyone tell me if by using Dynamic Creatives you are no longer able to use separate images for each recommended aspect ratio? When I set up dynamic ads, it doesn't seem to give me the option to upload different images for each aspect ratio, so my ads are going to look poor in some placements......aren't they??

      Let me know how it goes :)
      I would usually use more variables than that. I feel you'll be able to test more and arrive at winning combinations faster if you do so. But if you are operating with a smaller budget, that set up makes sense.

    hello ben, but in a cbo shouldn't the adsets all have more or less the same audience number? because otherwise e.g. if i have a lookalike adset, a retargeting adset and a broad adset it will spend everything on broad.

    Im new in FB Ads. Currently i face the problem that when i create ad sets in i.e. campaign A the ad set is automatically shown in Campaign B. As soon as i try to delete the ad set from the wrong campaign it is also deleted in the actual intended campaign.. can someone please help. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    Hi Ben, thank you! I have been using your old structure, it has been working brilliantly for months, however last week it all fell off a cliff - Cost per conversion tripled.
    Going to try this. Thoughts on mixing images and video with dynamic ads or will the different media types confuse the algorithm?

    I have a question - If I run a store with lots of products, does it mean the new ad structure doesn't fit us? As you could upload several creative, but not several products as you couldn't assign those headlines to a particular image (product). We usually promote 5 products in the same campaign, to let META allocate the budget to get as much purchase as possible.

    I’m very new to FB Ad Campaigns and need clarification on something. Are dynamic inVideo ads the same thing as “Dynamic Creative”? More specifically, you suggest not using Dynamic Creative and the New Campaign structure if you are really new to FB Ad Campaigns, so does this apply to using dynamic ads in inVideo as well?       Ok so InVideo is a tool to create video ads. That's not a feature within ads Manager.
      I would recommend that beginners stick to a simpler structure than dynamic creative. Then once you are more familiar with the platform you can start to use dynamic creative :)
