  • Full overview of the #zerotolerance 0561. This #hinderer designed blade from the mid-2000s is probably my favorite folder from a totality standpoint. Watch to find out why!

I really like this knife, and appreciate you showing it, but since it’s no longer available anywhere, a better comparison might be to the two readily available Ti and CF variants of the 0562. The 0562 blade is 3.5” instead of the 1/4” longer 3.75” of the 0561, but it’s also closer to the XM-18 and a more all around usable design. From what I read they tweaked the ergos for the 0562 as well based on some 0561 feedback. I have 25 ZT’s, but this is one model I missed. Thanks again for showing it. 👍

I mentioned the 0562 in the vid! I’ve owned the CF version and to be honest it can’t hold a candle to the old 0560 / 0562. If you see one for sale, scoop it and your immediately feel the difference.

@@the_pointy_end Sorry, my bad, I just watched it again and somehow missed that and see it at 3:00. But did you mean to say "the old 0560 / 0561" ? Or was there really an old 0562? I bought the 0562CF and it's smoother than any of the many XM-18 3" and 3.5" models I have, and smoother than my XM-24. It is lighter for sure than the Hinderer knives, but feels smoother to me. I liked it enough that I also got the 0562 Ti, and if anything it has an even better action. Out of at least 25 ZT's those two are the most ergonomic and smoothest.
I'll add this to list of the many other old ZT's I missed to look for. I picked up an 0302 in 2008 as my first ZT, and it's a good knife and built like a tank (like an early 0308) but I'm not a big fan of assisted opening knives so don't carry it a lot. I think it was around $300 at the time as I recall. I agree on the Hinderer flipper, wish it was just a bit smaller. I also agree that their matching the titanium texture to the G10 is the best feature of this model to me. Really nice work.

any problems with the lack of a lockbar insert? Any reason to search for one of these over the more modern 0562?

No problems after 12 years. The 0560/1 feels more ‘Hinderery’ than the 0562- feels a little higher quality imo

Hinderers have always reminded me of manatees. I don't know why.
